Amazing place, would definitely recommend! The service is incredible. The hotel grounds are stunning and set in a lush hillside. Beautiful pools, and the beach that you can shuttle to by boat is beautiful.

"Capella holiday"
The hotel was fabulous as were all the staff, special mentions must go to Sasha on the front desk who always took the time to chat to my kids, Monty our personal assistant was always helpful and cheerful, Marcia our room cleaner was also great to chat with wherever and whenever we saw her. The only small negative thing I would say is about the breakfasts. Although it was nicely laid out etc it just became monotonous, it was the same thing everyday. There was also the matter about small insects crawling in the sweet food items which we drew the staff's attention to. This improved slightly when the layout was changed but I would suggest that the staff need to remain constantly vigilant about this. The cost of the taxis were also really high but then again they were luxury cars and we felt completely safe with all the drivers. All in all we had a fantastic trip and I would most definitely return to Capella Marigot Bay, beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location.

"Wonderful secluded paradise."
We just returned from St. Lucia and had an amazing and relaxing time at Capella Marigot Bay. We had originally reserved and stayed at a different resort and had a very bad experience. We decided to switch hotels, could not have chosen a better place to change our minds about Saint Lucia, the overall experience, from the staff, the room, the food and the grounds (also the beach, though I did not go, my husband advised that it was the best snorkeling so far in the Caribbean) was just a dream. If we go back to St Lucia, there is only one place for us to stay, and we are definitely recommending it to all our friends and family. Thank you very much for having us and for making us feel so welcome and pampered.

"The most relaxing hotel experience"
This was a lovely hotel - not too big, not too small, with the right amount of everything. The staff were fabulous - very professional yet friendly. There were numerous instances in the day when the hotel staff would bring you something - a taster of fresh sushi, a smoothie, a sweet treat or a cocktail. When we returned to our rooms in the evening there were two bottles of beer and some plantain chips. At night we were always left cookies or chocolate. It was really lovely. We had no complaints at all - the service was spot on. We will be seeking out Capella Hotels in the future!

"Will leave a lasting and happy memory"
Am writing this review, sitting on the balcony, drinking the complimentary rum, ice and coconut water, of our room at the Capella Marigot Bay, at the end of a superb few nights here. This is our second time here, once with a standard room, and once with a 1 bed apartment. Both are superbly appointed and a pleasure to use. Especially the spacious bathroom, with his and hers vanity areas. The days start well with a pre breakfast coffee looking out across the moored yachts to the verdant hillside beyond. So lovely to enjoy the bay fully - many island tours stop by on the hill above for a phote opp, before heading on their way. The breakfast room is lovely with good views, tasty food, with friendly and courteous staff. As are the staff throughout the resort. A kayak trip is worthwhile, 15 minutes takes one outside the bay to a nice snorkel location, a few minutes more to a sandy beach. In the centre of which is a 20 foot wide sand bar, and one can kayak up the river Roseau. Peaceful with just the sound of birds and the breeze in the sugar cane. In the evening, one can eat in the hotel, or stroll along the boardwalk, admiriring the yachts before a 2 minute ferry to Doolittles for a happy hour cocktail. One can eat there, or for a more romantic dinner, stroll to the Rainforest Hideaway. If visiting St Lucia, a few days at the Capella Marigot Bay, will leave a lasting and happy memory.

Relaxing 9 days in the sun - with good food and plenty of days out diving. And lots of boat watching in the marina. Made to feel really welcome and looked after by the staff.

"Brilliant staff, very professional management."
My husband and I have just come back and could not have been happier. We chose this bay as it seemed to be midway between north and south. It was a good decision as we hired a car and visited all points of attractions without any problems as everything is signposted. The bay is the most beautiful in the region. The staff are more than helpful and friendly. We both felt it was the brilliant management that lead to very polite and genuinely friendly staff. There was a minor issue with telephone line which we needed for work however, it was dealt with immediately and put right. We could not recommend this hotel higher. It was run better than most 5 stars we have been to.

