When my husband and I arrived at the Capella, Marigot Bay, St. Lucia, we were speechless by the beauty. It truly is paradise. The most gorgeous view of the bay, luxury accomodations, lush vegetation with hibiscus growing everywhere, hummingbirds buzzing about, little canaries wanting to share whatever morsel you are eating, morning doves cooing, friendly, helpful and professional staff, delicious food and warm humid temperatures. We stayed for 12 days and were terribly sad to have to leave. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return again in a heartbeat!

Although the check in desk was conveniently located off the road, the check out location was a long distance from the road. And, we were not informed that we had to check out at this distant location in the hotel, and at 6 in the morning this was a bit of a problem for us and the staff.

Marigot bay was our final hotel in our St Lucia trip. The staff were very welcoming, provided us with a room upgrade and were very flexible on check in and check out times. At times we felt reception was a little slow but they were always keen and pleased to accomodate any requests that we had. We will definitely go back to this hotel. It is going through a refurbishment in 2014 but we thought that the standard was good as of now. Looking forward to seeing the improvements! Meeting the chef Victor was very nice and Natasha was superb!

excellent suites - living room with sofas, dining table and fully equipped kitchen + laundry room in middle, separate parents room to one side, separate children's to other marvellous bay side location, excellent relaxing views of bay marvellous staff - good food does not have a beach (swimming pools though) and lis built on a hillside so lots of stairs all in all, for us fabulous - highly recommend

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. This was only my second trip to the south and the first experience was definitely lacking in customer service. This experience was truly heavenly. Our room was amazing-we did get an unexpected upgrade which was nice. We booked a bay view despite the reviews we read and lucked out with a fantastic bay view and a great balcony from which to enjoy. We had 2 very minor issues - our air conditioner was not cooling very well night #1. A quick call to the front desk and they had someone at our door in 15 minutes at 10 pm and it was fixed next am. Our door lock was a bit finicky and it was fixed ASA. The housekeeping was topnotch. The pools and spa facilities, reception, Hurricane Hole and Boudreau room were all very well-maintained. The staff were unbelievable attentive and friendly throughout the hotel and made the stay. We really enjoyed the food. The gym could have used better equipment but was adequate. We were a bit antsyafter 9 days in the Bay-we are not great at lounging. We wished arranged ahead for more days of car rental. Reviews on-line about the driving had made us reluctant,but it wasn't bad-you had to be cautious and drive slowly. The local beach wasn't the best, but we knew that going into it. So we did spend a few days and a few dollars getting rides in water taxis enabling us to see more of the Island. We also expected there would be more of a local market with local shops and eateries but there were not too many closeby.

We stayed at Discovery in Jan- Feb 2013 and really enjoyed the hotel. We asked for a quiet room and got it (but then occupancy rates were very low). Its best asset is its fantastic professional, friendly, supportive staff albeit some of the furniture is tired. It’s situated on a mangrove swamp, so pack mozzie repellent (citronella spray provided in the rooms) & fly spray (screens on the rooms are ripped in places). We were told the menu at the Hurricane Hole and Boudreau Restaurant changes regularly but we saw no evidence of it doing so. Service at the café was slow – but the food at all these was good and tasty. Excellent swimming pools and gardens. Good choice of eateries nearby if you want to go out. Would we choose this hotel again? Without hesitation!

The hotel was very good in a lovely setting but we needed to hire a car get to other parts of the island to do what we wanted to do i.e. bird watching. The hotel has just been sold so it may change under the new owners.

The bedrooms are excellent and the food is first class but the location is remote, there is liitle view of the Bay frm the bedrooms and the Beach is a tiny strip of land with very poor facilities.

Excellent holiday at Discovery at Marigot Bay. We took our 5 month old baby and couldn't have been made more welcome. We went in the off-season so the hotel was very quiet and peaceful, which suited us perfectly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and romantic holiday.

Hôtel très agréable, très propre, avec un personnel charmant. Cadre magnifique et reposant .Bien situé pour une visite complète de l'ile en voiture. We loved everything about it- even though there was a couple of things that were disappointing.. don't know if it was because of the renovating and transforming to Capella from Discovery Marigot,but the staff was sometimes a bit asleep so to say. We got wrong bills , ordered things like coffee while eating lunch and it never came.. All in all it didn't have that much influence to our holiday,staff was so nice and polite,each and every one of them. Tv in the room was bad,obviously it was reported to staff several times before,but they could not do anything since all the rooms were gonna be fixed one by one. All inclusive in this hotel was great and well recommended,but i would've wish for a better instructions while checking in, from the restaurants as well as all the services the hotel offered...

