This was a great hotel. Close by the university and restaurants. The room was a little cramped for one adult and three teenagers but overall a wonderful stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel in Tyler"
Very happy with my stay here, it is a clean hotel with great inside pool, large and great for the familyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service and perfect room."
This was my second time staying there and both times the hotel staff is the best out of any other hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel is always very clean and is nice to be in, one night me and my wife just liked being in the room so much we just watched a movie instead of going out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"25 Anniversary weekend"
Tha stay was good. The heated pool was cold and no towels at the pool. Breakfast was a disappointment. Eggs thingy was nasty. not much of a selection of breakfast items. The staff was friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very pleased by Tyler's Holiday Inn Express South. The staff was extremely friendly and kind, willing to help with whatever was needed, and very well trained. The hotel itself was in great condition, clean and quiet with wonderful decor. The room was extremely comfortable with all needed amenities. There was a fitness center and indoor pool, though […] I did not have the chance to use either. The breakfast buffet seemed adequate, and there were cookies available 24/7. I personally did not find one single issue and greatly enjoyed my stay. I will stay there again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Holiday Inn Suites Tyler TX"
The hotel was very clean, the people were all great. The building itself had little sound proofing. We could hear outside traffic and people in the rooms around us. The hallways were also noisy at night. The faucet on the sink in the bathroom was so short that you couldn't really get your hands or a cup under it to access the water.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel in Good Location"
Could not find anything bad to say about this hotel. Staff was great at check in/out and gave us some restaurant recommendations. Room was large and comfy with plenty of pillows to find the one I liked. The breakfast was the same usual foods, which meet the needs, but lacks a little flavor which can be achieved by adding the hot sauce or gravy. As usual […] the rolls were the best and if they ever stop serving them, then I will find another place to stay. My wife enjoyed meeting the check in clerk Alex who had a great sense of humor. "Needs New Cleaning Staff---"
07/01/14 JamieCresson_Texas Fort Worth, Texas
Upon checking in on Friday evening, went to take a shower and there was long black hairs in the bathtub and on the floor by bathtub!!! So needless to say I told the desk clerk Saturday morning about the dirty bathroom, assuming it would be very clean when we returned on Saturday evening and NO it was not!!! I spoke to clerk again when we checked out Sunday and she said the manager was going to give me Holiday Inn points on my account!!! Having worked for Holiday Inns in the past I do not think this was enough! Won't return there in the future!!!
"Great Service & Comfortable Room"
05/31/14 TurquoiSea Upstate NY
My husband and I stayed for a week during a national tournament. When we arrived at 11:30pm the front entry was closed for renovations. We went in a side entry and were on to our room quickly. Our first two night were in a room with jacuzzi. The room was nice, but we moved to the executive suit with a small living room for the remainder of our stay. It had a couch, chair/ottoman, dining table, refrig, microwave, and sink. We made popcorn one night and watched the video of that days game. Nice and spacious, but the furniture was a little dated. The shower had good water pressure and a jacuzzi. Each section of the room had it's own air conditioning unit. The AC units were loud, but kept the room at a good temperature. Housekeeping was top notch. They checked to see if we needed anything and did a very nice job cleaning our room. (Funny... the windows in the fitness center were so clean, initially I thought it was open without glass.) Complimentary breakfast in the lobby was well stocked and had everything we needed in the early morning... a smiling attendant always had a "good morning" each day. Free WiFi was great for our iphones & tablets. We did try to view a website on one of the business center computers, but they were so slow we abandoned the idea. (I fault Microsoft for that, not the hotel) We did not use the pool, but it looked very nice. Overall we had great stay! I'm glad we decide on the larger room.
"Best customer service experience"
04/29/14 rtw00 Cornelius, North Carolina
I just finished a stay at this hotel for a business trip. The check in was smooth, rooms were clean and breakfast was very good. But after I checked out from the hotel, I had the best customer service experience I've ever encountered. On my way to the airport I was notified by an employee named Taylor that I had left my bag in the room. I was so pressed for time I couldn't possibly return to get the bag and make my flight. Taylor arranged a courtesy drop of the bag for me at the airport. I've never been so impressed by out of the way customer service. This hotel deserves your stay for their service alone (not to mention other positive mentions above). Thanks again to the great staff!!!!