"Fantastic hotel in beautiful Caribbean bay"
We LOVED this hotel - it was virtually flawless. The hotel staff, like all the other Lucians we met, were absolutely fantastic - the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Facilities were excellent - there was nothing missing; the place has 3 restaurants, a great bar, a superb pool (with another, poolside, bar), a brilliant gym, a spa etc. The food was fantastic and the chef, Billy, even offered to and did go out of his way to accommodate our off-menu dietary requirements. The bay is one of the most beautiful places you're ever likely to see. We were a little concerned that after we booked but before our holiday, some reviewers complained that there was no beach nearby and the building work was a disturbance. Well, there is a beach very close - not a big one, but perfectly adequate, and in our view it was great not to have sand everywhere in the hotel; sunbathing by the pool was as good or better. (Anyway, to those reviewers who whinged about that - it's not hard to see that the hotel is not on a beach before booking!) Whilst we were there (20 - 29 Mar 2014), the building work was very rarely a disturbance, and when it was it was usually quiet and very short-lived. I gather it is to be completed in May sometime, but I would recommend that people wanting to visit before then do not hesitate to book regardless - it is a fine, fine, hotel and we had a fantastic time.

"Excellent hotel"
Excellent hotel, excellent location, unbelievable natural beauty, attentive staff, wide selection of breakfast options, spacious standard rooms (we had the resort view- turned out to be resort and bay view). Plenties of options to eat outside the hotel (Chateau Mygo a frequent options for us), but hotel restaurant reasonably priced and good food too, nice hotel bar for evening/sunset drinks, free activities (sailing, snorkeling etc) and beach across the bay with free mini-ferry ride.

"Fantastic paradise resort in an AMAZING LOCATION !"
Absolutely fabulous luxury resort with two gorgeous pools and gardens in the most stunning location imaginable. Suites are beautiful with fantastic bathrooms. Best thing about the place is the staff, really courteous and super friendly and helpful. Currently undergoing renovations, which didn't bother us at all. Will be even more fantastic when finished.

"Great Hotel with amazing staff"
We spent 10 days here and had a great time. The hotel location was gorgeous with a wonderful room, and if you love boats, it's right on the marina of the beautiful Marigot Bay. We were all inclusive and quality of the food was excellent, the best in the bay, even better than the Rainforest Hideaway Restaurant which is highly rated by all. The hotel is under new management since August last year, and they are investing heavily in a superb makeover. This will be finished in June at the latest and in the meantime there is some inconvenient works going on but after a day we hardly noticed. In fact we were fascinated by the speed at which the workmen got on with the job. Best of all was the attitude of the staff at the hotel. Everyone (reception, maid, restaurant, bar, gardeners, porters, maintenance and pool) was so friendly, happy and helpful it made our holiday so pleasurable we were sad to leave. Name checks to Jean, Tessa, Vanya, Nathalia, Samantha, Leslie, Tracy, Tasha, Trudy and Jeroen, and if I've forgotten someone then it's the jet-lag or old age, sorry. We want to come back again and see the new facilities please.

"Paradise at Capella Marigot Bay, St. Lucia"
When my husband and I arrived at the Capella, Marigot Bay, St. Lucia, we were speechless by the beauty. It truly is paradise. The most gorgeous view of the bay, luxury accomodations, lush vegetation with hibiscus growing everywhere, hummingbirds buzzing about, little canaries wanting to share whatever morsel you are eating, morning doves cooing, friendly, helpful and professional staff, delicious food and warm humid temperatures. We stayed for 12 days and were terribly sad to have to leave. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return again in a heartbeat!

Although the check in desk was conveniently located off the road, the check out location was a long distance from the road. And, we were not informed that we had to check out at this distant location in the hotel, and at 6 in the morning this was a bit of a problem for us and the staff.

"Lovely hotel in the wonderful Marigot bay"
Marigot bay was our final hotel in our St Lucia trip. The staff were very welcoming, provided us with a room upgrade and were very flexible on check in and check out times. At times we felt reception was a little slow but they were always keen and pleased to accomodate any requests that we had. We will definitely go back to this hotel. It is going through a refurbishment in 2014 but we thought that the standard was good as of now. Looking forward to seeing the improvements! Meeting the chef Victor was very nice and Natasha was superb!

