I do not understand some of the negative reviews. Of course, I can only comment on the room my husband and I stayed in. Given the mixed reviews when I was researching hotels, I felt we were taking a gamble with Extended Stay. But the price and location were the determining factors for us. And besides, we were only going to be in Austin for two days. […] We were so pleasantly surprised! The room was clean and spacious, and had everything we needed for our weekend visit. Our room looked out onto the street and, surprisingly, we could not hear the traffic. I could go on, but the other positive reviews have covered it. I've stayed here a few times and its only because of the location. I like the fact that I can park and walk to most of my destinations in Austin. This last stay I had to change rooms because of toilet plumbing issues, and the 2nd room had the same issue, only that this time it overflowed and saturated the floor. This was one of the most quiet hotels I have ever stayed in. I loved that there was a refrigerator. The front desk was extremely helpful, especially Olga! I had a couple of special requests, and they were honored. The displayed taxi phone number at the front desk with a house phone nearby was brilliant and helpful. Storing my bags and retrieving them […] after checkout was quick and easy. The water pressure in the shower was fine, and I always had hot water. The room was spacious. My only complaints are that the complimentary shampoo did not suds up, there was no complimentary body wash (bar soap instead), and the room wasn't very upscale-looking - it was more motel-like. This hotel is perfectly located in Downtown Austin. It is just 3 blocks off noisy East 6th Street, and walkable to everywhere you want to go Downtown, including the running trails. Also, the Airport Flyer bus now stops two blocks away at 4th & Guadeloupe.

They do not have breakfast they have coffee and a few pre packaged snacks. The 4th floor smelled like burnt toast and the room smelled like puke the only thing this place had going for it was location and free parking which is a big deal on 6th street but those two things were not worth the price we paid. I would recommend staying at a slightly more […] expensive hotel downtow which I have done or staying further down I-35 and taking a cab to 6th st which I have also done before. I've stayed at this location several times, they've had some upgrades (i.e. they offer continental breakfast now) I love that it's clean, no extra costs for breakfast, parking or internet and it has a kitchen! also so close to about everything! :) thanks ya'll! :)

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Other guests were a little loud coming in from partying late at night, but not as bad as another hotel I stayed at close by. Can't beat the price and location. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and nice staff. The floor in the bathroom had come up and they had STAPLED it to hold it down! Just plain old and not well maintained. Two beds one chair. Location was great. Breakfast was a few prepackaged muffins and granola bars with coffee. We will pay more money to keep from staying here again.

It was a good hotel to stay in at. There is a private security officer making rounds in the hotel which gives you a comfort of security. The biggest downfall is that you the wall insulation seems to be thinner in this hotel. Because you can hear other rooms TVs, LOCATION IS EXCELLENT!!!!

This hotel was perfectly situated in the heart of downtown Austin and I would highly recommend. The negative of the hotel was there was mold all over the ceiling and floor of the bathroom.

This area can be a little noisey on the weekend, but the staff is great, the "take away" breakfast is borderline, but doesn't make any great claims. It was a great location for a downtown conference.

Very convenient location if you're looking to go out downtown. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was clean and served its purpose as a place to sleep. Free wifi also a plus.

I stayed one night at this hotel! The staff were very friendly and welcoming! This hotel is in a central location to the bars on sixth street and several restaurants! If you want a place that is in walking distance to sixth street and that is very cozy this is your spot!! I definitely plan on booking again!

Hotel has the "essentials." It is clean and convenient to all that is happening on 6th Street in downtown Austin. No ammenities like pool or fitness, and the "breakfast" was a bit of a joke, but if you want a clean room, great location, ability to walk to what's happening in Austin, with free parking, this is your hotel! It would be nice if the bathroom lights were separate from the air vent. It is not always necessary to have it on, and it's very noisy--could not listen to the radio or television, while readying for business day.

Friendly receptionists and very helpful and a great room. The breakfast bar is minimal and should at least have milk for the cereals offered. The Internet connection is shaky and slow. This hotel is right on 6th street in the heart of downtown Austin. Great hotel and great price. Every room has a kitchen. The only down side is the maid service does not come every day. If you need this you will have to ask for it and im sure pay for it.

Because of the type of hotel it is, extended stay, they do not have maid service. There is also no wake-up call, and for a day our shower didn't work at all and we had no water pressure. They did fix the shower, but overall, it was really just O.K.

Upon booking I specifically asked for a non smoking room because I have asthema. We were put on a smoking floor, the elevator reeked of smoke too. When I asked if I could switch rooms the front desk said no that they are completely booked and that I should make a complaint. To whom?? Hotels.com? To the person I was speaking to? Also, the key cards stopped […] working and several of us were locked out. The room was very clean, but this is a minimal amenties hotel. They do not clean the room unless you stay more than a week. You go down to the desk if you need fresh towels or toilet paper, etc. and ask. The hallway smells are strong, because people are cooking in the rooms, but the rooms DO NOT smell at all.
