"Not The Best At All"
I find it hard to believe that staying in a hotel that isn't very nice at all requires $20 extra to park. Yes. It is loacted right by the Braves stadium but someone who pays $150 for a one night stay, shouldn't have to pay to park their car where they lay their head. They also wanted to charge $30 for 2 people to eat breakfast. No thanks. This place […] has bumped their head when it comes to "bang for the buck". Not worth the money at all. "Very convenient to Downtown and local shopping"
Booked with an unpublished rate, so I did not actually choose this hotel, but did rely upon the ratings range. The hotel did not disappoint within the range for price and quality. The staff makes all the difference, though, if you are choosing this property. Front reception staff, housekeeping, engineering (fridge and microwave delivered to my room), […] and van driver staff was all amazing and deserves top marks for all their great service. The pool was clean but closed, I was sad that I could not smoke a cigar at one of the poolside tables or take a dip. My only complaint about my visit in its entirety is that the pool should be heated and open year round. My stay was in late March 2014. Bathroom was surprisingly nice with marble throughout. Great location , my first room, yes I said first room had lady bugs in it, the room it self and the hall way smelled of musk and like wine o's had been living in it.. I asked for a different room the first night I arrived because of the ladybugs, and was told at first a new room key would be sent up to me and my family so that we could change rooms, […] I was only staying at the hotel from Wednesday to Sunday only to find out two hours later that the lady bugs where mating and that all the rooms had them so there would be no changing of the room this was told to me only after calling the front desk to find out what happened to them bringing a key. Whenever the hotel doesn't have pictures of the rooms...run. When we arrived, there was only one person working the front desk and a line. It took approximately 45 minutes to check in. The website said it was 1.4 or so miles to the Georgia Dome... It was on the other side of the interstate. My family walked there but it was a long way and they did not feel safe. "Close to GSU but needs updating"
I stayed at the hotel because I was presenting at a conference hosted by GSU. Since I was out of town on business, I rely heavily on the hotels I stay at for food and accommodations. Sadly, there are no restaurants near the hotel, and the hotel restaurant is lacking. Really, a big part of it is the bad smell in there. I always felt a bit unaccommodated […] in my room because there was no bathroom counter space (so I had to put on makeup and fix hair here, there and everywhere!), and I had no information booklet to tell me about food, the hotel or calling the front desk. However, everyone working at the hotel was very nice. To me, that's #1. Since being alone from out of town can be lonely and frustrating, I always felt better knowing that I could ask questions and receive answers. While the room was clean enough I cannot say I was totally happy with our stay. It may be a small thing but all of the pillows were 1/3 the size of a standard pillow and when we asked for a standard pillow were told they did not have any. "Probably was once a nice place...but no longer"
Very expensive (after fees for parking and pet) with very bad service and dirty, old accommodations. We called 10 minutes before we booked to check if they had a restaurant on site and we were told yes. We arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later and found that the restaurant and room service had closed early without notice (because they did not have […] enough customers). The front desk person was unapologetic about not telling us this on the phone. We have a child with a nut allergy and had to beg them to make a hamburger patty for him even though it was during their business hours. The cook was nice enough and did make the patty despite having already shut down his grill, but as a result they charged us the room service fee for a total of $18.11 for the patty. Keep in mind, we did not get bread or condiments or fries or anything. Just a kids hamburger patty. A patty we would have ordered at the restaurant if they had not closed early. AND when we ordered it they told us they could not tell us the price until they brought it up to our room. Since it was 10pm and we'd been on the road all day we placed the order thinking we'd pay $10. But no, we paid almost double that. Also, the Breakfast buffet did not happen as advertised (again, due to no customers). Also, and this is of course more common in older hotels, they had very thin walls, dirty carpets and dingy decor. The roon was okay. The mattress was too soft and "springy" which made it a little uncomfortable to sleep. The cleaning crew forgot to fill new towels and toilet papers. I had to go to the front desk to ask for some on several occasions. Parking was NOT free. I was charged extra for parking on top of my room rate. The evening driver was very friendly and entertaining, but the weekend morning driver was very rude. As we were getting ready it check out, I asked the driver when he will be leaving. This was at 9:59AM. My brother was walking towards the main door to get on to the shuttle, and the driver pulled off. My brother gave the driver a wave gesturing that he wanted to get on the shuttle. We was so disappointed in how the driver pulled off, we did not want to wait to get on with the same driver. The Internet did not work our entire stay. They charged $75 for my 18 lb dog which was non refundable. They do not have an area to walk the dog. Parking was $18 per night. The dining room was late opening and not everything was ready for the buffet. They were trying to mop the floor in the food area while we were trying get to prepare our breakfast. Check in went smoothly. Online it stated rooms with refrigerators & microwaves were available upon request. We asked for a room with a refrigerator & were told it would cost an additional $12per night fee & that one would be delivered to our room. We ended up having to call a while later & were told it would be delivered in about 15 minutes which it […] was. It had obviously not been plugged up in a while nor had it been cleaned. There was a very strong odor & a few hairs inside...gross! The usual in room toiletries had not been replenished & there was no trashcan in the bathroom.
