"Always a good stay"
Hotel Deca is always one of my first choices. Their staff, most likely collage students are always nice and helpful...one reason I keep coming back. I did pay for a a sky view room but only made it as high as the seventh floor, a bit disappointing. I will be back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, Clean, and Super Welcoming"
We stayed at the Deca Hotel last week and was very happy with our stay. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming and well informed. Having Tullys coffee attached to the lobby was also a big plus. The room was clean and well furnished. The only real down fall was the fact that it is not within walking distance of any of the downtown attractions. […] However, they do provide a free shuttle to any of the major attractions(Pikes Market, Space Needle, ect.). Some of the hotel walls are kinda thin. There was multiple occasions where I heard the door next to us open and close and was 100% sure it was mine. The It is conveniently located near the university and had tons of different options for lunch and dinner in every price range I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay at a great price. "Small rooms for the price"
Room was clean (halls were dirty) and decorated nicely, but very tiny with no amenities. This is honestly the smallest hotel room we've ever stayed in and we travel a lot! For the price, this hotel needs to offer a lot more. Older hotel and walls are thin. We could here other guests talking. Good location (literally right next to the university) and […] withing walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We would stay here again if the price was cheaper, but definitely not worth it for the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dwell esk Hotel near UW"
Loved it. We booked the room with a skyline view and when we got there got upgraded to the top floor suite. Huge room with roof top balcony view of Mt. Rainier, Space Needle etc.. It's one of two of the tallest buildings in the U District neighborhood. Soft bed was a plus and cool shower and tub. Great food just a block away. Easy parking in the lot […] outside. I recently stayed here for a job interview as the location wasn't too far from where I needed to be in the morning. I was upgraded to a king room with a nice view of Mt. Rainier. It was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. At about 10 pm, it was apparent that the noise from the ice machine next door and that my room was across the hall from […] the elevator was going to hinder my ability to get a good night's sleep. I asked to change rooms, and was promptly switched to a jr. king suite! I had a great night's sleep and woke up to a beautiful view of the Space Needle. The neighborhood is iffy, but there is secure street level parking available. I will definitely stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Place with a few glitches"
Small complaints involve tiny bathroom, woefully inadequate cable TV selection, and some missing or broken amenities such as wash rags and ice-bucket. Also, internet only allows one device at a time which is frustrating if you have computers and smart phones.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best place to stay near campus!"
Loved this hotel! Less than a five minute walk to campus and near tons of eating and drinking on The Ave! Very cute boutique feel with Tully's in the lobby!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"hotel stay was coming full circle"
Turns out I stayed in this hotel as a part of a 3 week stay in Janaury 1975. It was a great surprise to see that the "relative dump" was transformed and a super place to saty this time around.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Heart of the U District"
If you like fresh air, ask the desk to have the room windows "unlocked". Then you'll not only have the magnificent views, you'll have access to the magnificent air. On a sad note, they are now charging a nightly fee for the formerly free parking. Still it is one of our favorite Seattle hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasing Hotel and close to downtown"
Staff were so accomodating in my sister"s request for a bed instead of 1 bed. . . .The hotel is ideal especially for visiting students or in my case just visiting Seattle for a trade show and a chance to meet my sister and her family who lives in Vancouver, Canada. Since I have not found any available room in downtown, Hotel Deca was the great alternative […] as it is very close to downtown. I just hope that parking was free. "Nice hotel near the campus"
I had a pleasant stay here with my sister. We came Seattle mainly for pleasure, and was hesitant about staying here, because of its distance from downtown. It was actually pretty easy to get around - there's a direct bus to downtown only a block away, and if you reserve early enough, the hotel has a shuttle that takes you to nearby places (including […] downtown). The room was clean, the staff was so friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a delightful stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cute and quaint"
Bed was great, room was awesome, staff was sweet! Room lacked soap and the towels were less then desirable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, even when we arrived at 1am. Tully's was great for a cup of coffee or quick bite to eat and the hotel restaurant was great too! Bartender made strong drinks at the bar. The live music was loud for the space but good. The room had a very comfortable bed, […] lots of space, and even a view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day. The location was very convenient for UW and only 10-15 minutes from downtown. The water pressure could have been stronger in the shower but otherwise everything was fantastic. Definitely staying here again next time we are in Seattle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Art Deco hotel near the University campus"
One of the rooms we booked was for my parents' anniversary, so the wine glasses and complimentary bottle of wine in the room was a very nice touch. The friendly desk staff and excellent service more than made up for the lack of a few family amenities. For families, safety is a concern and upper floors (which have the nice views) would only be recommended […] if all windows were not operable by children. The window sills are low, and the operable sashes for these tall windows are positioned down low. Some of the windows had special screws installed to prevent the window from being opened, but not all of them. We happened to catch this before our kids opened the windows, and also happened to have a screw handy that fit the hardware and kept the window locked. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Average place at a High Cost."
