Hotel was close to the airport so that great.But I hate hate hate all the parking fees in San Franciso.
Location.
This San Francisco hotel is within 2 blocks of Fisherman's Wharf. North Beach restaurants and the Coit Tower are about a half-mile from the Holiday Inn Express, and Union Square is 1.5 miles away.

This hotel is in a great location. There is shopping all around. Also just a couple blocks away is Fisherman's Wharf. For the price this is the best that I could find. The continental breakfast was great. They have a very large selection of food. My only complaint is that the room that we had (King bed) was pretty small.

"Excellent Hotel"
My wife and I stayed here during spring break and we didn't hear the 100's of families that we saw throughout our stay. We had an inside room,(not facing the street), and it was extremely quiet. Bed and pillows were comfortable, staff was helpful, taxi cabs are close buy, everything on fisherman's wharf is within walking distance. And the price we got […] was considerably better. Worked out well for us. Only complaint was the cost of car parking, but that's San Francisco! Good location for touring.
"Hotel staff stole my jacket"
I'll start with some positives... Brandi at the front desk is fabulous and clearly customer service is her calling. She was great. The location was also very convenient for our trip. Now, a MAJOR negative... The cleaning staff can't be trusted. I was traveling from Boston and left a very nice long wool coat in the closet in my room. It was warm in […] San Francisco and I wasn't wearing it, and I forgot it in my room when I left. I then called the hotel so they could send it to me, and they said they never found the coat. I am 100% certain that this coat was left in the closet in my hotel room at the hotel. It is sad that the employees at the hotel have yet to return this jacket to me. If they happen to find the coat and return it to me, I'll take back everything I said here, but as of right now, they have ruined my experience at this hotel. Read more

The hotel and my room were neat and clean but the staff, especially the front desk, made this a different experience from most hotels. I was treated like I was a long-time valued customer even though this was my first visit and same day check-in due to no other hotels having vacancy because of a local convention. "San Francisco California"
Included Breakfast was so-so, coffee horrible, service by breakfast staff not great. TV, most channels not HD and selection was really poor.
"HI Express Fishermans Wharf- I do not recommend."
I would not recommend this hotel. After a day and a half delay due to weather in the bay the last thing I needed was an attitude. Upon checking in, I was called "rude" by the front desk for questioning a charge. I was also told I would not be helped if I was "rude". To top it off, it was an employee across the desk that I was not even speaking to that […] decided to butt in and give her two cents. You should never call a customer rude! Especially if they aren't addressing you personally. I guess disagreeing, and asking an employee to butt out or at least look at you or address you personally when talked to is rude. I strongly disagree. It is a customers right to question charges. And it is disrespectful to interrupt a customer and then call them "rude" and refuse to help them unless they agree! I will never stay at this hotel again. And I suggest you don't either. Read more

This hotel is in a great location central to everything. It is not fancy but it is well kept and has great service. I had a few requests and they were all answered quickly. For the price, it is a great value, very clean, and comfortable.

"Comfort Inn Express in San Francisco"
This hotel certainly provides a comfprtable stay for guest. Close to the piers on Fishermans Wharf and near trolly and tram stops this is an ideal hotel for exploring the tourist attractions of San fran. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's wharf is a good basic hotel. Me and my friend found it clean and the location is walking distance to many of the tourist attractions in San Francisco. The only complaint is there are only 2 elevators in the hotel, and one of the elevators was often not working. I would book this hotel again. The property is definitely up to the quality standard that Holiday Inn Express is known for. No complaints there. But the Oracle Conference (Oct. 1-6, 2011) drove the SF hotel/motel rates ever closer to the thousand-per-night mark, and so this property had to get their cut of the action as well. This was the most expensive Holiday Inn Express cinnamon […] bun breakfast I've eaten in my entire life. And since they hadn't nicked my VISA enough already, they charged a hideously-inflated nightly parking fee! And because of the conference, this was about the only place in town with availablility where one did not have to worry about personal safety. Read more

The hotel was very good but the front desk staff was the best and most courteous that I have seen in years. There assistance over a couple days on all shifts was outstanding. Much better than large busy establishments.

Hotel Staff was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and located within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and the Alcatraz Tour.
The room was average. The breakfast buffet was the worst I've ever had at a Holiday Inn Express.

Very nice stay. Great location and decent breakfast in the morning. Great value staying here.

Nice hotel. Fairly close to Fishermans Wharf. The breakfast was just OK, not great, and had a somewhat slow moving line for the buffet. Parking at the hotel is valet only and had just gone up to forty-five dollars a night. (I parked on the street for free until 7am, and then the meters there cost about three dollars an hour during the day.)
