The proximity to the C-Train was great but that was the only positive. I had booked a king-sized bed room and the second I walked in, the carpet was disgusting, it look as if they had not cleaned it in weeks. I would say that room is convenient to both downtown and the University. It is right across from a Calgary transit train stop which made it really easy to get places. The room we had also had a microwave and refrigerator which made our stay much more pleasant. The room is on the low end of accommodations that I expect from a Ramada Limited. This was the absolute worst place I've ever stayed in. First of all, the smell in the room was awful...airing the room out made in barely bearable. The floors were dirty and probably hadn't ever been vacuumed. I found hair on the towels and in the sheets which by the way were dingy and stained. Housekeeping left a garbage can with dirty soapy water […] and rags in the room for my whole stay and it's safe to say that the only "housekeeping" they ever did was to leave new towels and empty trash. (It's very likely that the rags were left by the previous guests...) The sheets were never changed even after I questioned front desk...they told me it's changed every few days or so...I was stuck in this hell for 8 days. The kitchen had blood stains on the floor. Housekeeping also unplugged our fridge which left all our food items to be spoiled. The list goes on and on. Oh, I almost forgot how housekeeping left the curtains wide open with our valuables on display for anyone to try to break-in and steal (we were on the ground level and the neighborhood was questionable). I brought all this to the front desk's attention but nothing was ever done about any of these issues other than leaving the curtains closed. I certainly wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel experience but this was the worst ever!! All I wanted was a decent and CLEAN room. If you are looking for a clean place to rest your head, stay far far away from here. PS. The sign in front of the hotel boasts "new comfy beds"...these folks sure have no problems with false advertising. One of the beds in my room was seriously concave in the middle...it should have been thrown out ages ago. Read more

I stayed here for 12 nights while visiting friends in Calgary. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bright, although small. The continental breakfast was simple, but the eating area was small. The location, across from a stop on the LRT, was very convenient. There were many restauarants within walking distance.

I booked the hotel 3 weeks ahead and although I arrived later the room they put us in was in the back no inside access to pool/ hot tub. The toilet was on top of the wall and made it difficult to sit and I am not a big guy. Bed is comfortable...no internet access in this building . The hotel is very far from downtown and very expensive trip from airport to the location. Shuttle and buses doesn't go there. No place to eat nearby. It is a scary place to be for a person traveling alone. Overheard a customer at the counter while I was using the internet. If you want to stay in a commercial location at the edge of town for a short time, this is your place. We hit it during the Calgary Stampede, so we didn't have much choice. Price was reasonable for the time, motel is old and small, but it was OK for one night

On arrival the hotel looks dated and falling apart although the small pool beside reception was clean and reasonably well presented. On entering our room we were hit with the odour of stale smoke and beer however we have stayed in our fair share of "budget" accommodation on our travels so did not let this bother us. The sheets also had holes in them […] that appeared to have been the result of some one cutting around cigarette burns. Is a new set of sheets really that expensive?!!! We only stayed one night before moving on and that was enough for us. During breakfast the next morning there were three different groups of people complained about their rooms and asked to be moved. Aside from the ceiling paint in the bathroom starting to crack, our room was fine. The carpet in the halls could have been vacuumed more. Hot tub could have been hotter (as is, I'd call it a warm tub). Next to C-train which is super convenient. The room was fine, it had all the basics and a balcony to look at the parking lot. I didn't get to try the pool but it looked fine as well. The bed, sheets, towels and bathroom were all clean. Nothing spectacular, but there wasn't anything wrong with it. It's very close to the CTrain which makes it very easy to get to most areas of Calgary.

When we would call the front desk it would take them 2 minutes to answer the phone if was even answered at all. First i want to let anyone know if you wanna be a guest in this Ramada you have to bring your bed sheets and towels, because they don't change them. they make the bed with the same sheets same withe the towels. they don't care about the gusts,i will never ever go there again.

You get what you pay for. If you are looking for a place to stay for just one night and you need a cheap convenient location - this is your spot. If you are staying two or more nights, seek somewhere else. The pool/hot tub is limited. The continental breakfast is limited. TV choice is limited. That's why it is a Ramada... Limited.
