I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Columbia. The staff were very friendly and some spoke english (which helped). The breakfast was buffet style with an ok selection of items. The hotel is in the city center so it is older, but I sort of like that charm. Just know if you prefer things to be completely modern, you will not like it. All in all, it was clean which is the most important. A/C worked fine and there were no problems with the internet. There are several networks you can use, so which ever picks up the best signal. The comfort of the beds could be a little better, but it wasnt horrible. Windows have a metal draw down which is great if you want to sleep in without the sunlight coming through. The surrounding neighborhood can be a bit seedy and seem dangerous because of the people hanging out and some vagrants, but to be fair, I noticed that through just about the entire city. It sort of reminded me of San Francisco in that sense. (Again, nothing directly against the hotel, because it was all over). All in all, I would stay there again. Also, from the airport (GRU) it is very easy to use the airport bus to Praca Republica and the hotel was a 7 minute walk away. With traffic, the bus took about 50 minutes, but I flew home on a Sunday and it only took 30 minutes to get back to the airport from Praca Republica. (The airport bus has an office in Praca Republica).

Overall, very pleased with my stay. First time in an Estranplaza and this was for a business trip. Breakfast was exceptional. I selected the free wireless... and it was adequate though not super fast. Compared to other international locations, it was better however. If you are expecting to be in an area with shopping and restaurants within a few blocks, then this may not be the hotel you chose. The night I've got to the hotel, around 3AM, the hotel had a fire problem in their electrical box. We had to evacuate for about 1 hour because of a toxic smoke. I booked this hotel through Expedia a week before travel so perhaps I paid a premium however I found this hotel really tired and overpriced. It's 4 star rating is generous at best and the only redeeming factor would be the courtesy of it's staff. O hotel é agradável, com um serviço muito bom, com destaque para as refeições que são muito bem servidas, os pratos muito gostosos e com um preço compatível com o local. A única questão que deixou a desejar foi a vista do quarto que não era nada bonita e o fato de não ter andar alto disponível para fumantes.

Escolhi o Hotel por gostar muito da hospitalidade da rede. Um dos diferencias é que eles deixam uma carat personalizada escrita a mão endereçada a cada hospede. Para minha surpresa tinha uma carta no meu quarto com um nome diferente do meu. Levei a carta na recepção do hotel e avisei do equivoco mas a funcionária se limitou a dizer: Devem ter deixado […] a carta desde a estadia anterior. Fiquei decepcionado tanto com a postura da funcionária, que nem ao menos se desculpou pelo equivoco, pela falta de tratamento personalizado (Que é o objetivo a que a rede de propoe) e também fiquei bem preocupado com a limpaza do quarto, pois se não reitraram nem a carat, porque limapriam o resto das coisas. A localização é boa,próxima a vãrios shoppings e pontos de interesse. A qualidade do serviço é excelente, funcionários muito educados e cordiais. Entretanto, o hotel está mau conservado, com aspecto de velho, os carpetes nos corredores estão manchados e velho.

O hotel e muito bom, o entorno e cheio de restaurantes bons, para todos os gostos. mas o que chama a atencao e o nivel de hospitalidade dos atendentes. Parece 5 estrelas. adoramos e retornaremos com certeza. Sempre fiquei em hoteis nos jardins, agora tenho uma grande opcao. parabens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