"Discovery at Marigot Bay"
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. This was only my second trip to the south and the first experience was definitely lacking in customer service. This experience was truly heavenly. Our room was amazing-we did get an unexpected upgrade which was nice. We booked a bay view despite the reviews we read and lucked out with a fantastic bay view and a great balcony from which to enjoy. We had 2 very minor issues - our air conditioner was not cooling very well night #1. A quick call to the front desk and they had someone at our door in 15 minutes at 10 pm and it was fixed next am. Our door lock was a bit finicky and it was fixed ASA. The housekeeping was topnotch. The pools and spa facilities, reception, Hurricane Hole and Boudreau room were all very well-maintained. The staff were unbelievable attentive and friendly throughout the hotel and made the stay. We really enjoyed the food. The gym could have used better equipment but was adequate. We were a bit antsyafter 9 days in the Bay-we are not great at lounging. We wished arranged ahead for more days of car rental. Reviews on-line about the driving had made us reluctant,but it wasn't bad-you had to be cautious and drive slowly. The local beach wasn't the best, but we knew that going into it. So we did spend a few days and a few dollars getting rides in water taxis enabling us to see more of the Island. We also expected there would be more of a local market with local shops and eateries but there were not too many closeby.

"Tranquil restful spot"
We stayed at Discovery in Jan- Feb 2013 and really enjoyed the hotel. We asked for a quiet room and got it (but then occupancy rates were very low). Its best asset is its fantastic professional, friendly, supportive staff albeit some of the furniture is tired. It’s situated on a mangrove swamp, so pack mozzie repellent (citronella spray provided in the rooms) & fly spray (screens on the rooms are ripped in places). We were told the menu at the Hurricane Hole and Boudreau Restaurant changes regularly but we saw no evidence of it doing so. Service at the café was slow – but the food at all these was good and tasty. Excellent swimming pools and gardens. Good choice of eateries nearby if you want to go out. Would we choose this hotel again? Without hesitation!

Tout tout proche de l'excellence ! Cet hôtel (de luxe) fait partie des meilleurs que nous avons pu faire (USA, Europe et Océanie). Beauté, service et amabilité du personnel... Que de qualités. Peut être la seule chose à revoir à mon sens, le prix du petit déjeuner, qui n'empêche pas qu'il soit très bon, est très élevé en comparaison à celui des dîners et déjeuners. Bref, à conseiller et en tout cas, je ne chercherai pas d'autres lieux sur Sainte Lucie lors de nos prochaines vacances sur cette île. Stéphane

C'est grand, l'internet est disponible partout sans code, le personnel est attentionné et agréable, c'est très bien pensé en termes d'aménagement des espaces à buller...La marina est magnifique, on peut aller de l'autre coté de la baie gratuitement... Il y a un spa et des soins esthétiques!!!! Un petit bémol pour la carte du room service, pas assez international mais plutôt américain et on ne sait pas trop ce qu'on commande, mais sinon, aucun autre commentaire négatif, c'est splendide!!!

Nous avons passés un très agréable séjour! Les chambres sont spacieuses, la décoration de l'hôtel est moderne et chaleureuse.Magnifique vue sur la baie de Marigot et sur la marina. Départ en taxi boat pour une balade vers les pitons et la soufrière. Le personnel est très accueillant et souriant! Le restaurant propose des plats variés et de bonne qualité. L'hôtel ne possède pas de plage mais la piscine est très agréable. Seul bémol, les chambres sont un peu bruyantes, pas une très bonne isolation.

Hôtel très agréable, très propre, avec un personnel charmant. Cadre magnifique et reposant .Bien situé pour une visite complète de l'ile en voiture. We loved everything about it- even though there was a couple of things that were disappointing.. don't know if it was because of the renovating and transforming to Capella from Discovery Marigot,but the staff was sometimes a bit asleep so to say. We got wrong bills , ordered things like coffee while eating lunch and it never came.. All in all it didn't have that much influence to our holiday,staff was so nice and polite,each and every one of them. Tv in the room was bad,obviously it was reported to staff several times before,but they could not do anything since all the rooms were gonna be fixed one by one. All inclusive in this hotel was great and well recommended,but i would've wish for a better instructions while checking in, from the restaurants as well as all the services the hotel offered...

