The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I also appreciated that there was a fitness room with a tread mill. It's kind of a haul to the city but doable if you don't mind walking to transportation or driving.

The hotel itself is great, the suites are very spacious, comfortable, and all the amenities are excellent. The free parking is a big plus, as well as the free breakfast and WiFi. HOWEVER, the service is mediocre at best; I'm struggling not to say horrible. The front desk person that checked us in was very apathetic, and the couple of times we called […] to ask something, we felt like we were bothering him. Also, the bell boy was sitting in the lobby playing a portable video game with audio on full blast. He saw us get out of our car with 3 suitcases, 2 laptops, and 2 small bags, and offered no help. We had to approach him, apologize for interrupting his game, and ask for a luggage cart. To complete the bad service trifecta, when we were at the free breakfast, the lady in charge of cleaning up, was standing there 15 minutes before breakfast was over, and we felt she was pushing us to finish up quickly. She began dismounting the breakfast 10 minutes before time. We noticed a guest coming down just 2 minutes after that, and she just said “Breakfast is over”. The only reason I don’t call their service “horrible”, is because later in the day I was looking at the attraction brochures in the lobby, and a gentleman (which seemed to be the manager) approached me and asked whether he could make any suggestions about local attractions, or if there was anything he could do to make our stay better. The level of engagement of this gentleman was superb, the opposite of everyone else there. Read more

The people who work at the Best Western Roundhouse in Boston were extraordinarily cheerful and helpful, from check-in to check-out. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the free breakfast was a nice bonus. The beds were not as soft as I like, but that's a personal preference. The free shuttle was also great. Thumbs up!

The room was non-smoking and reeked of smoke. The air conditioning did not work. The manager did take off $25 for this. The shuttle service was nice, but the driver didn't know Boston very well.

We were there for two nights. Somewhat difficult to locate after dark on night of arrival. Location is convenient to things in South Boston. Fairly accessible to public transportation into center of city. Easy access to Logan airport. Morning breakfast was hot and several options. Suites are not large, but living area is separate from bed room which […] is ideal. Frig, microwave, WiFi, and two TVs. Parking was self-parking and FREE. Almost unheard of in Boston. The Rate is competitive, and the breakfast was good. Hotel staff was not interested in our requests for extra sheets/pillow for pull out in room. In fact, I was ignored. Had to ask 3 times for safe in room to be fixed..it could not be...Had to ask 3 times about phone in room broken..never fixed.Requested the shuttle to nearby attratctions ( as advertised), […] not exactly what they supply. They will drop you at a far off subway station for you to navigate into the metro area. So that perk did not pane out either.A Loud base line ghetto music played in gas station next door from 2-4 am. No rest for the weary.2 men where doing car maintenance under our window all night and fighting with their ladies.The sound of gunshot was heard more than once from neighboring community. Parking is difficult,also mapquest directions incorrect. In a city a lot of things can be overlooked in a hotel if SERVICE is good. They may want to fire the lazy young girl with long dark hair at the front desk and get someone who wants the job. Managers seemed concerned and helpful once they were alerted to their staffs shortcomings. Maintanance man was friendly but unable to resolve issues. The hotel was in a great area. We traveled from Atlanta to catch a Braves and Red Sox game. The hotel was an approx 3/4 mile walk through an Historical area of Northern style Row houses to Fenway Park and an approx. 1/2 mile walk to the orange subway train also you can take the subway any where. The room was clean. The shower was broke the shower head […] would not hang up you had to hold it. Over all the room was pricy but checking out other hotels in the area it was much cheaper. No amenities really except the free shuttle service to get you out of the awful neighborhood. Homeless wandering in to ask for food at breakfast and across the street at the sub shop that offfers the only "room service". Only other nearby food is a McDonalds. The hotel was very nice. Rooms not extra large, but nicely appointed. The bed was great! Shuttle service was awesome, though the drivers not especially friendly and you may have to wait a half an hour. Breakfast is adequate, but don't be late or you won't get any.

This is a hotel built into an old lamp oil storage facility, or so I am told. The round is real. I should have asked for a different room because I had a second floor room above the street and above a gas station. Very noisy. The blackout curtains were very inadequate so if you need darkness to sleep that could be a problem. The hotel is fairly well […] maintained but there was peeling trim at the bathroom floor and I was glad that I was able to plug the bathtub drain with a washcloth to bathe. The buffet was standard cheap, generous, filling American hotel breakfast buffet. The windows might have opened but I was not able to do it by myself. My main issue was the AC which had two setting, off and too hot or on and arctic with big vents. The room was really a suite and quite cute and serviceable. There was a shuttle but if you had a deadline it was not something you could count on. If you are going to the Boston Med center, it was perfect but even though there is a mini kitchen, there is a scarcity of places to go to stock it up. Oh yes, bed was serviceable, nothing amazing and the wifi broke down two of the 3 nights of was there, although the lobby computers and printer were great. Read more

Both beds sagged deeply at the bottom corners. The sofa bed was shaped like an upside down bowl. The TV offered the most limited selection of free channels I've ever seen in 10 years of traveling as an airline pilot. I couldn't even get Fox News or CNN without paying a fee! I paid a little extra to stay closer in to the city but it wasn't worth it.

Very nice property on the south edge of the city. Good hotel shuttle service to get you where needed. Moderate walk to closest subway stop to get you around. Do not be turned off by the location, as long as you do not mind a 10 minute walk to the subway stop.

This hotel was a great value in Boston for a graduation weekend. Price included free breakfast and wifi and free shuttle to various points in town. We also could easily catch the #1 bus headed north on Mass Ave. which went to lots of T stops and areas farther north. Staff very helpful and nice.

Hotel was below average, especially for the price (over two bills per night)...of the 3 nights, left wake up calls for TWO different mornings and NEITHER one was delivered. Almost missed two college tours we had driven nearly 5 hours for....Free shuttle had limited destinations (three subway stations)...could have walked (.9 miles) but did not trust […] neighborhood...tissues near sink were never refilled....AC was difficult to adjust - no digital controll....shower should have had a double curtain to prevent water on the bathroom floor...card swiper worked intermittently on door....neighborhood was very rough...did not feel comfortable walking...toilet 50/50 to flush properly...continental breakfast was ok but not enough seating...pull out couch should have had its own comforter...refrigerator was small and not very cold....no ice machine on 5th floor - sign said lobby or 4th floor - 4th floor machine was not working....pizza machine in lobby was broken....fitness room disappointing - two treadmills and one other machine...walked to Dunkin Donuts at 8:00PM and they were closed...McDonalds across street open 24 hrs. Pleasantly surprised by the 2 rm suite.Quite comfortable. Hotel staff despite being swamped was very pleasant and helpful. Location a bit away from the city center - not an issue for me as I like to walk but they do provide a shuttle to different parts of the city. I really love the history of the building. The suite was beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful. Only problem was the walls were so thin we could hear EVERYTHING in the next room and it was uncomfortable having to explain to my daughter that the woman next door was not beign hurt.
