Everything about our stay was excellent. There was a "girlfriend gettaway" weekend going on and the place was packed with women. Despite the crowd the only challenge the staff seemed to have was maintaining the women's locker room near the fitness center and indoor pool. Our stay was adequate. We have stayed at this restort about 6 times over the last 20 years. The hotel need some work. We recognise that our stay occured early in the season. This was a high quality hotel. We arrived on a rainy day, for only an overnight on our way to somewhere else, so we didn't have the opportunity to play on the golf course, or play tennis (indoor and outdoor courts), or squash. Overall we found Deerhurst Resort good, however we did feel some areas of the hotel require updating. Currently it is no more than a 3 star property. Outdoor swimming is restricted to a very small area of the lake or a mediocre outside pool - the indoor pool is good. The kitchenette was limited. We went to Deerhurst for a girls' weekend an had a great time. This time we stayed in the main building and enjoyed it more than being in a chalet because it was so convenient to access the features in the hotel. Rob Schneider was there for the comedy festival - it was good but hard to hear all the words of the jokes. We also used the spa and tried […] rock climbing for the first time - FYI it's harder than it looks. Great waitress, Debbie in the coffee shop had super recommendations. First night room was OK could close curtains completely and door had to be slammed to close. Also room did not overlook lake as requested. After paying for an upgrade the second night we had to park at the very rear parking lot. We stayed in a Travellers room, which I expected to be small and quiet. The room was small with out dated decor, which was fine as it was clean. The dissappointing part was how LOUD it was as there are wooden stairs right outside the window that everyone uses.

Stayed over Oct 7, 2012 for a wedding. The staff was attentive and helpful. The 1 bedroom junior suite was clean with comfortable beds. The property is picturesque particularly at this time of year. The leaves were changing colour and at their peak. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Hotel was just ok hotel. Too far to walk back and forth from main building to satellite buildings. There are shuttle busses that periodically drive around to transport passengers, however, it's hit and miss in terms of timing. I had expected a lot more from this hotel, from staff and overall general upkeep. Food was just adequate, not great...

Disappointed in the room. Was not informed that we were actually renting someones timeshare room and that all of them are different. Our room was small, dark and out of date so we asked to be moved and got an ok room but not worth the price. Extrmely kid friendly and not a place for a couple to get away. Deerhurst is great for kids when the weather is good. The water park in the lake is fantastic. They have tons of canoes, kayaks, sailboats etc. Even though the hotel was booked to capacity, there were plenty of watercraft for everyone. Deerhurst has been taken over by a foreign company and I get the impression they are trying to keep their costs down. […] The tennis courts need to be resurfaced. They need to replace all of the broken deck chairs. The Golf Course, which is very expensive, have "bronze" tees which don't seem to correspond to anything on the score card. I thought the staff was great and I enjoyed my dinner at Maple. I would go back to Deerhurs. But I suggest that over the winter, I think they go over every part of the resort and spruce up anything that isn't top notch. Read more

We were impressed with the excellence of the staff at the front desk,in Maples and Eclipse and at the Decades show.The Decades show also was very good with talented young people.We stayed in the main building and the room was very clean with efficient maid service. In previous years, […] we have stayed in lakeside rooms which need to be renovated as they are very old and tired looking. Lunch and dinner at Maples was excellent ,as was breakfast in Eclipse. We did dine at Steamers one evening and the service was horrible,the waiter very rude and the food just ok. We also enjoyed the beach area which was kept very clean. At check in there was only one person on the counter, but as a line up started, two more check in staff openned up their stations. The hotel was very clean, the housekeeping staff member that cleaned our room after the second night, does not know how to use a broom or vacuum. She changed the towels, made the beds, but left dirt on the the bathroom floor, […] and dirt on the carpet. Our room did not have a directory of the resort. If you wanted to know about the facillities you had to ask at the front desk. The above are minor items and would not stop me from going there again or stop me from suggesting it as a place to stay for others. I however do not golf, but there is plenty of other things to do. When we checked in we were given the key to a room that was already occupied - thank goodness there was no one in the room at that time. After going back down to the front desk where they apologized and offered tickets to their evening show as compensation. We were not available for the evening show so instead were given two complimentary non-alcoholic […] beverages at the hotel bar. This was sorry offer at best and we did not use them. We decided to dine Saturday evening at the Eclipse and the food was dismal at best, the service slow and other patrons were letting their children run wild. Going to the Maple restaurant is a better option. The only reason we stay at this hotel is there are not many options in the area for a better class hotel but in the future we will take a chance elsewhere than pay for this overpriced place. My boyfriend and I only stayed one night and wished we had stayed longer. There are tons of activities to partake in! If you have families, this is also an excellent place. I wish there were more indoor activities however, but I did enjoy my stay. The view, the waterfront area, and the hiking trails are truly breath-taking.

We heard a lot of good things about this resort and were looking forward to the trip. When we arrived, our room was terrible! It was small, the furniture looked like it was 30 years old, there was water dammage on the wall - we were not at all happy, especially since it was not their busy season. I was happy that she was quick to move us but was annoyed that they put us the in run down room to begin with.