"UN HAVRE DE PAIX!!!!"
Nous avons été très bien acceuilli. Le cadre est magnifique et reposant, avec une super vue sur la baie. Il n'y a pas de plage mais les piscines de l'hôtel étaient géniales. Le petit déjeuner ètait copieux et bon! Nous conseillons cet hôtel pour tous ceux qui veulent un séjour sans stress et dans un magnifique cadre. Nous y retournerons!!!

We loved staying at the Capella. It's was quiet, beautiful surroundings of yachts coming in and out everyday, as well as great hotel amenities, pool and a spa! The personal assistants at the hotel really did add a wow factor and they were genuinely trying to make our stay special.

Excellent Service. Friendly Staff. Beautiful Room. Sensational Pools and lush landscaping. Close to a quiet beach. Even the hummingbirds were great. If you are looking for a quiet resort to spend a week look no further the Marigot, situated on a small cove on Marigot Bay, where the movie Doctor Doolittle was filed in the 1960s with Rex Harrison. If you're the Sandals-type, this place isn't for you. But if you enjoy quiet magnificent surroundings in a cove surrounding by lush tropical forests, then go for it. The place won't bankrupt you. My wife and I stayed for 6 days with airfare for about $2200. It has no beach per say. But, a free ferry takes you across the cove to Marigot Beach, where a private area has been set up for hotel quests. Adjacent is the public beach, where the venders are waiting. At the beach, watch for the "banana man," wearing a red Santa hat. He is on a paddleboard and brings fresh organic bananas. And since the resort is a marina, you'll get to see spectacular yachts. I'm talking $9 million yachts. I'm talking Oprah Caliber Yachts. I'm talking Major Capitalist Pig type Yachts. The Capella on site restaurants are a bit expensive and maybe a bit above average. But, the small ferry can take you to better less expensive restaurants around the cove. The resort is about an hour ride from the airport. And this is over horrible, hairpin turn, up and down roads that will make you carsick. Some people even go as far as hiring a helicopter to take them back to the airport. But overall the Capella is great and worth it.

I share this with you because our feedback is balanced, honest and compared to other high end property stays throughout the world. If you are considering St. Lucia - book the Capella, period! We visited the property in late January to escape the blizzard of Washington DC. Upon our arrival, we were instantly removed from two-feet of snow and in the palm of pure paradise. We had a driver arranged from the hotel who met us at the airport, the car was very nice, the service set the tone for an amazing stay. Yes, it is a lengthy drive but you must appreciate the views of mountains, sea and rainforest - no complaints here. Upon arrival at Marigot Bay, we were greeted by the staff and escorted to our room by Pearl. Pearl was representing Sasha (who was our personal assistant) and committed to ensuring we were provided a "wow" factor each and every moment of our stay! We were upgraded to a top level suite, two balconies and spectacular views. As in previous guests remarks, there are many steps to take; but we loved every single one of them! It is well worth it once you arrive in your top notch accommodations. Rooms are spacious, well decorated with high end island decor, modern amenities, large bathrooms and did I mention the view? Open your door and feel that St. Lucia breeze, no humidity and hear the sounds of pure peace. Pearl was such a delight! Energetic, professional and so accommodating to us - simply put, you will feel like a VIP guest for sure! Rum waiting on the table, fresh cookies and personalized touches from our PA Sasha. The pools are large, plenty of space and very well maintained too. We spent a couple days at each pool to make sure we had a good flavor for both. The larger pool has a bar, towels and spectacular views; while the smaller pool sits closer to the marina, very quiet and provides a beautiful backdrop of sounds coming from the waterfall. Either pool would be recommended, but if you are looking for some music, congregating with other guests and sipping on drinks from the lap pool chairs - stay at main pool. If there was anything on site that needs some Capella love and attention; its the fitness center: it is basic and does not feel consistent with the rest of the the amazing resort. In addition to the clean grounds, fantastic service levels, updated / modern style rooms and lush views of the marina...I must mention the quality of the food! Since we were on the property for seven days, we had a chance to taste a little bit of everything from each food spot on site. Overall, the food continued to impress us! The grilled fish at the pool, the sushi, caprese sandwiches, deep fried pumpkin and mac & cheese were just a few of our favorites - but you cannot go wrong! Drinks were fantastic, food was even better! If you are a foodie, you will love the unique choices and the generous amounts they provide on each order - you will be full! Aside from the details I provided above, let me take a minute to recognize Sasha our Personal Assistant. Several weeks before our arrival, we began having conversations with her. Upon arrival, she arranged to have Pearl greet us since she would not be there at that time. During our stay, she continued to check in on us, helped us making arrangements and personally visited us during pool time and lunch. After booking a sailing excursion on our behalf, she personally walked us to the pier, introduced the Captain to us and supplied us with a bottle of champagne as a surprise - her attention to detail, energy, passion for the guests satisfaction and enthusiasm was one of the best we have encountered. It was so refreshing to have a point of contact assisting us with everything during our stay, a true professional and great benefit for us. Turn down service was a delight too! Rooms were freshened, our housekeeper Cynthia provided snacks, extra water and even personalized notes to surprise us each evening. It was always exciting to return to our room and see what she had prepared for us each night - great, classy touch! So, if you are pouring through reviews and looking at picture after picture - you can stop now. Simply jump online and book your stay with Capella Marigot Bay, you will not regret it! The resort and the staff do an outstanding job hitting on all of your senses while keeping you impressed with their energetic service levels. There are many choices I know, but I would not second guess this one...book it and enjoy every minute of your stay!

