"Great hotel for a family"
Everything about this hotel was great. We have a family of 5, which includes two newborns, and the size of the room to the hotel providing cribs at no extra charge was perfect. Our only complaint was during check out at which it took the bellmen a significant amount of extra time to get to our room and collect our things.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just Off Michigna Ave"
Hotel was great and easy to get around from this location. Very close to Navy Pier and shopping. Great Happy Hour and Breakfast offered as part of your room cost. The only negative was a couple of the staff (front desk and banquet staff) were a little snooty. After speaking with them and having a conversation they seemed to come around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun family times!"
Convenient to attractions. Love the breakfast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Really enjoyed staying here. We got here early and were able to register at 1pm, which was great! The room was clean and large enough for our family of 4 (with 2 young kids). Close to Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, and restaurants. Concierge helpful, but spoke quickly. Love the Manager's Reception, and so does everyone else. The lines were long for drinks […] and snacks. Be prepared to wait to get your one drink at a time somehow some people got more than one drink (wine mainly) at a time. Breakfast was great. If you get there early, say 7:30 there is no wait and tables are available, but by 8:30 there is a super long line for omelets. Pool was good with towels to use. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Our room looked over Lake Michigan and it was just a few blocks from the Navy Pier. They had complimentary drinks and appetizers in the evening and a full complimentary breakfast which was better then anywhere else I have stayed. When I return to Chicago I will deffinetly be staying at the Embassy Suites Lakefront […] again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great family hotel."
The location is perfect. Quick walk to the lake and Navy Pier. The free breakfast is great. Makes things much easier when you have kids. We had a rainy day and were able to walk to the movie theatre and bowling alley without going outside.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"a great value"
We were amazed with the quality and quantity of food provided for breakfasts. Although we did not take part in the happy hour cocktails and appetizers, the atrium in the hotel provided a lovely setting. I tried the pool for some exercise and got in the hot tub. Both were clean and just off the atrium. We feel the business plan used for this downtown […] Chicago hotel is really good. They were packing the hotel with families and children's groups affordably. We opted for the public parking garage next door, but were told we could use the valet parking for a secure place to store our bicycles on a future trip. We will definitely return to this hotel. "Very nice hotel"
This was the first time staying at an Embassy Suites hotel. We spent one night in Chicago on way home with family. Very nice hotel. We enjoyed the welcome reception in the lobby and the free hot breakfast with made to order omelets, was awesome. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Family of 4 staying 5 days...... Close to everything! Finding a table at hotel night reception and breakfast can be tricky. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome place to stay"
This was one of my better choices for this trip. We stayed only three blocks from the pier and could walk less than a mile to the Taste. The hotel staff was very friendly. The valet staff was especially nice and very professional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for families"
Overall, this is the place to stay for families - convenient location, roomy suites, good breakfast and facilities including washers and dryers on two floors make it a home away from home kind of experience. Two people stand out for their courteous attention and friendly, helpful manner and they are Dwayne (the bell) and the male concierge (whose name […] I didn't get) - Dwayne was the first and last person to greet us during our stay and the concierge is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to directions & advice. "Good hotel, great location"
We enjoyed the hotel and the complementary breakfast was great! Our hotel room smelly a little musty and the carpet floors were damp and the sticky in places. I wish they had a vending machime for all the guests. There is one on the 17th floor, but it is for guests on that floor only. There is no where to buy snacks after the gift shop closes. Staff […] were friendly and helpful! Overall a nice experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was ok room was nice. Toilet looked bad. Did not care for the breakfast. To many people ( Parents not watching there kids). NO smile from the staff at all. When we checked in there were three people but only one was working. After a few minutes of standing there she finally waited on us.. Hotel was nice but not ok with your staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean and convenient"
We stayed at the Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown - Lakefront for two nights. We had no complaints whatsoever. Breakfast was exceptionally good!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Best looking staff...made you want to order room service for the eye candy...lolGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Only negative thing I can say about our stay is that our room wasn't ready even an hour after it was supposed to be available. We were offered another room and received a discount for our troubles. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and the hotel is in a great location as it is a short walk to Navy Pier and Magnificent Mile. We would definitely […] stay there again. "Decent value for the area"
