"Relaxing get away"
We came to see San Francisco but did not want to stay in the hustle and bustle. This little town is so quant and lovely. Because the hotel is smaller they are able to give you more of a b&b feeling. Breakfast in the room every morning and wine and cheese to look over the bay in the evening. We will stay here again if ever we return to the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome place, noisy by ferry."
We loved the hotel, it's charming and in a great spot. The deck overlooking the bay is a great place for a drink or breakfast - we even caught a boat race there! Only complaint was that it was noisy in the am when commuters took the ferry. I think that was just our room and it wasn't that bad.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Terrific vacation spot"
We loved the comfort, charm, and convenience of Water's Edge. From the hotel deck, you could watch the constantly changing San Francisco skyline across the bay. The staff did everything possible to make sure you stay was perfect. And, the breakfasts were wonderful full meals.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Price was right for the location. One of the best stays my wife and I ever experienced at a hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed for a night on the way back from wine country. Everything about the hotels was top notch-Location, decor, rooms and service. We had a second floor room that led out to a beautiful deck overlooking the marina. Front desk agents were very helpful and went out of their way to accomodate everything we asked for, from ice buckets to umbrella service […] out on the deck, to late night snacks tray even though they didnt offer room service. They did have a breakfast service that was excellent. Will be back and would highly recommend! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A get away across the bay!"
We loved the charm of the area, the setting of Water's Edge, the view from our room, the nice touches offered throughout the day...wine & cheese in the late afternoon, chilled water, fire pit on the balcony during the evening...it was a true get away!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Right on the water...loved this place."
The only reason I didn't give this all 5's was because not all of the rooms have a water view. The hotel is beautiful with a great location and is within walking distance to all kinds of shops and restaurants. It also has incredible, unobstructed views across the harbor to Angel Island and San Francisco. The staff was amazing, very eager to make sure […] all their guests have an outstanding experience. "I love this hotel"
I had a lovely comfortable stay recently, and was saddened that they didn't have a room for me on the final night of my trip so I had to move down the road to a competing establishment that just isn't as good. Loved the in-room fireplace, the complimentary breakfast and the vast list of TV channels. A great place to unwind after a full day of business […] meetings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was one of the best hotels I've stayed in recently. Classical music in the room as we arrived. A chaise lounge for reading under a large window. Wine and cheese happy hour reception. "Incredible Customer Service and Comfort"
Water's Edge was fantastic from the minute we were greeted at reception to the day we checked out. A deluxe continental breakfast was delivered to our room daily and we enjoyed wine and cheese nightly on the patio overlooking San Francisco. "Pampered By The Bay"
Waters Edge Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. From the moment you step in the front door you feel " special". Staff is very attentive and courteous. Breakfast in bed every morning at what time you want. Coffee, tea. and fresh water is always available. Each room is designed for comfort. Fireplace in each room. Bathroom is large. From most rooms there […] is a wonderful view of the Bay. Hotel is close to restaurants and shopping but is quiet. Hotel staff will help you find a restaurant and book dinner reservation. Everyday from 5-6:30PM there is wine and cheese available in lobby. My daughter is pregnant and unable to drink alcohol so they prepared her a wonderful non-alcoholic cocktail. On the second floor of hotel is a wonderful deck for relaxing and enjoying the view. I stayed for 4 days and loved every minute of my stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fabulous views comfortable room & wonderful staff"
What a wonderful way to end our San Francisco & Napa vacation. Tiburon is adorable and Water's Edge is a perfect place to stay. The hotel couldn't be more convenient to everything, especially the ferry which is right next door. The views of the Bay Bridge and the San Francisco skyline from the deck are spectacular! We had a private deck as well, but […] the common area deck had comfortable seating and a firepit in the evening. We enjoyed our afternoon snack out there and our morning coffee. The hotel offers wine and cheese in the evening which was very nice. Breakfast in your room is included as well, just choose from the simple menu the preceding night. The rooms are nice and they seem to be upgrading things over time. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom newer with environmentally friendly products, the large refillable bottles, in the shower (Yay!) There are fridges in the rooms too. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful in answering questions. We had intended to use the bikes that you can borrow but instead opted to walk all over the area. This is also a nice place to stay if you want to visit San Francisco as the ferry is convenient and a 50 minute ride to the wharf. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent Hotel with tons of personal touches!!!!!"
