My husband and I didn't have the money to stay in Charleston and looked at hotels in N. Charleston. We were sceptical about some of the hotels in N. Charleston and read reviews on most of them but we were not that impressed. We came across the Doubletree and read a lot of great things (having inside room doors was a must). We decided to try it and got […] a great rate for booking in advance. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and looked like it had just been remodeled. The room was wonderful and the bathroom was amazing (can't usually say that about most hotels). It would have been nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. The hotel is minutes from restaurants, stores, and the outlet mall. It is 10-15 min from historic Charleston and 15-20 min from Patriot's Point. We definitely will be coming back! Read more

My husband, two young adult sons and I stayed in a king suite the night before we were to drive to Savannah for a wedding. The guys flew into Charleston and I thought this would be convenient since all 3 flights were getting in a different times. It was about 20 minutes to get to the airport. It looked closer on the map. My sons had to share the full-size sofa bed because the hotel didn't have any roll-away beds. There would have been plenty of room for one though. The guys also had to go through our bedroom to get to the bathroom. For one short night, it was fine. I wouldn't want to spend a vacation with 4 adults in this suite. The area around the hotel is ugly. But again, I wasn't there for vacation. It was easy on and off the highway. Read more

This hotel was an old Ramada and has been completely re-done. Looks great, clean rooms, great flat screen tvs, clean bathrooms!! Very nice! Was confused by all the poor reviews guess they didn't start over just took over old Ramada and kept bad reviews.

This is an older building which is fine with me. I heard they're about to renovate. All in all, I found it to be clean with friendly staff and quite comfortable accomodations. The indoor pool was really nice, especially at night after children were gone. Wouldn't see it as a hang out for the 20-something crowd, but that was what made it so enjoyable for us. It's an old hotel, so it's not going to be shiny and sparkly. Nice staff, clean rooms. I was disappointed to see plants where a hot tub used to be, but oh well. The breakfast buffet was awesome. My only complaint is: I wanted bacon on the buffet. Pet friendly!

The hotel staff was very pleasant. The room was clean but was outdated. The sheets and blanket barely covered both sides of the bed. The bed wasn't comfortable and neither were the pillows. My friends and I stayed at the Ramada last month during Labor Day weekend. Based on the high number of positive reviews on Hotels.com and the reasonable price, we made our reservation. Sadly our stay was a disappointment and we felt letdown. The building is old and outdated, and quite frankly, needs quite a bit of TLC. We also smelled chlorine in the […] hallway going to our room (and this was not the same level of where the pool was!). Our room was dingy with ugly carpets and decor. The beds were not comfortable at all, and the room was small and cramped. The location is convenient in the sense that you can hop on the highway and get to Historic Charleston very easily, but the surrounding area directly around the hotel has nothing interesting, it's just enveloped by fast restaurants and chain stores. Only positive is the staff is friendly. But they're not enough for me to go back. I don't recommend this place. Throw a little extra money and get comfort elsewhere. Read more

Although there were no major problems, I expected more out of a Ramada. Everything was run down and old. Even the waffles makers at breakfast were not working properly....The hotel was clean and the surrounding area was fine but the hotel itself is closer to a Motel 8 then anything else.

You always take a chance when you book a hotel sight unseen. When we arrived the first thing you notice is that it is an older hotel, but when you get inside it is VERY WELL maintained. overall nice hotel and great breakfast. the bathrooms need to be updated, shower rod almost coming out of wall and ceiling in bathroom peeling. But I would stay there again, nice pool, dissappointed they didnt have a hot tub. I was nice they had a indoor and outdoor pool.

The hotel was very nice. It is clean but out dated ie: wallpaper coming off, a/c loud. Overall hotel was nice and quiet. It was further out than I expected but it is very close to the outlet malls. We had to drive 15 to 20 min to see any of the attractions. Nice price but have to be willing to drive.

Terrible hotel..bad neighborhood..behind an oil change place. Smoke detector kept chirping and the staff refused to fix it and gave no credit for a horrible night sleep. Bathroom was dilapidated, room smelled musty and carpet very stained. Breakfast was good and the gazebo bar in lobby is nice.

Was a good place for our family. A short 10-15 min drive to downtown. And much cheaper than downtown hotels. Good hot breakfast included and free beer/wine from 5-7 pm! Great service. Only complaint is that we could never get our room cool enough.

Although we were as close to the highway as possible and from our room at night you could hear everyone excell on the entrance ramp to get on the highway, the breakfast was terrific. Hot grits, eggs, sausage, waffles, etc... Hotel itself was okay for the money and being a holiday weekend.
