At first I was disappointed because this hotel now has you sign how many are in the room. If the number of persons doesn't match what you have written then you could be put out of the hotel with a $200.00 fine. I registered for a king size bed with a pull out sofa. According to hotel that was too many people for the room. However, the heating system in the room that we stayed in was broken. The hotel placed us in a room with a king bed and sofa pull out. There was plenty of room. This made me wonder if they just didn't want me to have the room. That night power went out for about an hour.

Oxford is home to Miami University. Robert Frost once said it had the most beautiful campus that ever there was. Campus attractions include Yager Stadium, Conrad Formal Gardens, handsomely restored 19th-century buildings, and the Sundial. According to tradition, rubbing the turtle heads around the Sundial brings good luck. The Black Covered Bridge, about a mile north of campus, dates from 1869.

Unfortunately most places in Oxford were booked for the weekend. This seemed to have brought up the price for what otherwise should be considered a 2-3 star place. I had stayed there before for more appropriate prices. This time it was too overpriced. Especially when the sheets on the bed seemed wrinkled as in used. Not impressed.

In room tub was a nice surprise - but we arrived late and didn't use it. Bed was hard and felt like there was a plastic sheet under the cotton sheet. Budget decor. Mystery stain on the upholstered chair cushion. Ick.

The receptionist was very nice and helpful when I could not get the wireless Internet service to work, so he offered that he would get the Ethernet cable out for me down in the main lobby (although this is often expected, he was very courteous in doing so).

We stayed there because it was close to Miami University (where we were visiting the next morning). It was clean, had a nice pool area, the room was small, very narrow (could barely pull my cooler through the opening from the bed to the desk/TV stand area). The breakfast was okay (wafflemaker, cereal, toast, etc.) Wish they had some eggs though. The […] beds were not very comfortable (we all had a fitful sleep). The surrounding neighborhood was awful -- very run down houses, businesses closed, buildings in a state of virtually falling down. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The bathroom had not been cleaned. Leftover soap that had been used was still in the sink and bathtub. The room was comfortable. The hotel is close to Miami University. Everything was good except for the yucky soap that had been used. It just made me wonder if they cleaned the bathroom at all.

The toilet broke overnight in our room and we could not adjust the air. When I asked the desk clerk about it she said it was pre-set by the fire dept to not be able to use the air conditioner if it was below 60 outside. It was cold out, however, our room was very warm.
