"Right next to the park, Lovely neighbourhood!"
I know a lot of people mention the décor, I don't stay places for the décor, though yes it was last decorated in the 80's. I grew up in the 80's, so it was fine by me and everyone that I was with. The actual rooms are a very nice size and the little kitchen was perfect for our needs. The bathrooms were nice, yes the ones that haven't been updated yet […] are a little small (we had two rooms, one updated, one not) but this is a tiny old building and the rooms are basically what a normal double bedroom with a bathroom adjacent to it are in older places. If you need your bathroom and shower to be the size of a small bedroom then perhaps you should pay more for another place. For the 4 of us, we loved our stay, there is a little fire escape balcony behind the place to enjoy the nice weather, we slept comfortably, had a great time in the city and frankly we felt the price was an absolute steal! As for the service, our bathroom light blew the second morning and it was replaced right away, and the night manager stopped us from getting towed in the morning by stopping us on our way in and letting us know the parking rules for the street around the hotel. They were beyond friendly and helpful, we will being heading straight for them again the next time we go! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Budget hotel a bit out of town"
Budget hotel but clean. Is on a bus route to town. Not in a tourist area Right on a busy road out of town parking could be a problem. We had breakfast in a pleasant café 8 minutes walk from the hotel. It felt a local French area not populated by tourists but English was understoodGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location - Hostel-quality rooms"
A friend & I had single rooms on 3rd floor first day and 2nd floor the next day, The 2nd floor rooms were defiinitely nicer, Beds were nothing terrific but were comfortable if you like a firm bed. As mentioned by others, bathrooms were glorified telephone booths in size, not any room for my shaving kit in 3rd fl room; slightly larger with shelving in […] 2nd floor rooms.. It is in a fantastic neighborhood, the north end of the trendy Plateau Mont-Royal area with many shops and restaurants, and across the street from Mont Royal Park Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Not that bad, Parking is a major hassle also booked a room with 2 single beds but upon arriving was informed that they did not have any and I was required to pay an additional 10$ for a room with two doublesGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I will never go back!!!!"
I had the worst room I have ever seen in a hotel. The shower and washroom were unusable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location, location, location!"
I had good nights sleep in clean rooms. The staff was kind and helpful. The location is amazing, walking distance from so many attractions, and the neighbourhood is very interesting and hipster (Mile-End/Plateau Mont-Royal). The private bathrooms are small. But for this price, you cannot find better.Genuine Expedia guest review
The rooms are too small, also there is no parking available on site. Their AC/heater don't work properly. They repaired it after the first night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Honest Unbiased Review!"
My girl friend I went to Montreal for a weekend. Been multiple times and being in our early 20s we are both on a budget and want to be in a good area. This hotel is obviously a cheaper option if you are looking into it, but the location was GREAT. RIght near Mcgill and a not bad walk to st catherines street, with many patio bars, restaurants, clubs, […] and shopping very close by. Right next to Mount Royale which is a great spot for a evening stroll. The room had a bit of a kitchenette to it with a microwave, sink, and mini fridge which was really convenient. The ONLY real pain in the butt was parking. On the weekend its not too hard to find a spot, but during the week (we got there Thurs night and needed to park Friday during the day) it is tough! Street parking rates goes from roughly 9 am - 11pm, which can add up! So a few times we had to drive around for 5-10 min to get a parking spot. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a pain thats for sure. The last 3 times I stayed in montreal I was right in Old Montreal for the location, but I would certainly go back to this area again in the future. Had a great stay! The WiFi was non existent, And when I tried to change rooms for one closer to the router the owner (she was visiting the evening staff) said there were no rooms available. So I had to sit in the lobby to send emails while I watched 6 more people check into the already "filled" rooms We had a rude prostitute next door, who smoked so much we could smell […] it through our vents The bathroom was so small you could LITERALLY sit on the toilet, shower and brush your teeth simultaneously. "Close to downtown core but.."
The hotel location was more than ideal for visitors wishing to explore Mont Royal and the downtown core. The rooms were very clean, however the hotel itself is very dated. The first impression is not a strong one. Only when I entered the room itself was I pleased with the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Well worth the money. Very friendly and helpful staff and owners.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay basic/cheap hotel"
If you are looking for a VERY basic, cheap hotel then this place is quite suitable. The room was clean for the most part. The bathroom was very tiny and basic and the beds were not that comfortable, but not the worst I've ever had to sleep on. The staff were very nice and if I were needing a cheap place to stay I would consider staying here again, […] though if I could afford a bit nicer place I would definitely do that instead. "I would not recommend this..."
The hotel is really not a very good one. The fridge in the room was old. The bathroom floors were uneven. My room shared a common wall with the laundry room and I could clearly hear the noise. It might be good for young folks but not for mature travellers. It is one step p from a dormitory There are only two things that recommend this hotel:-the location […] close to bus routes that connect you to the Metro and Mme. "Try the meat pies two doors down!"