I was very surprised to find out that they charge for parking now. It was not mentioned in the advertisement and I probably wont stay there again. The hotel itself is nothing to brag about and the only good thing about it is the location. For what they charge, a customer should get more for their money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room Not Ready upon arrival"
Stayed in a Junior Suite. Payed in advance. Sleeper couch was to be used. Was not ready. Had to call the front desk to get linens for the bed. Then comforter was not brought. Had to order it. "Room wasn't what I paid for"
I paid for a King bed for a romantic getaway with my husband. We have a plush queen bed at home and was looking forward to a bit more space, but ended up getting two "queen" (more like "full") beds with a larger room. After calling the front desk to inquire, I was told that we received a "complimentary upgrade" to a larger room. The room was beautiful […] and spacious, with a perfect view of the Space Needle. But we ended up sleeping in separate beds for lack of sleeping space. Very romantic, right? Movies were not available either, and was told at 1AM to come down and check out some DVD's for free. The Hotel is beautiful, staff could be more accommodating, but we won't be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Arrived early at noon and had no issue with getting a room. Everything was as expected - clean, modern, well kept. The people who work the desk at the Hotel Decca were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. while the waiter we had downstairs for breakfast was aloof to the point of being rude. "Great boutique hotel"
We stayed here because of its proximity to Children's Hospital and based on the other reviews, and we were pleasantly surprised. "Will stay here again ..."
I was expecting a good experience at the Deca and was not disappointed. The room was large and well-appointed with the only negative being the inside temperature. Apparently, the heat was still on from the winter, so outside temperatures in the high-60s and low-70s made me wish for air conditioning. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option during our stay. […] The parking spaces in the hotel's lot were tighter than I am used to, so that presented a challenge as I was parking (beaching) a mini-van. My husband had to get out of the van and direct me each time we needed to park. Of course, all the parking in Seattle is challenging. We did take the hotel's shuttle to the zoo which was a great option. It not only saved us the expense of parking but also the aggravation of dealing with traffic. Overall, our experience was extremely positive, so we will definitely consider another stay the next time we visit our daughter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Booked King bed, received a Full-size."
We stayed at Hotel Deca this past Easter because it my wife's birthday, and we stayed there exactly the same day four years ago while we were dating. We didn't have to stay in your hotel as we now live in Seattle - we just wanted to celebrate our special day together at the "old" place. However, we can't say the stay exceeded our expectations. We booked […] a King-sized bed just like we did four years ago, but upon checking in we were informed that the only room left was a studio with a full-sized bed. Without any other choice, we accepted the room, slept in the small bed (we have a much larger bed at home). We were still happy as we had a good time together. I hope you can make this right for us - otherwise, to be honest, we don't see any reason to come back to this hotel if the bed type cannot be guaranteed. Thank you very much! "Excellent, but don't rely on the internet"
The Deca has always been clean and friendly and comfortable. They are responsive to needs that went unnoticed and they recently remodeled the rooms which was a nice plus. The only thing negative I have to say is: don't rely on their internet. It's free, but it's so slow you can barely do anything at all on them aside from email and patiently waiting […] for simple requests like checking the local weather. I tried to get work done twice during my stay and was unable to because my work involves frequent downloads of files and it was so slow as to just not be possible. I also tried to watch a Netflix movie a few times but that wasn't working either. I listened to internet-radio a few times to keep up on my home-town's local news -- and that worked but with multi-second pauses in the playback about every 15-30 seconds. The Deca really needs to do something about their internet, it's performance is late-90s quality -- which I would accept if staying at an out-of-the-way rural bed-and-breakfast but certainly not in such a high-tech metro area. It was really nice decor. Room was clean. the bathtub was small so I am a take a bath person so it was tight bathing. No lotion available. Amenitites are limited. Small workout room. "Great hotel for a decent price, recommended to all"
I stayed at this hotel for only one night. I arrived at the hotel around 6 in the morning when check in time was at 3pm I believe. The front desk was kind, even though it was so early in the morning and found us a room. The overall service of the front desk was extremely helpful. I would recommend staying at this hotel just because of that reason. They […] were also really nice people, thank you! I believe one of their names were vanessa? I am sad to say I don't remember her name, but she was really nice and helpful. Also we were allowed to stay a bit longer without charge. The hotel itself seemed clean, my room was pretty clean, could be better of course of it was fine with me. The room did smell a bit, like cleaner to me(which I kind of thought was a good thing, but was unpleasant). The bathroom was a bit small, the body wash pump broke so I had to manually open the bottle to use the soap inside. The bathroom door was way too close to the toilet and there is no lock for the door so if someone was sitting or standing infront of the toilet, and someone else opened the door, that person inside would have gotten hit. There are no "main" lights in the room, only lamps which is a good and bad thing, because to make the room bright at night you need to almost open all the lamps. Also in the room, you could hear the people outside talking really well, so that was kind of a bad thing, not terrible, but would prefer if I didn't hear anything. Overall, Id come back to stay in this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