The Waters Edge Hotel is my new best place to stay in the Bay area! We used to stay at the Casa Madrona in Sausalito, but they have lost their personal touches like breakfast in the morning, etc. The Waters Edge has very comfortable rooms with soft pillows and bedding. Our room had a fireplace and there was a fire log placed by it both nights that we […] stayed there. We had a small balcony to sit at and view the bay. Breakfast was served to our room every morning at no extra charge. You just fill out what you'd like from a list and leave it on your door each night. There was wine, cheese, crackers and fruit served in the lobby every night and they were extremely generous with the wine! :) There is a wonderful balcony at the end of the hotel facing Angels Island and the bay with seating for guests and a fire-pit. The young man tending the lobby even brought up wine to refill our glasses so that we didn't have to go back downstairs! The ferry to Angels Island is right next door...very convenient. Restaurants and shopping were close by the hotel and within walking distance. We did have to pay to park our car each night, but it was only $15/night and was very close to the hotel. The hotel offers bikes to ride at no charge. They are parked on the front porch of the hotel. This hotel was worth every penny and the charm of the hotel and Tiburon made our visit extremely pleasant. :-) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"CANT SAY ENOUGHT ABOUT THE VIEW!"
Great spot. Super comfy room and nice hotel facilites. The only reason I didn't rate this place excelllant was none of the descriptions tell you the hotel is on a narrow side street where there is absolutley nooooo parking. We went in circles unitl we found a 3 monute parking zone to unload the bags. They have a parking lot they use down the street […] which is $15 a night people!!! I just think that should be explained in advance to guests. We could also hear a motor running most of the night which was probably a near by boat or houseboat with the generator on. LOVE everything else! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The view to San Fransisco was fantastic. Micheal went out of his way to be helpful!!!!!!!!!! I wish that the breakfast had more choices.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The next time you're thinking about a romantic getaway in San Francisco, consider this little gem of a hotel right on the water in Tiburon-----it's right next to the ferry terminal and you can be at Fisherman's Wharf or downtown in much less time than it would take you to drive from the airport: and what a trip, by Angel Island and Alcatraz, with a […] view of the Golden Gate bridge the whole way. And you'll probably spend much less than an equivalent hotel in the City. The rooms are large and comfortable, the service excellent, breakfasts terrific and there's an astounding back deck where you can breakfast with an incredible view of San Francisco. A wonderful stay. Excellent customer service. Mike and Sunny took very good care of us during our 4 days. "Peaceful and charming respite"
We just loved staying in Tiburon and the Waters Edge Hotel. The service was terrific and includes complimentary wine and cheese in the evening and an excellent continental breakfast in the morning, served in any location of your choice. The rooms are spacious and quiet and the deck, with the view of the San Francisco skyline is delightful. We were right […] next to the ferry to San Francisco and the one to Angel Island. So nice to be able to cruise over to the big city and not have to drive.. If all you are planning is spending time in San Francisco, then forget about rental cars! Jump on the BART at the airport, take it to the Embarcadero and ferry over to the hotel in Tiburon. You can commute back and forth on the boat, avoiding all the parking hassles in SF. "Great hotel, excellent location."
We enjoyed everything about this hotel. It's located on the water and while our room overlooked the restaurant next door we did not find it noisy at all. The breakfast that's brought up to your room is very good and if you need extra coffee there's a pot just down the hall, easily accessible when wearing one of the hotel's robes.Genuine Expedia guest review
First off, this could be a great hotel if the staff was interested in learning anything about hospitality. Secondly, do not say your pet friendly when you clearly are not. When I went to check in the front desk person immediately was rude about me bringing my dog and proceeded to charge $80 for the first night and then $25 thereafter for our dog, non-refundable.... […] however hotels.com states there are no fees and there are no fees listed on their site. After stating my issues the General Manager even called me to apologize for their actions. Third... the restaurant below the room is extremely loud, at all times of the night and day, it never lets up. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Waters Edge Hotel Once again, my apologies, Troy. Admittedly, you did have a very negative experience with one of our hosts, and again, I would be as frustrated and angry as you are, had that happened to me. It was not condoned, at all. When we spoke, you had mentioned that the rest of my staff was "amazing." That meant alot, and I bring it up so that you who are reading this know this was a very isolated experience. Our apologies, also, for the miscommunication on the pet fee. We do our best to have our policies clear, on all of our partner sites, such as Hotels.com, and we don't at the moment. We will fix this. We do charge for pets, $80 for the first night, and $25 thereafter. It is not our intention to mislead, at all. On warm, weekend nights, Sam's can be noisy. Again, our apologies. While it is out of our control, we are are in communication with our neighbors and are trying to get this problem solved. There are rooms where this is much more of a problem than others, and you were in one. This is an intermittent problem, on warm, summer, weekend nights, though we know, can be a very frustrating one, for rooms that are near the restaurant. Thank you for reading, and we will use your comments to do better. Sincerely, Justin Flake General Manager Waters Edge Hotel
"Great spot for a night's rest in Tiburon"
Tiburon is a sleepy (and quite cool) little town at the water's edge, just north of SF, and this hotel is the perfect little boutique place for it. We checked in quite late, but were warmly welcomed. Our room wasn't huge, but it was comfortable, with a view out over the water. Breakfast delivered to the room was a nice (and filling) touch. All in all, […] it was a good stay. "One of the finest hotels in all of AMERICA!"