Very nice hotel, lovely reception. The shower is kinda eh (not in cleanliness, but in simplicity). We would definitely stay again. Also two doors down is a meat pie shop, for the love of all things delicious, go for breakfast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

A very handy location at a great price. No fuss, clean basic hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was disgusting and I couldn't wait to get out of there. We didn't sleep in the room and had to pay for two nights even though we left as soon as we could. The room was falling apart and extremely small. The bathroom was filthy and so tiny - shower and toilet were on top of each other and there was no room to move. To top it off the dead bolt on the […] door was broken. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hallways r so narrow that only one person can go....sideways. You have to sit on the toilet to take a shower, that's how small it was. When I complained, they said its European style. Now I don't wanna Goto europe. Stayed there for two days and my sheets weren't changed, no cleaning lady ever entered my room. Very disappointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all must- see sights"
Lovely hotel for a cheap price, cozy rooms and rapid internet. I definitely would stay there every time I go to MontrealGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The facility is basic. It satisfies my needs because of the location and pricing. Microwave and refrigerator in the room is a big plus. On-street parking is a challenge. All factors considered: Good bang for the bucks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent stay for the price."
Yes! It is an older Hotel and would need some repair and TLC but it was very clean and the front desk staff worry very friendly and nice. I was told that repairs have been started on a room by room basis. I was very satisfied and will be return next year for my event.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay somewhere else"
You really should stay somewhere else, there's no free parking there until after 6 and then you have to move your car by 9 am, the washroom is about the size of the inside of a hatchback Honda civic and the beds are hard, it is relativity close to everything though but I don't recommend booking this place to stay if your on vacation. "Look no further"
This is a two-star hotel but the facilities are in good shape and the rooms are comfortable. The staff, however, deserve five-star rating! They are extremely friendly, helpful and they really care about their guests. My family's Montreal trip might have ended in disaster had it not been for the staff at Hotel Park Ave. We had car issues and could not […] drive out of the city when we expected to and our room had already been booked by another patron. The staff helped us make all the phone calls necessary for our vehicle as well as called almost every hotel in town to try and find us a room. We eventually resolved the problem and drove out of the city happy and satisfied. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very quite area even though downtown, but the room wasn't clean the bathroom pathetic very tiny water running all over the place. The walls were very messy. Would never suggest this hotel to any of my family members or friends.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A good option for a limited budget"
This hotel is nothing fancy but a good option if you're looking to stay in Montreal on a very limited budget. It is very close to bus routes linking you to the downtown (almost right outside the front door), and about a 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station, Mont-Royal. Good options for food and groceries also within a 5-15 minute walk. The front […] desk staff was helpful and friendly, and accommodations felt safe. Many of the rooms have been refinished with laminate flooring and simple furniture, with flat screen TVs. It's a pet-free environment, great for anyone with allergies. Rooms were clean. "SOlid CEntral location, but it's a 1 star hotel an"
Hotel was easy to find and very central, right beside Mt Royal and between downtown and the Plateau (which is infinitely more fun that downtown). There is a lot of construction going on right outside the hotel, but that should clear up within a month or so...Our first room was up on 3rd floor (no elevator) in the back. The mattress was rock hard, the […] floors were crooked, the shower "stall" and the toilet overflowed, so we asked for a change, which was done right away, subject to vacancy. The new room was on the first floor, facing the street. Construction noise was tolerable in the morning, thanks to doubled windows. The bed was softer, the plumbing worked better and the shower "stall" was cleaner (there is no real stall, just a curtain...the whole floor is going to get wet...shower caveat, as they say). Overall, a decent stay for such an inexpensive room, but it's not somewhere I'd suggest to anyone who has a reasonable budget to work with. Just be nice with the staff. They did their best with what they have and were friendly and accomodating. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

extremely stinking and too small space washroomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is located in a good area, and the employees are very nice and helpful. I didn't know the hotel was going though renovations when I booked the rooms, and the Avenue du Parc in front of it was closed due to (also) renovations. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice if someone would have told me that before I got there. The room had this […] awfull smell of cigarettes, which I hate, and it was all over the duvet on the bed. The linnen were fine and clean; didn't like the towels. For the price, it was fine. I didn't expect more than what I got. Bad think about the room: I could hear my neighboor's TV (same floor) and all that the couple at the room above me were doing. Response by Hôtel Park Avenue We apologize for the noise at the date of your stay. Please rest assured that it is an isolated event, due to a group of people making noise because of the Holiday festivities. This is a very unlikely occurrence and we will do everything to prevent it from happening again. We hope you choose to stay with us in the future. Thank you for taking the time to review,
At that price, this is just about the best you can get. Bedding was comfortable and clean, as were the countertops and tables. However, they forgot grey fingerprints over every door and handle. The flat-screen TV was perfectly functional and ideally located, but only the most popular channels were available in English. Never had any trouble with the […] wi-fi connection. The mini-fridge is very small, but a larger fridge is available for all guests in the kitchenette dowstrairs. I did not open it so I can't comment. This hotel allows smoking in the rooms and on a little terrasse accessible from the kitchen. Personally, my room only had the very faint and reassuring smell of detergent. Perhaps because the windows open. The bathroom had been renovated recently, terracotta tiles all over and no bathtub. The room, kitchenette and basically the entire place are remindful of a frathouse or a dorm on an old East Coast college campus. Really cool atmosphere, but didn't hear a noise past midnight. Ideal for young folks who want to spend a weekend where the action is and don't need luxury. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
