We stayed at Embassy Dorado del Mar in November of 2012. We had 5 adults in a suite and all had room without feeling overcrowded. The only room complaint is that they kept leaving 2 towels and no washclothes so we had to call down every day to get additional towels and washclothes for bathing. The A/C worked well, water pressure was great, and the small […] microwave and fridge were a nice plus. The pool area was clean and big. The towel service was nice to have by the pool area as well. The private beach was a huge PLUS. There were little to no people using the beach and the water was amazing. No swim up bar which is a bummer, but we made it work without it. The manager's reception each night, with live music was insanely fun. The bartenders were personable and made sure everyone had fun. The complimentary breakfast was great as well. We would definitely go here again, and recommend it to people visiting Puerto Rico. Make sure you read the fine print, as there is a resort charge on top of what you pay from Hotels.com. Not huge, but something we wish we knew ahead of time (which we would've, if we read the fine print). Read more

Had just two double beds, we are used to queen beds. The pull out couch was average or below. We had to call every day for extra towels and a sheet for the couch. Outstanding staff, everything done well, special requests handled promptly, maintenance staff very fast, iguanas both entertaining and polite; what more could one ask for? Beach sand was cigarette butt free, clean, and well kept.

The location was okay for what we needed. The bathroom could have used some cleaning. The floor was kinda gross so I never took off my shower shoes. The sink and toilet weren't too bad, but the grout in the shower and floor could have used a deep clean. The room was spacious and neat....not emaculate. It's a good hotel just be ready to pay extra to self park and to use the pool, the beach and hot tub and such.... they also need more variety as far as breakfast!!!!! I think $18 per day for use of the resort weather your are there or not is a bit much plus $10 per day to park your car????

room was so humid, even with AC o that the carpet was always damp. Tge upholstery was filthy. The hotel infrastructure seems to need a pick-me-up. The food was also loisy. However, the people werevery nce and aimed to please. The pool is nice but the beach is tiny.

Very comfortable hotel. Well worth the nightly rate with the extraordinary daily breakfast and the managers cocktail hour. Staff was super! The only problem that I had was the distance of the self-park garage from the hotel lobby.

Fortunately I decided a couple of days before the trip to rent a car. Without a car, we would have been in trouble. The hotel was in a gated community about a 40 min drive from the Luis Moran airport. It was close to the Bacardi Factory and Ferry to Old San Juan. This was good. Good luck trying to find the hotel with mapquest or GPS. It took us 2 hours to get to the hotel. Nice hotel but the resort fees and parking fees are expensive. Great drinks in the evening but the food needs to be changed up. Popcorn and chips every night :(

From the moment we arrived everyone was friendly, welcoming & helpful. The suite was spacious and very comfortable. The view, while not an ocean or garden view, still gave us a very picturesque tropical ability to watch the sunrise and set, see the palms sway beyond the golf course...stunning. The three pools falling one into the other were and the […] enclosed private beach provided lots of water & sun activity. The menu gave a great opportunity to sample the flavors of Puerto Rico. The chef came out to our table to make sure everything was okay. It was delicious. The free daily breakfast buffet bar and nightly snacks and drinks, as well as being able to go to the local grocery store and stock up in our kitchenette saved dining costs immensely. WE went for a family getaway with our kids. Very accomodating. Free breakfast in wonderful, but make sure you get there early as it can get really crowded. Food prices are a bit high but there is plenty to eat around DOrado.

Is an excellent hotel, with great views and great staff. The pool is good but only 3' - 6'' feet deep. The open bar is a great idea from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm with a lot of different drinks, "sangria" the best drink.

The stay @ the resort was great. Wish there were more attractions and especially authentic restaurants to eat @. But if you like everyday fast food it's the right place. The breakfast buffet was excellent as were all the other amenities very family oriented..