I have been in the travel business for 17 years now and this resort stands out for it's excellent service, excellent accommodations and relaxed lovely atmosphere. Down side for some would be that there is no beach, but for me watching the yachts coming in and out was better than a beach.

From greeting to departure, could not say more good things. Exceptionally gracious staff. incredible rooms, fantastic food, beautiful views, it is a true six star experience. We hosted an incentive program here and the hotel catered off site venues to perfection.

We stayed for 4 nights in a large bay view suite, with plunge pool. Overall, we had a great stay but did want to echo a few prior commenters because the hotel is not without its hiccups. Pros: - Beautiful large suite with ample amenities (washer dryer, full kitchen, hot whirl pool, two terraces). Perfect for our family with 2 small children. - The suite had a great view of the bay and hillside, with its beautiful lush scenery. - Service overall is great - wonderful touch in being welcomed at the airport, as well as upon arrival at the property, and being escorted by capella personnel upon departure at the airport, which is a wonderful (and rare) service touch. We had a fantastic personal assistant (Faith was amazing). Staff was accommodating in permitting a room switch request. Overall, the staff are great, friendly and helpful. - The in-room and poolside drinks and snacks and afternoon beer and snacks in the room were a very nice touch that you usually only find at top properties. - Food on property was generally of very good quality. Cons: - Poolside service is very uneven and can be slow. - Restaurant and room service (kitchen service) can also be slow and uneven - we waited for room service for 75 min one night. One night for dinner at the grill, it took our main courses more than 30 min to come AFTER our appetizers were taken away. For a hotel with capella's aspirations, it would benefit from more training of staff members associated with restaurant service, as well as a bit more expanded room service menu. Many staff members poolside and at restaurant were not familiar with the menu offerings. - We had the most fantastic personal assistant but did find that service from personal assistants that were not our assigned one was quite uneven. - Lack of beach on property. Do not go to capella with any aspirations to use the associated beach (which you take short ferry ride to) - the beach is very small, unmanaged and dirty. The cons are not to deter anyone from going to capella, because it offers a great experience. The punchline is really that with these hiccups, I wouldn't pay a nightly rate of US $800/900 per night for our bay view suite. We paid about $500/nt (because of a special promotion from our credit card) for our suite, which I do think is ultimately reasonable. This hotel offers so much in terms of service, view and space and amenities in the suites. The resort aspires to be among the very top properties of the island but unfortunately falls slightly short.

