We loved our stay at this hotel. Never having been to Istanbul we did not what to expect from a 4 star "Special Class" hotel. As it turns out, it was fantastic. We pre-arranged for pickup at the airport and the transfer to the hotel went flawlessly (but can't do anything about Istanbul traffic!). Since the airport transfer was booked through the hotel, […] we did not pay the driver directly-the hotel managed that payment. We utilized this approach for a taxi trip during our three day stay and again for the transfer to our cruise ship terminal. Our final hotel bill correctly reflected the taxi service charges. The location is perfect; 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazaar. Every afternoon we enjoyed a fantastic view from the rooftop bar-restaurant. At night, watching the Bosphorus bridge change colors was truly amazing. The breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of food, both Turkish and international dishes. My wife also highly recommended the spa service at the hotel. The hotel was very clean; maid service was good. The front desk and concierge was always helpful with advice, directions, etc. The bellhop brought our luggage to our room promptly. The elevator always worked well. We felt very safe in this area of the city. The wi-fi service only worked well in the lobby. I had very spotty coverage in our 3rd floor room. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the Old City in Istanbul. Read more

great hotel and location! it is in the place you want to be as a vacationer. the tram is literally right outside the front door that runs everywhere you want to be....and cost about $2 per ride. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed living in the middle of the sights. Take a right down the main street beside the hotel and in three blocks you are at the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia, and if you follow the tram tracks a couple more blocks down hill you are at the Tokapi Palace. Turn left from the hotel and you are two blocks from the Grand Bazaar. I found the staff to be extremely helpful. The hotel is very reasonably priced too and close to all major sites (Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia) and to many good restaurants. The breakfast is also very good. I highly recommend it!

Pierre Loti is a well situated hotel with good staff services. Our room was a bit over the hill and in need of an overhaul. The bed, though comfortable, was very low. The bedspread appeared to be quite old and in need of replacement. Restaurant service took a long time for lunch, while bar service was reasonably prompt.

This hotel have a very good location if you want to be in Sultanahmet. But the hotel is MAYBE worth 2 stars. The rooms are small and you can only get one keycard for the dor because they not have enough keycards. Every time you come back to the hotel and ask for the key they have to find a key card and program it for your door.

It is perfectly located for all key tourist attractions such as Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Palace, etc. with these being no more than a 5 minute walk away. PIERRE LOTI This hotel is well situated in the centre of "old" Istanbul for the main tourist sites, and 150 yards from the main tramway stop. Our bedroom was small but quite adequate with shower only, but the beds were a bit hard. Breakfast (and some of the staff) left something to be desired, but generally others were helpful within their linited […] English. There is a lift which stops at the 4th floor; with the breakfast room on the 5th floor and the restaurant on the floor above (roof level), this could be a problem for a disabled guest having to use the staircase. Istanbul is an interesting and historic city on both the European and Asian sides, and there are plenty of places to see outside the normal tourist spots, which are very crowded as is the transport system. Eating out is no problem since almost everywhere there are plenty of good restaurants. A word of warning to the disabled visitor: there are a lot of curbs, steps and staircases to negotiate but few lifts available. Although the currency is the Turkish Lira, the Euro is widely accepted, but not the pound stirling. UK citizens, be prepared to pay for the entry visa with 15 Euros. Read more
