AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN - North Platte

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel's condition and amenities, considering that it is a former Travelodge Inn that my husband remembers parking across the alley from while at the tire dealership when he was a young man. We would definitely return, at the next opportunity.

For an old hotel, this was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. No bad smells (we had N/S & No Pets room). Fridge/coffee in room. Very good deal for the $$. No tub, shower only. Parking is tight. The room was very clean and although it was small and dated, the bed was comfortable and the amenities that were there met our needs. Even though the hotel did not offer continental breakfast the manager gave us directions to a diner that was open early, convenient to the hotel and served good food! My husband and I went to Colorado for a two week Jeeping vacation. We booked an overnight stay at America's Best Value Inn on the way out and on the way back as North Platte was the half-way point in our drive. Rated a 3, meaning it was just OK. Paint was loose on the walls in the shower. Had very low water pressure. Appeared to have had some renovation done but was an older building. Slight odor in room (cleaning type odor). Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Limited office staff (could not find anyone to check out - but was prepaid).

Management was very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nice big shower. Easy to find and the "fast food strip" was just far enough that the motel site was quiet. Family-type atmosphere. I would pick this motel as my first choice on my next trip to Nebraska.

We were impressed by the hotel. We were treated very nicely. The room was comfortable; bed great; clean room and bathroom. Many big hotels have little choice in cable TV...this hotel had great TV with many choices and also HBO. Appreciated the free Wi-Fi. The price could not be beat anywhere on our journey. I was traveling by car from Wisconsin to Denver And chose this hotel for a rest after 12 hours of travel. The hotel has been updated to a clean, comfortable, and convenient overnight. There was an awesome mural of a mountain above the headboard to the bed. There was a flat screen T.V. that was nice. There was a table for playing cards, but we did not bring cards. There was a wooden cube and we did not know what it was for. I stayed with a pretty girl, she had no complaints. There was ice for drinks.

Our son just got stationed in Colorado Springs and North Platte is the half way point for us, this is the 4th stay at this hotel and each stay has been the same as the first-Customer service is great, the rooms are always clean, beds are comfortable and we haven't found a better hotel for the price.

We had reservations here and 5 miles out of town a Winnebago had a Coleman cooler fly off it into our car. We drove to the hotel and had a great deal of help, sympathy, and repair information from the owners and staff. They were accommodating, pleasant, and very helpful. We chose this hotel for cost...it was a quick stop on a cross country trip. We were greeted by a very friendly person. Our reservation was readily accessed, prepared ahead of time. This hotel was affordable, but pretty dumpy. The staff was nice, and the room was not 'dirty' but it was very old and falling apart. No updates at all in the room, and the mattress was AWFUL! We slept on metal springs all night. We will not be going back.