My wife and I recently returned from the Capella Marigot Bay resort after a few night stay in one of their fabulous suites. We stayed in room 711. It was a large 1 bdrm suite that was central to the lobby and main pool. The room was well equipped with all of the modern amenities required to stay. We were greeted with a nice welcome letter and the fridge stocked with cold soft drinks and water. The room was a 'wow' in our books and had everything we needed for our stay. We had stopped at the market in Castres before heading to the resort and picked up fresh pineapples, mangos, bananas and other fruits for the morning breakfasts. The resort is nicely located on Marigot Bay and the water taxies will take you to some of the other restaurants and locations around the Bay. You do have to take a water taxi to the beach. We did not and primarily stayed at the main pool during the day. The main pool was quiet, but we were given 2 bottles of water on ice and 2 coconuts as a refreshment. The bar is well stocked with premium drinks, however they did run out of draught beer while we were there. We ate at The Grill the first night. It was fantastic. Very good service and the food was excellent. Our second day we had lunch across the bay at Pirate Bay. Excellent fish and chips and the service was also very good. Dinner we ate a Doolittles. Service was lacking, but the food was very good. Recommend the Red Snapper. Both my wife and I had it and it was cooked perfectly. Great Value. It was tough leaving the resort as we wanted to do more...I guess we will just have to return in the future...

As a professional working in the tourism industry for well over 30 years, I have had the opportunity to visit many extraordinary properties around the globe. Capella Marigot Bay definitely ranks as one of the best! The spacious, modern, yet romantic accommodations, most with spectacular views of the bay, and some with plunge pools, were beautiful and very welcoming. The level of service, the amenities, but above all, the genuine warmth of everyone at the resort makes a stay here truly a 5 star plus experience. A special mention needs to be made of Suzette, our housekeeper who went above & beyond to ensure our villa was immaculate, and, noting my love of flowers, left a special flower for me every day of my stay. Her warmth & friendliness so embraced my husband and myself that we left feeling like family. Capella's facilities are first rate and those few items that need to be addressed such as better stair lighting are being addressed. We ate at the Grill Room, the Bayside Cafe (menu too limited I thought), and the Rum Cave. We ate twice at the Rum Cave. The first time the small plates were excellent but were disappointed on our second visit a few days later to find the menu had changed. Maybe this needs rethinking. The one drawback is the small beach across the way. A complimentary boat shuttle to a better beach would be a big plus. Kudos to the GM Daniel for making sure that staff is professional & well trained. My husband and I loved every minute of our stay!

I was there for one week, for a company convention in which we took over Capella Bay. In one week dealing with a corporate event, many things can go wrong, many issues can appear, staff can have a bad moment... NONE OF THIS HAPPENED! Throughout the week we had the most incredible service I have ever experienced. Nothing was too much: "You need to go to the gym, let me walk you there." "You need a car? It will take 5 minutes." "A person got sunburned? The doctor will be here in 10 minutes." Staff learn your name and treat you in a personalized way, cleaning personnel leave you thought provoking notes in the morning and in the evening, management is always around to help... Oh, and the resort itself is beautiful. My mark is 5 stars, because I can't give it 10 stars on Trip Advisor. Incredible! Thank you!

We stayed at Capella twice in 2015 . The first time my wife and I went in june 2015 . The hotel was fantastic and occupancy was low . As such there was no issues with sunloungers by the pool and the service from staff was nothing short of perfect . The only minor issue we had was a theft from our room however the hotel paid us back for the stolen perfume and found the member of staff and sacked them . This trip [and the theft did not cloud our judgement ] made us book again for new year . We arrived on the 28 th december 2015 as a family of 4 and stayed a week before moving to Sugar beach pre booked for the second week . This time however we had issues . My wife and I had to be up by latest 6 am every day to get a sunlounger . If you did not get up early you did not get one and you would be forced to put a towel on the ground . It took a huge amount of time to get served by the pool and just as long to get the bill . Here is the thing though . Despite all of that the place was still lovely and what made it that bit better for me is the managment accepted the issues and took the time to say sorry . They admitted that they were not prepared for full occupany and will not let a repeat of matters happen next year . I believe them as both the food beverages manager who was under extreme pressure new years eve and the general manager both had sincerty and were eager to ensure customers were happy . Capella is in a stunning position [The beach is a non entity ] so do not go there expecting a beach . Also there are lots of steps to most rooms and the wooden stairs are slippery when wet so caution is required but The resort is fantastic the staff lovely the food great and they even made me a meal they had taken off the menu from our june visit . All the hotel needs to do is get a grip of the full capacity issues and it will be top league . We will return and I do urge others to go . A lovely place in a lovely spot with great ,friendly and attentive staff ..
