Comfortable stay and great value! Location was excellent also. The only complaint was the heater/AC unit was very noisy and cycled on and off frequently waking us up at night. The second night we just heated up the room and turned the unit off and slept great. Free breakfast was a nice perk! The bed was extremely comfortable and room was quiet. Hotel front desk staff was friendly and provided insightful information about living in Athens. Since we were there investigating the area as a location for early retirement, this information was extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

No real complaints -- only had one luggage cart but I was on the first floor so not a big deal. Breakfast was good and not crowded at all. Room was fine although a bit small in comparison to other HIExpress I've used.

Things fine, except there was no table or sitting chairs in the room. There was a desk area and one rolling chair for it but no chairs just to sit down and relax. We were not there as long as we had planned so it didn't really impact us. But if we had been there longer, that would have been a real inconvience.

Rooms are great (clean and roomy) and staff very efficient and friendly. But the hotel is located close to a major hospital and emergency vehicles could be heard most night. Also train tracks are close by and could be heard all hours of the night. Hotel breakfast was very poor (cold food, dry bread and the lobby is in middle of renovations).

"A decent and very inexpensive hotel"
I stayed at this hotel for three nights while visiting a family member that lives in a nursing facility. The hotel is located across the street from a big box store on a road that runs parallel to interstate 85. Despite the proximity to the interstate, my room was fairly quiet. "Not at all what I expected"
Hotels.com give a very favorable rating to Travelodge and despite my better judgment (regarding pricing), I book my stay anyway. The rating given was comparable (practically the same rating) to that of other international hotel chains in the area. The location was ideal because I wanted to do some quick shopping at the outlet stores. The accommodations […] were not good at all: visibly dirty towels, unclean shower and bugs. I refused to find out the condition of the bedding. Patches of paint chips were missing from the ceiling and the casing around the bathroom doorway was grungy. Suffice it to say, I did not stay. The front desk staff was very accommodating and non-confrontational, almost as if they already knew my complaint. This reminded me of my college years and traveling on a very, very, very low budget. "Clean and safe...almost too clean!"
The hotel is conveniently located off of the highway. The room was ample in size and furnishings...not the Ritz, but I wasn't expecting that. The room was very clean, however the scent of cleaning products was overwhelming! Had to leave the door open for 30 mins plus to try and air it out. Even then, it was very strong. "Book early for the best hotel options!"
This hotel is best for a quick overnight as it is really not very nice if you are planning to stay two or more nights. This hotel is definitely a great place to stay if you want to shop the Tanger Outlet Mall or if you're going to watch the Dawgs play in Athens. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable.