Prime location in downtown Chicago attractions, but inconvenient to access the "skylobby" and parking labyrinth from street level. Rooms were overpriced and a bit run down compared to other places in the same vicinity. The bathroom ventilation fan did not function and there were no coffee cups in the room, but at least the water was hot. Staff were […] capable but overall service was just not quite as courteous as I have seen elsewhere. If it is important to you, the pool was tiny and could hardly accommodate a dozen guests comfortably. For the money, it was acceptable for a few days but you could do better. "Great location for the price"
This is nice hotel in a great location to Navy Pier and other downtown sites. It was extremely busy so the breakfast was crazy. The staff was very pleasant and handled the crowds well. Just realize that this is not the hotel for a relaxing, quiet time--at least during the busy summer months.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything we needed"
We stayed at the hotel the nights of July 3-4 in order to do some shopping and take in the July 4 fireworks at Navy Pier. The hotel provided all of the services we required. My only suggestion would be to find a way to make the line for drinks during the happy hours shorter. We were only interested in having soft drinks but we had to wait in the same […] line with everyone wanting alcholic beverages. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Roomy, but a few maintenance issues"
Overall, our stay was average. The air conditioning wasn't very cool when we arrived but maintenance responded quickly and changed the filter which helped. Although the room was clean, everything seemed to stay damp. The bathroom light flickered every time you turned it on and the toilet ran a lot. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was good, but […] the lines were long. The breakfast staff were extremely friendly and did a great job. Desk staff gave conflicting info about parking in the garage and getting in and out, and you had to take several different elevators to get to your room and garage. You could also easily hear your neighbors. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best hotel I've ever stayed in"
This hotel was a WONDERFUL experience. I will definitely stay here every time I go to Chicago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed the hotel and room very much. The staff was very nice. Only negative was the wait for drinks during the happy hour and breakfast. But it is included so I really couldn't complain. I thought the location was great. We could walk to different restaurants but did take a cab to the aquarium and museum.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Convenient to all thingsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent Service, parking garage was a little confusing but very convenient to hotel! Manager reception was excellent, free adult drinks for 2 hrs!!! Easy walk to Navy Pier, and Michigan Ave! The room was amazingly clean, double bed suite, beds are full size, but the suite had a comfy couch and oversized chair along with a table and chairs and large […] ottoman. We were extremely pleased with our stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel itself if nice enough and it is in a good location. The staff did not honor even simple requests like non-feather pillows. We were supposed to have a "premium" room with access to free wifi, a docking station and a refreshment center. We received none of those until our last night there (and actually never received a docking station). Overall […] it was a frustrating process. Stay here if you aren't expecting too much and don't mind having to take 3 elevators from your car to your hotel room. That's right...3 separate elevators. Also, the line for breakfast was very, very long and frequently ran out of food. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room hit and thin walls."
The rooms were very hot and the walls were thin. The combination of the baby crying late at night and early in the morning combined with the hot room made for miserable sleeping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spacious, very well located hotel"
Very courteous and attentive staff; the breakfast is great, a whole meal in itself. If you need to stay downtown it is a great option.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My Chiciago trip"
The hotel was good, the staff was just okay. The location was great. The cost was very pricey!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location of the hotel was great. Be prepared for the parking fees, though. The parking is the same for all customers that use. It is not private for the hotel and there is no break in price for hotel guests. It was very expensive for a weeks stay. Also the hotel was nice but the design of the carpet against the wallpaper gives you vertigo. Anyone […] with a fear of heights or confined spaces should ask for a lower level room, as the elevators are glass, as well as the railings that overlook hotel lobby. "For the price... there are better options"
Not impressed, unfortunate because expectations were different based on the reputation of the chain and the room price. We arrived early to the 4pm check-in, opting to leave our bags and return later. Were told rooms would be ready by 2pm. Our bags were left in the ground-floor lobby, next to the elevators and street entrance, away from any watchful […] eye (concerning!). We came back at 2pm, rooms were not ready, but we were told we could pay an add'l early check-in fee to get settled before the 4pm time. 1) How do we check in early if the rooms aren't ready? 2) If you told us to check in at 2, why would you then insist on the add'l fee? When making the reservation, we were assured 2 adjacent (not adjoining) rooms. Request wasn’t honored. The layout is reminiscent of spring break party hotels we used to book in college. Huge center atrium with rooms arranged around the open space. Kind of neat, but also very loud and "echo-y". Walls of the rooms are extremely thin, too, so it made for noisy evening. It took 2 1/2 hours for our bags to be brought to our room. AC wasn't working properly. TV in the bedroom would not turn on. Bedside clock wasn't working. I about stroked at the valet parking cost (use the MUCH cheaper self-park!). Location is fine, convenient to Navy Pier. But, amenities of the immediate neighborhood were lacking. Better options for a stay in this area would be the Sheraton or the Hyatt Regency a block and half up, across the river. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Besides the soap, great stay"

