I came to Atlanta for the ballgames; Braves and Falcons. This hotel is very convenient for both and the staff were all helpful and courteous. The walk to Turner field is close and easy, even if you are not in shape. Beware of shuttle service used by hotel. Rooms need some modernization, although they were clean. Parking was overpriced at $18 a day to park yourself seeing as how the Westin downtown is $20 a day with Valet parking. Expedia offered this hotel under a "blind booking" type of deal. Stated it was 3 or 4 stars downtown Atlanta, GA. The rate seemed quite reasonable so I went ahead and took a chance. The hotel is very dated. Parking is confusing as there is a tiny area in front of the hotel-no staff to direct traffic and a gated area you cannot enter unless your checked […] in....Problem with this is there's not any space to park in front of the building. The elevator lifts are as slow as molasses and ladies of the night were in the lobby when our family returned from a night at Medieval Times. Breakfast is severely overpriced for a buffet which offers frozen hash browns, powdered eggs and old faded cloth napkins. The hotel is in dire need of updating and quality control. My stay was very nice, because the staff, housekeeping , grille attendant/waitresses made you really feel welcome in every area . No matter what was needed all were right there. "make your own bed"
We checked in at 5PM. The room was used and obviously had not been cleaned. We went back to the front desk, waited over an hour for a clean room. Told we would get our pillowcases shortly. Got to the room. Called the front desk to request towels and a shower cap. Ordered room service at 730PM. Specifically requested mustard, ketchup, salt and mayo. […] The food arrived without mayo, salt or ketchup. They sent us hot sauce instead. I called room service for the salt, mayo, and ketchup. By the time it arrived the french fries were cold. We ordered a movie. The picture was fuzzy and there was static. Called the front desk. They sent up a maintainance man. He told us to reorder the movie. He called the front desk and told us we would not be charged for two movies. At 9PM called the front desk to find out when to expect our linens. At 930PM someone came to our room to ask what we needed. At ten PM he returned with our pillowcases and towels but told us they did not have any shower caps. I got to make our bed, I put the pillowcases on. The next morning my hotel bill had 2 movie charges on it. I went to the front desk and had the clerk take off the second movie charge and print up a final receipt. This is the most pooerly manged hotel I have ever stayed in in Atlanta. We stopped in Atlanta to go to a Braves game on our way to Florida. We thought this hotel would be perfect since we wouldn't have to worry about parking and traffic, we could just walk to the game. Check-in is supposed to be at 3:00, and we arranged to arrive at 3:30. Upon arrival, we were told rooms weren't ready yet, but to come back to the desk at […] 4:00 to check in. I went up at 3:45 to check-in to try to avoid the long line- I got 3rd in line from the desk! Then, I waited 1 hr and 45 minutes in line to finally check in. We didn't get our room key until after 5:30. Once we got to our room, our carpet was disgustingly wet. We decided to just let it go, and get to the game- hoping it'd be dry by the time we got back. It wasn't. It was still wet and sticky. Also, the air conditioner didn't work, and the shower barely had any water coming out. I have never written a review before, especially a bad one, but this hotel was beyond terrible. I will NEVER stay here again, and recommend the same for everyone else. I picked this hotel because of the close proximity to Turner Field. A member of my party had a foot injury, and i contacted the hotel several days before my trip to confirm that they did have shuttle service to and from the ballpark, and was told the shuttle made trips every 30 mins. Check inn took forever and this was just the start of our horrible experience. We got to our room and tried to shower but there was only hot water water. The cold water would not work. We used to stay here all the time when it was the Holiday Inn. Never had any problems. But this new company and staff are terrible. The front desk staff were useless and the cleaning staff were all very rude. We will never stay at this place again and are glad the Braves are moving away from this location in 2017.