Nous avons été très bien acceuilli. Le cadre est magnifique et reposant, avec une super vue sur la baie. Il n'y a pas de plage mais les piscines de l'hôtel étaient géniales. Le petit déjeuner ètait copieux et bon! Nous conseillons cet hôtel pour tous ceux qui veulent un séjour sans stress et dans un magnifique cadre. Nous y retournerons!!!

I've been to Marigot Bay quite a few times now, and with the recent reno's at the Capella Resort, was delighted to see all the changes. It's stunning. My favorite spot was the Rum Cave! Glenn Sorensen has done a remarkable job. We enjoyed Rum Tasting, Glenn was brilliant. I even got to make my own spiced rum :) Glenn is very particular, and believes in 100% customer service. The new menu was amazing; I was fortunate to try several menu items.... all fantastic. Glenn gave me a tour of the property, and it is stunning. Next trip I hope to stay. Can't wait to go back to see them again. MJ

From the minute you arrive and are greeted at the airport with special treats and a warm and friendly smile, you know you are in for a very memorable holiday of the highest caliber. The staff is incredible and the rooms very spacious and beautiful. The grounds and the views are spectacular and as a true foodie, the meals are sublime.. Gideon at the Raw Bar makes everyone feel very special at his pool side venue. It is a pleasure to observe how he wields the knife over the sushi - his preparations are a feast for the eyes and beyond delicious. Waitstaff in the The Grill at 14*61 are attentive to every detail, and our favorite server with a beautiful smile was Kristina. Spa treatments were excellent and the whole time spent at Capella was truly memorable. Capella at Marigot Bay is a top notch addition on the beautiful Island of St. Lucia featuring their philosophy of genuine, caring hospitality delivered by your "personal assistant". Superb accommodations, restaurants and excellent customer service attitude. This resort really aims to please and is a quality experience. Looking out over the superyachts, hiking nearby, tours and boat trips, or just chilling by the two scenic pool decks with views, you can have the experience you want with the right amount of down time and privacy. We stayed at Capella at Marigot Bay. I highly recommend it. The hotel is a first class experience and a perfect complement to a beautiful bay. The room we had was a suite with a modern kitchenette, comfortable fold out sofa bed, and separate bedroom with a very comfortable canopied bed. The bathroom was large and well appointed. It also had a laundry room. The service was impeccable from initial arrival through checkout. We were greeted with a spiced tea, rum or virgin. Check-in included a sample bottle of Chairman's Rum. The refrigerator was stocked with sodas and water and replenished daily; the tea and coffee selections were great; each afternoon the maid had set out plaintain chips and corn salsa and a couple of Piton beers; the night time turn down service included cookies. There are several buildings along the hillside that house the first-class rooms and most provide great views of the bay, harbor, and yachts docked there. The buildings and grounds are well-maintained and manicured. It is very relaxing to sit on the balcony and savor the quiet views and ambiance of the bay. There are two nice pools and a beautiful multiple level complex with a couple of restaurants and a rum cave. The fitness room was nice and the concierge service in the library was available. Across the bay there is a small sand beach, with palm trees. On the beach is Doolittle's Restaurant and Bar. You can access both with a free shuttle for Doolittle's customers or a frequent $2 water taxi. The distance across the bay is pretty short. There are a couple of other restaurants in the bay that are good also. To find the bay, there is not very good signage as you come south from Castries. When you get down the windy hill into the flats, there is a faded sign that points right, up a steep hill with a pot hole filled road. That is the turnoff. Believe it. If you continue, you will see a lot of vendor stands along the road. Turn around and go back and make the left turn heading north. As you get to the top, there is a Great View Cafe. It is a great view. If you go right and down the hill, you will come to a small restaurant at the interior of the bay. To get to Capella's or the marina village, bear left up the pot hole filled road. As you go back down that road Capella's will be on the right. If you are driving there from Henowarra Airport, take the Castries route to get there. The road from Soufriere is much worse, windy and pot holed, and takes much longer to go through Soufriere than to go toward Castries. If you take a taxi, enjoy the ride.