"Jacuzzi tub was nice, but bedspread was questionable"
02/15/14 Felicia C Palestine, Texas
My husband and I stayed Valentine's night and were looking forward to the Jacuzzi tub in our room. The tub looked as if it needed cleaning (jets were pretty grimy looking), so we sprayed it with some cleaner we bought and ran the jets for a while. After some scrubbing, it was worth it, because it was great. Unfortunately, that was the only good part of the stay. Our bedspread had a spot on it that was so pungent that I could smell it just sitting close to it, so it came off the bed. At one point I called downstairs to see if they had plasticware and while the girl at the front desk confirmed that they did, she did not offer to bring it to the room (I guess I am just use to the good ole days of extraordinary customer service). I don't think we will be staying here again.

We were told by the manager that our rooms would be ready upon arrival. At 5:00 p.m.they are still not ready. I will never stay here again. I would advise the same. The desk clerks seem unconcerned. Other groups walked right in at got a room.

I'll give it 7 stars out of 5! We travel to Tyler to see our daughter (at college) several times during the year and at times are joined by Gramma & Grampa too. Quite honestly there are several hotels to choose from on the south loop area....some good....some so-so....some just nasty. For me (the dad) - AC, big TV, hot shower, and bed (in that order) is all I need....Don't care about paint, carpet, or smell of the hallway. HOWEVER.....for the wife - the initial smell of the lobby, the recent vacuum marks in the hall, the fresh smell and cleanliness of the room, the non-dingy sheets/comforter, capped off by a CLEAN bathroom with no "grunge" in the tub is what the wife rates/judges/deems worthy of "stay"......and when I hear the words uttered by the wife......in a low monotone voice - "it's nice".....it is then and ONLY then that I can DROP the bags! ...........AND TO ALL YOU MARRIED MEN - I know I am not alone on that either! All joking (yet a little serious) aside - great hotel, great location, and the front desk staff (I wish I could remember her name - got me hooked up with the reward card) .....well, lets just say she was GREAT and the check-in/check-out was PAINLESS. WILL BE BACK!
"Loved this Place!"
10/31/13 DTPegasus Dallas, Texas
We were greeted upon entry, checked in quickly, and told about a discount on meals at the Texas Roadhouse right up the street. The room was large, clean, and cold, which is perfect in steamy Texas heat. It was so cold that we even had to turn the AC down! Not only were these things good and welcoming, but there were fresh cookies in the lobby, and we were given bottles of water and peanut-butter crackers when we checked in. When we returned to our room after a late night of concerts, the huge Jacuzzi tub was lovely to fill up and just relax. Wonderful all the way around. Then falling into the bed was heavenly - everything was perfect. It was hard to wake up to the scrumptious breakfast spread awaiting the next morning. This place does it right. From scrambled eggs and sausage gravy to fresh-made pancakes, fruit, a selection of cereal, various grades of milk, juice, coffee, yogurt, rolls. It's almost more than you can imagine! And, it's all you can eat, too! If we ever have a need to stay over in Tyler again, you can bet this is where we'll stay!
"Good place to stay"
It is one if better and brighter holiday inns. Rooms are HI quality and they are clean. Breakfast isn't greatest one but....it is HI. Location is OK, nice pool, exercise room and sauna. I was happy to stay and would recommend this ace to anyone. In the end of the day...it's Tyler, TX and this is one of the better places to stay!
"First Flub up"
10/01/13 Lawrence D Tyler, Texas
I have stayed at this Holiday many times in the past and have not had anything but good service. This time however wasn't so good. What I learned was I really needed to verify that notes were put on my reservation as I was assured they would be. I requested a first floor room if possible, the person taking the reservation assured me he would make the note on the reservation. By the way I spoke directly to the Hotel Clerk for the reservation. I not only did not get a first floor room I got a room on the 3rd floor that was the fartherest room from the elevator. I checked with the desk to see what happened and that's right there were no notes on my reservation. Since this was a one night stay it wasn't worth a move.
"A wonderful place to stay!"
09/25/13 lovehazeltraveling Shreveport, Louisiana
I LOVE this hotel! I can not praise it enough! great rooms, food, pool, and staff. Its the only place I sleep when in Tyler! The indoor pool is the very best part. You can have fun all day and not even leave the hotel, which can be pretty wonderful if its raining and you planned to go to the zoo! LOL
