Mill Park Hotel - Donegal

This was once a lovely hotel for sure and the sitting areas a very nice. But the bed was so unbelievably uncomfortable that it was hard to see anything else. Isn't the bed the most important part? I think so. The rest of the room was ok - tired is the best word I can think of. The staff was pleasant, but when we arrived early and out room wasn't ready […] (which was fine, of course) they suggested we have tea while we wait and they would let us know when the room was available. Staff in the pub went to check to see if our room was ready but no one ever came back. Then we couldn't find anyone to pay for the tea. Out of sight, out of mind... The location is spectacular for sure. The price for this room was a bargain, but now I know why. If you don't sleep, it probably isn't worth the savings. Read more

The hotel has a pool, jacuzzi and gym and the room we stayed in was sizeable and comfortable. We did report a problem with the plumbing on departure. Hotel very close to Donegal town. The hotel was very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was wonderful. The swimming pool and leisure facilities were of a very high standard. Would highly recommend the hotel for a family break or romantic get away.

Don't book Mill House if you're looking for a relaxing/romantic weekend... Upon arrival we had to fight our way through 500 wedding guests blocking the foyer.. then after battling to check in and having to yell over all the noise we decided to go for a swim to relax only to find the pool full of kids. The attendant even asked my girlfriend not to hug […] me in the pool as it might offend the kids. We also made the mistake of eating in the hotel, food was ok, but the experience was ruined by the constant PA announcements yelling instructions at the wedding guests. We took a walk outside to escape the mayhem after dinner only to find wedding guests using the reception area as a public toilet... delightful. The hotel staff said they host 100 weddings a year so it would seem this is the norm rather than an exception to it. We won't be going back. Read more

This hotel is on a quiet street just off the main town which is only a 5 minute walk so was just ideal for us. The staff are extremely polite, very helpful and welcoming. Bon hôtel, les chambres et salles de bain étaient propres. Le personnel accueillant. Il se trouve à côté d'une route où il y a du passage et il y avait du monde dans l'hôtel donc un peu moins calme pour manger le soir et au breakfast. Le petit déjeuner était copieux.
