The staff is friendly, and the room have improved from my last stay. Internet is strong, and the TV's seem new. No toiletries in my room so bring your own shampoo etc. Yes I have stayed many times and I will stay again next week.

Hotel could use some updating, no breakfast, had to request shampoo, no lotions, hair dryer. However, staff was accommodating but only came in after 8:00 am. Provided a lovely fish dinner one evening which was nice. Location was within walking distance of a Red Lobster and other restaurants.

Very comfortable room, a little dated, but extremely clean and taken care of. Staff was very pleasant. Will definitely stay in this hotel again. One bummer - hot tube was out of order, but with the rain and cool weather - not really missed.

We stopped here on our way to Florida. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Our whole family enjoyed a restful night of sleep before continuing on our journey. One shortcoming: I called ahead to request a crib for our baby. When we arrived, the was a portable crib in the room not set up. Other than the fact we were given a room for handicap access because it was the only room available other than a smoking room, It was a wonderful experience and one that I would gladly repeat next time I am in town. The convenience variety of the nearby restaurants rounded out the whole experience.

I was very impressed with my stay in the hotel as well as the receptionists who were very welcoming. The room environment was very quiet even though it was a busy weekend for the hotel. There was no children running the hallway and there was no loud talking from the neighbors. My room was very clean, better than one would keep there own home. Long term stay place for business travelers. I was there for one night. Hallways smelled of smoke, but the room was fine. Office was not open in the morning when I left at 6:30. I would definitely stay there again. Convenient to restaurants and the main area of Decatur.

Because I booked this room for half price, I certainly got my money's worth. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It had plenty of amenities (laundry, pool, discounts to local restaurants, kitchen utensils, etc) But their was a very strong disinfectant odor when I walked in the room...almost as if a huge bottle of cleaner spilled behind the fridge […] and no one was able to clean it up. The bathroom was clean, but the curtain was too short so I always had a big pool of water on the floor after taking a shower. Last, my room was located directly over the entrance so the floor and walls shook everytime someone walked in or out of the building. I would stay there again, but ask for a different room towards the end of the hallway. Read more

Really enjoyed our one-night stay in Decatur at the Hometown Suites. The staff was VERY helpful in recommending some nearby attractions to a couple of Hoosiers a long way from home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants great accomodations, super service and a great value.

This hotel is adequate for a one night stay, but I would not recommend staying there for any extended time. The kitchen was the only plus to this room. Everything else seemed to reflect the price. Our one-year old had black on her knees and the tops of her feet from crawling around on the floor for only about 20 minutes. The tiles in the kitchen were […] sticky. The shower curtain had some mold, though the tub itself looked very clean. There were holes in the comforters. We took a pillow case off one pillow to serve as a light blanket for our baby, and I could see dark black spots inside the pillow. I was just grossed out in general with the cleanliness of the room. I will add that the fridge, stove, sink, and dishes appeared to be clean. The receptionist did tell us they were behind on cleaning, so maybe they did it quickly so we could check-in. Still, there is no excuse for it. I also found the receptionist to be short with us, close to just plain rude. It is a great price, but there is a reason, so make your choice wisely! Read more

Our stay was somewhat disappointing and uncomfortable. Our room was adequate but the facitilities that you boast about were not available to us. We would have liked to use the pool and hot tub but every evening until closing the construction workers gathered to drink and be bousterous near the pool. The hardest part of this hotel was figuring out how to get in! It did not look like a hotel entrance. Plus the door handle was confusing. I pressed the buttons for help at the digital key box and spent about 5-10 minutes trying to access the operator who told me to simply PULL the door, do not turn the handle. Inside the hallways I was claustrophobic […] and felt like I was in a time warp stuck in the 1950's with the weird carpeting and turns in the hallway. The room was a nice surprise after that. Clean. The prior guests who evaluated this hotel must have stayed somewhere we didn't. We arrived late to find the place locked up and after several attempts at following the instructions to enter the lobby, got inside. The office was closed and locked so we were worried we wouldn't be able to get our rooms. After several phone calls on the lobby phone, a […] real person instructed us how to access our room keys in the lock box. There was no obvious directions for arriving guests to follow. Our request for nonsmoking rooms must have gone unnoticed as our room smelled of old cigarettes. There were no hangers on which to hang our clothes and it took a personal trip to the office the next day to get any action.....after already requesting them 12 hours earlier. Yes, it was a suites motel but we did not have any time at midnight to shop for food after a late arrival due to a delayed flight. Breakfast options in the immediate area were nil. Office staff was helpful in giving us information about getting a shuttle to the airport early on our departure date but that's about the only thing good about this place. I'd never stay there again. We stayed in this hotel due to my daughter giving birth in the hospital across the street. It was very convenient due to crossing the road and sleeping in a bed vs. sleeping in the waiting room again. The rooms were nice and clean. Equipped with a full size fridge, stove, sink... Everything you would need at home (dishes, etc.) Conveniently located […] to the Beltline across from Parkway Hospital. Nearby shopping includes the mall, Academy, Walmart, KMart, Target, Publix, FoodWorld, etc. Nearby food includes, Chick Fil A, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Sonic, etc. While we were there, we met a guy staying due to his home being destroyed in the April 2011 tornado. The comfort of staying in a hotel with full ammenities is priceless. The beds were not as soft as mine at home, but were comparable to other hotels (Besides the Marriott), the pool was small, but quite enjoyable not overcrowded. The hot tub was covered, I guess it wasn't season??? I was looking forward to winding down in the hot tub after almost 37 hours of being at the hospital with my daughter in labor. On a positive note, It served it's purpose. I slept across from her, if she needed me, I could have been there in two to three minutes. I was able to get a good night's rest without worrying something would happen, my other two kids enjoyed a night in the pool, we got a hot shower, watched some tv, used the wifi to download pictures on facebook of my new grandbaby, and enjoyed breakfast at Hardee's. This motel was a clean place to stay it was no Courtyard or Hampton but you get what you pay for. I find it difficult to sleep in motels that are questionable, i have a constant fear that i will wake up in the middle of the night with roaches crawling all over the room. We chose this hotel based on the price and the reviews of others. Our family of 4 stayed for 2 nights. The rooms were clean, quite, and comfortable. Although I was giving up on finding this hotel even with GPS, thanks for Decatur's weird road system, when I did, I was very happy with my check-in, because it went fast and the staff was very nice, except they should tell the guests how to connect to the internet, I had to call the front desk from my room to ask for the security key. The bathroom was clean, and a heart-warming text was waiting for me in a frame on the wall. One of my bed wasn't clean though and when I tried to turn the heat on in the room, the fire alarm went off, because of the burning dust. This is our second stay at this hotel. This is a small extended stay hotel. The rooms come with a kitchen including a full size fridge, sink, stove top, microwave, toaster, cooking items utensils and tons of storage cabinets. I got a room with one queen bed to save money but the couch folded out to a small bed, so my ten year old son was thrilled to have his own bed. The queen bed was nice and firm, not worn out at all. The bed linens were of nice quality, as were the bathroom linens. The night was very quiet, and we got a great night's rest. The bath room was basic but sturdy and well maintained, and a good size, not too cramped to move around. For the price, this is an excellent value in a hotel.
