"Obnoxious Porter set the tone..."
The price of the hotel was a bit high. As a frequent traveler I have a lot of experience staying at hotels and initially impressions can set the tone of a hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, I parked the car in front of the hotel with my spouse waiting in the car. The Porter asked me if someone was in the car in case it had to be moved. I went in to […] check-in which was a very quick and efficient process. Even with 3 people in line ahead of me I was checked in and returned to the car under 5 minutes. Returning to my car, I found my souse out of the car in a heated exchange with one of the Porters. It seem, they were in a loud and condensing tone telling them to move the car away for arriving guests. they were concerned they were losing business from taking luggage from other arriving guests. Of which none had arrived since we got there. Up to that point I would have used the Porter but he was so unprofessional, my partner refused to give him the business. Also, this set the tone for our whole experience there. Also, preparing for dinner, our bathroom had no water pressure in the shower and no shower mat. We had to call Room Service to have these issues fixed for our morning shower. For the price of the hotel, we had higher expectations. on a positive note, other than the porter, everyone one else was great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very Comfortable Hotel"
We stayed for one night while visiting relatives for Christmas. The hotel was virtually empty which may explain the issues we had with water, it looked like it had been sitting unused, came out brown and then ran clear. We also had a minor issue with the showerhead. The hotel is lovely, modern and the staff quite nice and friendly. Hotel is right across […] the street from an upscale mall but otherwise in the middle of nowhere. Rooms were very nice, bed very comfy, would stay there again. There was plenty of parking available at the hotel and we were not charged, perhaps due to the fact that the place was 90% empty. I'm guessing this is primarily a hotel for the local corporations and on this night, a professional basketball team! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Short Hills Hilton"
Every part of the hotel was exceptional. The help were all pleasant and accommodating. However, during the Saturday Brunch the fire alarm above the omelet station was not capped off and the entire meal was spent listening to the shrill of the alarm. I guess we were fortunate that there wasn't a real fire. We were there celebrating a friend's MAJOR birthday […] and we couldn't even listen to our immediate neighbor's conversation. It would have been nice if the "powers that be" offered a refund or at least a complimentary return visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I have had several meetings at this hotel and found it to be very good. The staff was attentive and very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for meetings. It is in a good location right across from the mall.
"A hotel for business and meeetings"
07/22/14 Bob E Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
I am here quite regularly this year. Four night just last week. I like the hotel for the most part, however there are a few areas that drive me crazy. First off they have a policy of not being able to check in until 3 PM. As I am there for meetings I like to go to my room and freshen up or even change prior to my meeting. With the front desk that is not an option. Worst off they look at you with this condescending vison that how you dare even ask. If you are lucky you may get in at 2.30. BTW for a $ 25 surcharge they can move you up to the priority list. Their room service food is horrible. Limited menu and even with that they have a difficult time delivering fresh food. My $ 19 hamburger has yet to arrive cooked medium. Also the cheapest bottle of wine on their menu is $ 42 - $ 53 with tax and tip. Better yet walk across the street to the Short Hills Mall. There is a great Legal Seafood Restaurant there. The sleeping rooms are nice, clean, and efficient. Many of the plug sockets on the work desk and table lamps do not work. However I am told they are starting sleeping room renovations shortly. As a point of reference my Uber trip from Newark Train Station to the hotel was $ 73 inbound and $ 89 going back on a Friday at rush hour.
"Wireless Internet is not free!"
07/22/14 wisconsingirl52 Milton, Wisconsin
We did not choose this hotel as we were in town for a wedding and this is where the block of rooms was set up. There is no free breakfast - you pay for it in the dining room like any other restaurant. The in-room wireless Internet was $15.95 a day! Since every hotel I've ever stayed in offers this free for their guests, I refused to pay it and made do with my iPhone. It's a nice hotel, but even the discounted price was pretty steep and then to have to pay for wifi on top of that - I wasn't doing it. This was a nice hotel, but I will not stay in another Hilton if there is a charge for their wireless Internet.
"A Lovely Weekend"

While it was a little tough, even with GPS to find the hotel entrance--better signage is needed--including in the garage, once we got to the front desk we were thrilled to be there. As a Hilton gold member, upon request we were upgraded to an Executive king. The room was very clean and comfortable. The lounge was excellent. Generous breakfast, great appetizer spread and sinful deserts. Staff friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at The Short Hills Hilton very much for the following reasons-- In room dining is great, the Concierge was very helpful. All the staff makes you feel at home. The pool is beautiful, and inviting, and the chefs prepare such delicious dinners.

Hotel is located in a nice area with easy access to major parts of New Jersey and New York city. Hotel rooms needs some upgrades and remodeling. I would rate it a 3- star facility. The Executive Lounge at Short Hills is one of the worst that I have ever utilized in all my years of staying at Hilton Hotels.
"very good hotel - bad spa: lying about the time we get"
07/08/14 Nathaniel A New York, United States
It was a lovely stay at the hotel. Everybody was very nice with us and I would definitely recommend this hotel for both business or leisure. However, I STRONGLY discourage anybody to get a massage at this spa considering the fact that what is promised is not delivered: we paid $130 each (couple massage) for an hour of massage and got 40mns. And when we complained about it we first got told that it was normal - and then they apologized but did NOT propose any compensation. Then I talked with people at the swimming pool and they experienced the EXACT SAME problem - which is not tolerable in my opinion.

Beautiful rooms and great outdoor pool for my kids. We had a quick overnite trip, but the hilton at short hills was GREAT! thanks for a nice place. It was convenient to the Newark Airport and I took the kids to the Turtle Back Zoo.

Stayed here with 20 colleagues. Check-in was prompt. Rooms were available. Facility is a bit tired, but still adequate. Service was above average. Bar staff were accommodating to our large group. Sleeping rooms were spacious, except bathroom was outdated and a bit crowded even for 1 person.
"In town for taekwondo tournament"

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall condition of the hotel, room, and other accommodations. It was very nice and upscale. Although I'm allergic to mold/mildew, and allergy-free rooms only accommodate feather allergies, I didn't have any trouble. The room was fresh and clean. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