"Great hotel, courteous staff, oustanding concierge"
I enjoyed every second of it. The staff was professional and ensure we felt right at home. I would highly recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location is perfect for walking to locations. The staff at the hotel are wonderful! The beds were not that great and i did not like the way the hotel is set up - it was inconvenient to use separate elevators to get to different parts of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location & breakfast but smokey room"
Everything about this hotel was top notch except for our "non-smoking" hotel room. It was quite evident that it was a smoking room at one time as we were instantly greeted by a stale smoke smell upon entering our room. Can't say enough about the evening reception & breakfast though! It is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was ok. Pretty expensive for one night. I think that valet parking should be a perk and be free. Other than that, the stay was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comedy of errors"
I have had good experiences in the past with this hotel and the brand in general, but the poor service and declining condition of the hotel changed my mind. I will never stay at an Embassy Suites again. We tried for an early check-in but were asked to come back later, and when we arrived at 6:00 I was told that our two-bed reservation had an issue: […] there were no more rooms available with two beds. What is the point of a reservation??? So I had paid extra for a fold-out couch and steel bar in my back. When we got to the room there was no soap or toiletries, and the TV in the living room didn't work (I tried many things). The outlets near the desk were also dead and we had to move a couch and unplug a lamp to charge our phones. We had also upgraded to a premium experience that include complementary snack machine access, but the machines were out of order. The next morning at checkout the machine that processes the parking garage tickets was out of order. A sign directed me to the first concourse level for a cashier, and of course the office was closed. The bellman pointed me to another machine near the exit of the garage, and luckily that one worked. Overall the cleanliness of the room was very good, and the one bed we did have was very comfortable (according to my wife and daughter). I also enjoyed breakfast as usual. Overall it was very disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent choice for groups"
Excellent breakfast! Which is included in the price. Also there is a "happy hour" that lasts for 2-3 hours with free drinks and food ( nothing fancy--veggies, cheese etc) in the early evening. Great deal for families and groups.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a wonderful time at the hotel this past weekend. Very nice suites and amnesties. Only thing that was weird was that the shower didn't have a fan but otherwise perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a nice hotel and great location. It would be nice if parking was included with your stay, that was an extra huge expense I was not expecting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel close to all the amenities"
I would highly recommend this hotel. It is within walking distance to the Navy Pier and Magnificent Mile. The breakfast every morning was great - made to order omelets and biscuits and gravy, as well as anything else you can think of - hot and cold. There were nice free snacks and drinks every evening - chips and dips, pasta salad, warm soft pretzels […] and cheese, etc. The hotel staff - particularly the maids- were excellent. They cleaned our room quickly, efficiently, and it was very, very clean each day we stayed there. All in all, a great hotel for your money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I love the hotel. This is the second time staying at this specific location and the second time we had difficulty with air conditioning system/heating system. Maintanence was quick to fix though. Valet was very slow at bringing the car around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the middle of it all"
Loved it! Beyond the typical expectation of a clean, quiet hotel...the breakfast is a grand American style with pretty much everything you'd expect with a cook to order omelet service. The hotel is so central -- 5 min walk to Nay Pier, 2 blocks to Magnificient Mile and shopping/dining. The bus and cta lines are all within blocks, the water taxis and […] tours are only four blocks away and if you rent bikes at Navy Pier, you can ride down to the Planetarium, Field Museum, Aquarium and Soldier Field within 15 minutes. We didn't know this until later--the bus took over 30 minutes!! And, do all the shopping you want because the UPS store is less than 3 blocks away to ship it all home!! We took our four kids and stayed in a suite. The service was impeccable. The pool & hot tub were clean and there were always more than enough towels at poolside. They could use more seating there, however. And, at checkout, they arranged for a private SUV ride back to the airport. I would definitely stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved the hotel room, breakfast & service! A+"
The hotel was clean, spacious and offered everything we needed for a family of 4. The teenagers slept on the sofa sleeper and my husband and I had a private bedroom. The beds were comfy, we had a microwave, mini frig and even a separate sink in the bedroom. The kids had plenty of room in the living room with the desk, tables and ottoman too. We all […] enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was cooked to order omlettes, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice, tea, milk, etc. And, it was great! The service was fantastic too from the concierge, housekeeping, valet and front desk! A++++++ Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
