Regency Inn & Suites - St. Augustine (and vicinity)

Second time staying here. You get what you pay for. If you're going to spend most your time outside the room and on the beach or hitting tourist joints, no problem. But, it ain't the Ritz so don't expect it! Great location to walk to beach. It's right across the street. Short drive to St. Augustine tourist traps. Biggest beef--I don't think I have EVER […] used a more uncomfortable towel to dry off after a shower. If you have the slightest bit of sunburn you better use your beach towel to dry off because you'll be in even more pain after using their towels! Roughest towels I've ever used in my life. Also, the shower took 10 minutes to drain after each usage. We could have collected the sand and made our own beach on the bathroom floor after three days of showers. Otherwise, rooms were clean. Maids did a good job of room service while we were gone. For price I'd stay again. Read more

hotel location was great very accessible to beach. Pr iced just right only problems I had was bed uncomfor table too hard, they could have invested in better pillows and towels overall I give 3.5 out 5 ratings.

I understand that you sometimes get what you pay for and while i wasn't expecting it to be of 5 star quality i was very disapointed in the fact that the room looked nothing like the pictures,not only did i feel like i had stepped into a 70's time warp with the decor but i had a more comfortable sleep the second night by sleeping on the floor! The towels […] looked dingy and i had to ask for new ones after finding hair in them once they were unfolded,there were burns and smoke stains throughout my nonsmoking room. It is just what it's advertised. A renovated motel located in a great spot-beach across A1A. Front desk was helpful. One child was reajrill at 1 am & front desk was e beach accommodating. Pleasantly surprised and very happy with the Regency. Our room had been updated, which included new carpet, bathroom tile and very comfortable new beds. We booked thru Hotels.com and this place was more affordable than others in the same area. The main draw back was that it was not on the beach with ocean view. For the price, I did expect a newer hotel room, but it was clean. I always wonder why hotels dont clean up the rusty suitcase stands and rust around fixtures. The hotel room had a strong smell of clorox, almost too strong. But it was clean and comfortable.

We found the room to be in excellent condition. It appeared to have been recently remodeled. The outside of the hotel at first didn't give me too great of an impression as it appeared a little rundown. The room's condition overcame my reservations about the place.

After having no luck getting the nearby Super 8 to honor a coupon, I turned to hotels.com only to discover a much cheaper--and better rated--option immediately next door! I learned my lesson: never doubt hotels.com! I quickly made the reservation and then headed into the office, where the friendly […] agent pulled my reservation fresh off the fax machine and cheerfully checked me in. I was quite surprised to arrive at a very pleasant, well-appointed room that was clean and comfortable with modern furnishings. Ths is an excellent value, across the highway to a lovely section of beach, helpful staff, and an adequate breakfast, clean rooms.. No decafe coffee brewed at the breakfast was disappointing. The only real negative was the pillows' poor quality.
