Best Western Mardi Gras Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas

I really liked my stay here, the shuttle to and from Bally's which is right on the strip was very convenient. We were easily on the strip without strip prices. The employees were all very friendly and accommodating. The room was big and comfortable.

Liked Shuttle service, though I couldn't use it because I landed after 11:00PM. Hotel is clean though dated. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with refrigerator, coffee maker, and flat screen TV. It is a short two block walk to the Las Vegas Convention Center and Train Station. They provide shuttle to and from Ballys' Casino in the center of the Vegas […] Strip if you want to do night life and dinning. Location was fine, I did notice a security person walking the parking lot. I was there for work and did not spend much time in the room. For a room facing the street it was quiet. Overall no complaints.

I was told when i booked my room, that a roll-a-way bed would be available and that you offer a comp. breakfast, and when i checked in none of these items where apart of what i was told i paid for and that you don't offer them. I do come to Vegas at least a few times a month for business, and I will not consider or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pros: Nice showerhead, nice toiletries, large room, no resort fee or deposit, quiet. Cons: Bed is rock hard, the sheets were old and dingy, the musty smell was overwhelmingly bad, I did not feel safe in the parking lot, there was only a thin blanket and sheet to cover self (no comforter or anything resembling a comforter), front desk associate was filing […] and did not want to be interrupted by checking me in, only one bath towel provided. I am not a picky person when it comes to hotels. I completely realize you get what you pay for. However, this one was really bad, and I don't think I got my money's worth even though it was a decent price. Fortunately my stay was only for one night. very convenient location for access to convention center- clean rooms really nice and helpful staff with comfortable beds. Didnt like the smokey slots in the lobby/ resteraunt, but thats the only thing wrong. but if your looking for economy and good value with a pool- this is it.

Overall a good stay. The monorail is close, and they have an hourly free shuttle to Bally's. The couch cushions were flat, and the mattress was pretty soft, but that's ok because I didn't come to Las Vegas to sleep and sit on a couch.

The hotel needs serious improvements in appearance as well as visual attractiveness. Looks like it remains stuck in the 1970s. The only thing good about this hotel (motel, really) is that it's located close to the LV convention center, and the wait-staff at the restaurant are nice people. Other than that, it's a loser. Here's why: A) the clientele is quite mixed, but mostly 'low-income' travelers and some unsavory looking locals inhabit the place. B) Three times I had pizza […] flyers pushed through the gap under my door. Kind of disturbing when you're standing there in your shorts. C) The wi-fi is basically unusable. Better bring your phone and use it as a hotspot is you need to connect. D) The room doors are exterior doors. If, like mine, your door is facing a back parking lot, considering the type of people you see around there, the possibility of a break-in, or worse, is not a remote one. To top it off, most of my first afternoon was spent listening to a tattooed truck driver's stereo blaring in the parking lot outside my room while he polished his 18 wheeler. When I complained about these things to the manager, he said he couldn't switch my room or give me a refund because the reservation had been pre-paid (baloney). His solution was to comp my breakfast to the tune of a few dollar. My solution is to voice my complaint here and elsewhere, so that you, dear traveler, do not have to experience what I did. The management allowed smoking at the bar which is IN the onsite restaurant. Trying to eat the steak dinner we had ordered and enjoy it while coughing on smoke was not cool. The steak was good, but again, ruined by the cigarette smoke. Will not stay there again, nor recommend the hotel because of it.

Nothing entirely wrong about this hotel, and I wouldn't avoid it, but overall it's just not as nice as large hotels in the same price range (after finding a good deal). That's not to say it's overpriced, however with a bit of shopping its usually not hard to find something more modern. If you are just driving through LV then this hotel is convenient. […] Unfortunately being in LV, being inexpensive and containing a casino this hotel attracts a certain kind of clientele: who like to honk their horns at night, who are more likely to drunkenly stumble in to your room door multiple times a night, who walk around in a cloud of smoke. This is not the hotels fault. To get a nicer hotel at a similar price in LV for a longer stay you need to find a really really good deal at a much more expensive hotel. This is actually, not very hard. Indeed, recently I found deals for the condos at the MGM and Vdara for around $70 per night during my stay in LV last month. These places are night and day better than any small hotel in LV. However, lasts weeks stay in LV was for only one night and I didn't want to drive a long distance from the highway I so I stayed at the Mardi Gras. Read more
