My husband, three children and I stayed in a suite. It was nice to have so much space and two rooms to spread out. The only problem was that the couch did not fold out into a bed as I expected, so we had to get a roll away bed--no big deal. The french doors separating the bedroom from the sitting area did not have any curtains, so we had to drape a sheet over them for privacy. When we called the front desk for an extra blanket, we were told they were out--that just seemed strange. It was nice to have the small kitchen area in the room, and especially helpful to have it stocked with dishes and silverware! The kids loved the pool and the rec room/game room. The breakfast was great--is is always nice to have a combination of hot and cold food. The hotel is a bit remote, no restaurants within wlaking distance. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

There needs to be either a bigger sofa or more chairs in the suite rooms for sitting on. Our suite provided enough seating for 3 people ( sofa sat 2 and there was 1 chair )- we had 4 in our room so you could see there was a problem here. I was very impressed with the pool and the service received by the front desk staff was exceptional. D. Pals

I must say that my stay here was better than expected. I arrived at the airport and called the hotel for the airport shuttle. However, they don't exactly have a shuttle. I was told to take any taxi out front and they would drop me off at the hotel. The hotel paid the cab driver with a voucher. The clerk handed me a registration slip which I promptly filled out. He handed me my room keys right away. Granted, the clerk wasn't busy at the moment, but the whole process took 5 minutes or less! The hotel appeared to be relatively new. It was clean, comfortable, and had a continental breakfast - although not initially advertised. In addition, there is a pool, hot tub, and a "game room". There were pool tables, chairs, and a big screen TV in the game room. My room was comfortable and very clean. It was definitely a great value for my money.

My husband and I stayed at Baymont Inn for a weekend while in Des Moines for a marathon. The short, direct (less than 10 minute) drive to downtown Des Moines was no issue for us. The hotel was very nice and our room was quite comfortable. I was especially impressed with the quality of the complimentary breakfast buffet. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again, and would recommend this to our friends.

Getting to the hotel late at night wasn't very fun. Our GPS told us to take all backroads and it seemed like no one was around. The hotel was near a main road, however. The set-up gave off more of a conference center look and feel, which was a turn-off since we were traveling for pleasure. The pool did look nice, though, and we didn't get a chance to try the breakfast. Our room smelled kind of funky and I found a hair on one of the hand towels, both of which somewhat disgusted me. The rest of the room, and the way it was set up was nice, though. Overall, it wasn't HORRIBLE, but I wouldn't go back.

I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was very friendly, and it has many amenities you don't see at most hotels. There was a recreation room with pool tables and arcade games. The breakfast was a step above with biscuits and gravy and sausage patties along with the normal.

I booked this hotel to keep within a budget and I was very impressed with the ammenities that they offered for that price. The FREE Breakfast was absolutely wonderful with many options available. My husband and I spent time in the hot tub and pool. We had a very enjoyable time and there were many restaurant choices close by.

The service of the staff was outstanding, but the room needed improvements. The Beds were rock hard slabs and weren't wide enough for two normal size adults. The pillows were flat as a pancake. The room also needed a little bit of maintance to really make it perfect. Overall I don't think I would stay here again.

The hotel is easy to find and I liked that is close to major highways, but still in a quiet area. The only thing that I didn't care for was that you had to drive quite a bit to find ristaurants other than fast food. The pool area was nice with a jacuzzi also and the idea that they still include breakfast was very appealing to me. I wouldn't change much at all about the hotel. Thanks

The hotel lobby was very nice, but the rooms did not live up to the lobby. There were burn holes in the bed spread and the desk. This room was a non-smoking room. There were stains on the carpet and the faucet on the sink outside of the bathroom did not work. The beds were sub standard and very uncomfortable. We will not stay in a Baymont Hotel again because of this location.

This hotel was perfect. It's a little bit out of the way but what that means is that it's safe, quiet and restful - no noise from traffic or a big urban area. The room was very clean and kept at a decent temperature. This is the first hotel that doesn't keep its rooms at a nighttime temperature below freezing!!! Beds are comfortable and they smell nice and fresh. The breakfast bar was filled with delicious selections of rolls, bagels plus biscuits, gravy and sausage patties and GREAT coffee with REAL cream (the liquid from-a-cow kind). The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The only thing I would note for those planning to stay here is that you do have to drive a few blocks to reach a restaurant but there is a restaurant on the premises for those wanting a quick bite. For those who want to drive, a selection of fast food and sit-down type restaurants are only a couple miles away and very easy to find. The pool looked inviting and there is a delightful outside courtyard where you can take your morning coffee - or a cold beverage in the evening!!! I would highly recommend this for business travelers, it's very close to the airport, or for those stopping through on their way to another destination.