I wanted a REAL vacation away from it all, yet close to my favorite city, San Francisco. Saw Water's Edge on Hotels.com and decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed. In fact, I was overjoyed! The room is wonderful. I opened the window and was overwhelmed by the spectacular view of The City across the blue waters of the bay! Sun deck was awesome. […] Wine & Cheese Happy Hour was delightful. 24-hour fresh-brewed coffee. Plus a deluxe COMPLIMENTARY continental breakfast that includes bagels & lox! All this and Tiburon, too! "Best view in Tiburon!"
The rooms were pretty nice. Loved that they bring breakfast to your room! Also liked the deck, although it is shared with other guests. The hotel allows you to bring your dog, so we shared the deck with an incredibly yappy poodle and another dog who were all over the place and on the furniture. These dogs made the deck and not fun place to be, so we […] ended up going out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Jewel in Tiburon"
Awesome hotel centered in heart of charming town of Tiburon. Room was beautiful with old world wood beams, coffee, fruit, wine and cheese at 5:30. Only drawback was parking as it was in a close lot for $15/day. Second day we found another lot approximately 3 blocks away for $4/day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We found the room and bed very comfortable, and having a fireplace was a real treat, as was the wine and cheese hour and coffee and ice water available in the hall. We enjoyed all of that. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. The only negatives were the somewhat small bathroom counter, cold breakfast, and unusable balcony (tiny!) with no view, […] unless you count craning your neck over the balcony, although we paid extra for the Deluxe King room with a view. All that said, I'd definitely come again, but would remember to ask for a real view... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel with sensational views"
Fantastically situated with a communal lounging deck on the water's edge where you can enjoy your free happy hour wine and cheese watching the sun set over the Bay. "At the S.F. Bay, with stunning views"
I like the "minimalistic" style of the hotel. A very relaxing atmosphere. The view from the deck, available for everyone, is simply stunning: the small yacht harbor, angel island, the S.F. skyline and the water of the Bay, birds flying.......Good size rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely hotel but needs some work"
Lovely hotel right on the water at the end of the town of Tiburon. We would have enjoyed our stay much more had the toilet in the washroom not been broken and cycled all night. Also the walls are very thin so we were awoken by out neighbors talking, talking showers, etc. Also, we found a cockroach in our room, which creeped me out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Waters Edge Hotel Dear Kim, I'm really sorry to be so blunt, but you did not see a cockroach in our hotel. In the 4 years I've managed the hotel, I have not seen one. Perhaps you saw a bug, but it wasn't a cockroach. Seeing a bug is not necessarily any more pleasant, but just the word "cockroach" makes the hair on the back of one's neck stand up, and I want to be clear for anyone who is reading this review, that that is not the case at Water Edge. I'm very sorry your neighbors were loud and the toilet ran. All of these things, we could have done something about, for you, during your stay, had you brought it to our attention. I wish we had had the opportunity to show you how responsive we are to any issues that arise during the stays of our guests. I hope you'll give us another chance, and though we always strive for our guests to have no issues at all, that you will let us know, right away, if you do. To those who are reading, please allways let us know if there is a problem and we will fix it, right away. If you have any concerns and would like to contact me, directly at the hotel. Please call me at (415) 789-5093. Thank you. Sincerely, Justin Flake General Manager Waters Edge Hotel
"christmas in Tiburon 2012"
Great place to stay in Marin County.Views toward San Francisco were wonderful, and the hotel was cozy, beautiful, and the people were very kind.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely little hotel, comfortable rooms, very nice "extras." I would recommend a room on the 2nd floor (there are only 2), or at the very back of the first, which is literally at water's edge. The wine and cheese in the early evening, and the daily breakfast delivered to your room was much nicer than expected - very pleasing. And it was lovely to have […] the fireplace and a fresh log for it each day. The desk staff seemed a little disorganized, but everything went well and we felt well taken care of. Nice restaurants within a few doors or blocks, a little pricey, but the food was good and service friendly. Overall a very relaxing, nice experience I would not mind repeating!
