We decided to stay in West Ashley and this hotel was the only one with availability, so we booked it even if it was $179/night. It was close to downtown,... which is what we were looking for and in a safe area. It was clean and the room was a good enough size for the 2 of us. I might consider staying in North Charleston in a nicer hotel for the same price or lower, even if it is a few miles farther away from downtown the next time we visit. by Li from Jacksonville, FL on 05/13/13

This was a second choice after we went to a Days Inn and left within an hour because the room was so disgusting. The Best Western was very nice, clean and just as close to Charleston. I would recommend it.

We have stayed at this hotel 2 nights and overall this hotel was OK for the short stay. It has everything we needed, staff was pleasant and friendly. Rooms were little dirty but overall upkeep was OK. It was cold the night we were staying and the small vent window in the bathroom was not closing tight so we had to have heater going all night long.

The overall quality feels like a low end motel. For a brief one night stay with a dog, it was tolerable. Complimentary breakfast was OK with the basics. Amenities are not much to speak of. Surrounding neighborhood was so so, about 10 minutes to Charleston. If not for the dog, the pricing would be too high and not worth the $.

The room was large, and the bed comfortable. The staff seemed to talk loudly late into the night and early morning. They may not have been aware their voices carried so well. The breakfast was the basic waffle, or cold cereal so it was not a surprise. The front desk in the afternoon was not especially helpful. We returned our rental car and the gentleman […] indicated the shuttle ran every half hour and would pick us up. We returned the car, but the shuttle did not appear,however another hotels shuttle offered to drive. He said the shuttle drivers cover for each other. That was great to hear. When we checked in the receptionist told us they had accidentally sold our room but immediately upgraded us to a suite so we were very happy with that. The hotel allowed dogs which was great! The hotel is conviniently located ca 3 miles to Charleston downtown. It is clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. However, our stay was ruined by the fact our room was damp. As soon as we entered the room, we could smell the high humidity in the air. Even the bed sheets felt moist. We informed the front desk and someone was sent in to have a look. […] But nothing changed during the two days we stayed there. The bedding was moist and was uncomfortable to sleep in. - The hotel should have done something about the humidity (possiblely caused by air-con), such as providing a dehumidifier after our complain. friendly employees! Disgusting coffee Layout hotel is not customer friendly, too many steps and hallways to get to the room. Overall the experience was OK. Good for the price.

The rooms are clean. The beds are *very* comfortable. We stayed during a heat wave at the end of june and the AC was great. The pool was nice and clean if a bit crowded at times. The continental breakfast was good and they really kept it well stocked. Some of the furniture and fixtures were a little worn. My biggest complaint was that we booked a Poolside […] View Queen room but when we arrived for check in there wasn't one available so they gave us a King room at the very back of the hotel. This really messed up our second day. We had to completely repack our stuff, reload the car and then unpack again in the Queen size room. Also every night that we came back to our room there were no parking spots available close to our room. Even with the difficulties that I've mentioned, I would stay here again because it's a decent place to stay for the price and it's within a few minutes of most of the areas we like to visit (friends, downtown charleston, folly beach). I have stayed at the Best Western Sweetgrass Inn previously and I would stay there again. It is a nice hotel, great staff, friendly and helpful. Comfortable rooms, not too expensive, quiet, nice breakfast fare. Just enjoyable, overall!

the service and kindness here at this hotel was so nice everyone was so great and thoughtful the breakfast was great. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family/ We will be going back to Charleston and will stay here

Loved the landscape and the Swimming Pool was " GREAT ! As for the room, The Refrigerator was not cleaned out. There was food left in it and the carpet was Soiled. The rest was GREAT!

My experience at the Best Western hotel was an overall decent place. Only a few scratches that can be buffed out. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and not too cluttered.
