Very pleased with hotel personnel; they recognized me and knew my name (6 day stay). All staff very friendly/helpful, esp. reception desk and valet. Clean room at all times. Only gripe was next to ice machine, am light sleeper, but sound proofing was good. Let reception desk know and they were willing to accommodate me but no need to change b/c hardly […] heard ice machine. Hotel close to all my destinations; some very good restaurants within walking distance. Not a bad place to stay, especially considering the location. It was a little ho-hum in my opinion. Considering the 4.5 out of 5 star guest rating, I expected a little more but in actuality, it is a 2.5 star hotel. I would say it is more in line with the 2.5 star hotel class of hotels (Best Western, Holiday Inn etc). Staff was exactly as nice as they […] needed to be, nothing more, nothing less. The free Wireless was a joke. Only the most basic of sites could be loaded. We could not watch Netflix. Oh, and we wanted to watch Netflix because oddly, they don't have Pay-Per-View movies anymore. The TV had to be cycled on and off several times for the channels to load correctly but it was a nightmare to get to a channel because you could only use the up and down channel buttons on the remote and they had at least 50 unnecessary music channels. We did not partake in the free breakfast so I can not review that. There was a Qdoba across the street that served fantastic breakfast burritos. When you book this place, expect a basic no frills stay. Perfect for a quick in and out business traveler. Not great for a weekend get-away. Read more

Stayed here for a few days, and enjoyed my stay here. Staff was nice, and close by to a lot of restaurants and stores, especially off of Magnificent Mile. If I'm ever in Chicago, may stay here again.

It was disgusting. Mold, cracked tiles, hair. Gross. The room temperature was set to 55 degrees. Breakfast was really messy and disorganized. Definitely not what JW Marriott would expect from a subsidiary brand. This was my first and last stay at this Fairfield.

This was a last minute trip to downtown Chicago for a meeting in the morning. Rather than fight traffic, we decided to drive into downtown the evening before the meeting. The reviews on this hotel were good, so we went for it and we are very happy that we did. The location is great, right in the heart of the City. The guest services manager and staff […] working on August 6 were very friendly, very helpful and made us feel at home right away. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and the bed is comfy. There are lots of places to eat in walking distance that stay open late. Even on a Monday night, the area is hoppin! Yes, I absolutely would stay at this hotel again. The rate was good, the breakfast was good. The place was clean and the staff was nice. What more could you want. Only bummer is $33.00 extra to park a block away, but that was ok and we felt safe walking back from the ramp to the hotel. They have a valet to park you car if you want for an extra charge. I recently came back from my first visit to Chicago. I knew I wanted to stay near the Magnificent Mile. I chose this hotel based on other travellers' reviews - very glad I did! Good location, about a block and a half away from Michigan Avenue and about a 20 min walk to Navy Pier. The hotel doesn't offer a shuttle service but you can easily get to the […] hotel by train, which took about an hour from O'Hare. I got a standard room with a queen bed. It may be cozy for a couple, but adequate for the solo traveller (like I was). My room was safe, clean and quiet. If I had one bad thing to say about my room, it would be the bathroom, which could have been better designed. The door barely clears the toilet when you open or close it. It made for awkward mornings trying to manoeuver around the door, but really it did not detract from my overall experience. Free wi-fi and breakfast. When we came back from shopping there was a bag of Garrett's popcorn with a note telling her happy birthday. They stored our luggage for several hours when we checked out, until we had to leave for the airport. My husband and I walked about 10mins to Navy Pier and we could walk up and down the street to find all sorts of shopping such as Gucci, Banana Republic, Coach, Old Navy, H&M, Nordstrom Rack, and many others.
