NO hairdryer, thin walls. Originally put us in a smoking room.

We had a quiet room. Had to ask for a hairdryer.

I travel a lot and I loved this place . Just very nice , clean and quite. The manger Jerry is a charm he went out of his way for us . We stayed 5 days .

Nice place to stay; good price without all the 'extra's'. Nice ppl working there and elevator made it easier to navigate even if on top floor.

Very convenient and close to interstate. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. The first time we stayed, we forgot to take our pillow with us. When we checked back in the following Sunday they had put it into a plastic bag and returned it to us. Included continental breakfast was OK. Would stay there again if the chance arises. Loved the wall length mirror so that someone can be putting on make-up/doing hair while the other person was using the bathroom. Clean rooms. Will stay there again.

If all you want to do is sleep this place is ok. 19 inch tube TV's in rooms. Poor at best breakfast offering. I will say the place was spotless and the staff was polite.

We were very happy with our stay. We were in town for the whitetail deer classic so didn't need alot of extras as we were only there to sleep.The staff was very pleasant. Our room was clean & comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Loved having extra pillows in our room without asking. Continental breakfast was good...toaster waffles, assorted flavored […] bagels with flavored cream cheese, assorted muffins and cereals. Even the pizza delivery guy we met in the elevator was friendly & nice and pizza smelled amazing. Very nice hotel for the price, was a little disappointed when AARP membership was not honored. I would stay here again.

The front desk service was very nice. The maid service between nights could have been better. The beds weren't made very well between nights and there weren't any sheets or blankets in the room for the pull out couch in the suite. If you wanted them you had to go and get them..

I was very pleased with my stay. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. The room was small but large enough for one person. The fitness room was small. I would definitely stay here again and would consider staying at this chain again.

pretty inexpensive hotel, nice for the price. Beds are comfortable, location is good, pretty clean, etc. Downsides are breakfast is mediocre and rooms are small, though they are plenty big enough for a basic stay, just not if you need to have a family or more than 2 people in the room. would recommend it for most people's needs.

I always stay at a microtel if i can, clean room's a fairly new chain and this hotel was fine and a culver's next door if you are hungry.

We were in the Des Moines area for a wedding. Hotel was convieniently located just off of the interstate. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. We just needed a place to sleep and didn't need any of the frills like a pool etc. Had free wi-fi if we needed it. Many eating oppurtunities within a few minute drive or within walking distance. I had a great experience at this hotel - the room was very clean and smelled fresh. They have great flat-panel TVs and they allow you to use the other inputs so I could watch movies off my iPod, unlike many competitors in the area. Above all, the price was right!

Paper thin walls. Very simply a basic room. Will not stay there again.

Clean, comfortable, cost effective. The only thing we would change would be the lighting situation in the rooms, quality of breakfast and the TV.

Was VERY disappointed in this hotel. Upon check-in had to wait for an extended period of time for inexperinced employee to attempt check-in, rooms are small (enough area to walk on both sides of bed is all), entire hotel had a horriffic smell to it (sewage like) and when I asked an employee about it the response was "this is how it always smells". Good basic, inexpensive place to spend the night. Easy interstate access. Arby's, Ruby Tuesday, Culvers within easy walking distance. Gas station a block away. Otherwise, nothing much in the area.

Very nice room. Small, but all the emenities. Quiet, good location. We came in at 11:30 p.m. and had no problem getting checked in. Would recommend it.

We were very pleased. It's not a luxury hotel but excellent for short stays and very affordable. We usually get in late, leave early and are looking for a clean place with a good bed. Fit our needs perfectly.

It's been a long time since I've stayed in a room without a hairdryer. Just thought they all had them now. Called down to the front desk to ask for a loaner but they were out and there was a waiting list. I guess I wasn't the only one. The first room we were given was missed by the cleaning staff. When I went to the front desk, they were amazed and very apologetic about the room's condition. They gave us a free upgrade to a suite room with all the amenities the hotel offered as a compensation for our experience. great place for the rate we got, clean and easy acess to I80

I was excited about the fitness room until I checked it out, only to find the treadmill out of order. Also a plus to find out there was breakfast that the website did not advertise.

I travel alot for work and this hotel the best bang for your buck. I have stayed at other hotels that cost upwards of 200.00 a night that weren't this nice.

I wonder why a king room is not offered.

My family just got back from staying at this wonderful hotel. When booking I read alot of bad comments on it. But I can honestly say this was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We had a queen suite and it was roomy and very clean. There are not alot of frills, but everything you need at a great price.

The hotel and room was clean. Staff helpful. They need to repair the big holes in the parking lot concrete. Hard to navigate through in the dark.

The room was clean, and simple. No microwave or mini fridge. The bed was stiff to hard but it was not worn. We had hot water in the morning. The continental breakfast was the bare minimum and the coffee was weak. Can you say we didn't get what we paid for? No, not at all and if the minimum is all you want then it will be great for you.

Excellent value and cleanliness. Staff very friendly and helpful and location is great with Starbuck's nearby along with several restaurants, grocery store, Walgreens and a first-run movie theater!!!

For a relatively new hotel in a quiet neighborhood, situated right off the highway, this was lovely. Corn fields across the street make sure you know that you are really in Iowa. My only complaint is the exercise room, which was advertised and frankly a big reason that I selected the hotel. Big room with an old stairmaster, an older exercise bike, […] and a treadmill with an "Out of Order" sign. However, the neighborhood was safe and lovely, and taking a power walk around the corn field was a terrific alternative. Good value for the money. In good weather, I'd enjoy staying there again. Hotel Manager and staff was excellent with working with me when my reservation was not correct through hotels.com. I felt they did everything they could to accommodate me and I would recommend this hotel to others. Can't beat the price and location!

The stay at microtel in urbandale Iowa was fantastic, there was no noise. Service was great.

Everything was very nice, only thing the electronic key entrance did not work very well, but after several times of trying it did.

Read the reviews regarding this property prior to booking - The "gym" consists of three pieces of equipment in which only one works. From other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing problem. The complimentary breakfast is very basic; breads, pre-made waffles, cereal, juice & coffee. No lobby internet service - although, they do have free wifi.