First class experience and beyond at both the Capella Marigot Bay Marina and Resort!! Let me start with the marina because we have just finished our around-the-world sailing adventure and have had our boat in the marina for a two week stay. Wonderfully cheerful and extremely helpful, Darien, was immediately out in a dinghy to lead us into the marina bay and assist with docking. Also terrifically cheerful and helpful with boats in the marina is Chetty. The Marina Manager, Guillaume, was very attentive and personable as well. Everyone really went the extra mile. We feel so lucky to have stayed here. This is the best marina service we have ever had!! The Resort, Grill & Rum Cave Restaurants and Spa are also exceptional. As a marina guest you have access to the resort and services with a charming small boat lagoon, which is wonderful. First, we had an excellent buffet breakfast (where we first met the gracious hostess, Alona) at the Grill which overlooks the marina bay and super yachts. Then, the concierge booked an excellent all-day island tour for us with a great driver. We also tried the Rum Cave Restaurant for lunch & the special dessert, "chocolate experience, for two". Cassandra, was our especially friendly and helpful server and Glen, the Food & Beverage Manager stopped by our table to check on us. We also enjoyed several delightful dinners at the Grill. From scallops to steaks, our food was beautifully prepared and presented and our server, Rolstand, was so attentive. Now, to describe the absolutely perfect treatment I received at the Auriga Spa. I met with the phenomenal, Georgina, for a hair cut & highlights. At my 66 years of age, it was simply the best haircut & color treatment I ever experienced. Not easy to accomplish for me. Next, the incredible, Edma, gave me the most luxurious facial, massage and pedicure of my life! What beautiful and gracious women. Our time here at the Cappella was like no other in the world. We will be back whenever we can!

Beautiful accommodation, two lovely pools and helpful staff make this hotel is a great place to get away from it all. We particularly liked the asian lunch boxes which are excellent value although they take a while to arrive (but worth the wait). Jose at the pool is a dead ringer for Eddie Murphy (doing the voice of the Donkey in Shrek) and just as fun. Plus we had a jacuzzi on our balcony which was set to the side and overlooked the rain forest. We discovered Yoga and Pilates were offered free every morning and the Gymn is good. Marigot Bay is authentic and not a place to entertain lots of children for long but that was not why we went there. Check out Shashamane Water Taxi trips which enables you to have the authentic St Lucia experience which is perfectly matched with the 5 star feel of the Capella hotel. We loved the contrast. Get fresh bread from Bayside and have a curry at Masalan and a romantic meal at Rainforest restaurant and a beer at Roots. Steaks good in the grill and the chef is quality. Beds are super comfortable and have lovely pillows and full mosquito nets. Air Con and fans. Only recommendation is that our personal assisitant always said 'what do you want to know' we say we dont know what we dont know.....so be more open e.g. no one told us there was an Easter Sunday best of 6 buffet....so we did not partake. There is a slight noise issue with air con/extractor unit from the kitchen/reception unit which floats up to the balconies above - but this is being investigated we understand.

"The hotel in paradise"

This is the most gorgeous hotel i've ever been in. The staff are absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Although it has been almost a year since I last stayed here, I haven't found the website where I could write the review. En suite kitchen, Free laundry dryer + washer was absolutely the best. They really care about their customers. I would stay here again for a much longer time :)

We stayed in January. Wonderful service from Marcia, Brent and Pearl. They could not have been more accommodating. We went for a birthday celebration and they made our stay memorable. We highly recommend this resort. The plunge pool was very nice.

We had a suite 1001 with. Nice view of the property. The staff could not be more friendly and accommodating and the food was good. Room was uge, full kitchen which was handy. Great spam nd nice workout facility there isn't a lot to do in the area.

This resort is AMAZING! The grounds are well maintained and the setting idyllic. The rooms are clean and modern with comfortable beds. They bring you chips/salsa and piton beers for a snack late pm and then cookies or chocolates at turn down. As others have said, the staff is generally top notch in terms of friendliness and service. The bartender at the cave bar was great at mixing drinks and keeping up conversation. Most would leave their post without hesitation to direct/take you somewhere. Interestingly the personal assistant at the library was actually the least helpful of all..she would answer questions simply but never offer suggestions. We actually went over to oasis resort and booked a sailboat trip with their concierge office ourselves as ours was not offering up any good advice. My bad taste comes with checkout. We had arranged via e-mail before the trip to have transport to and from airport. Pick up from airport was perfectly fine with a luxury ride. Morning of departure we confirmed with assistant in library and told pick up was at noon...of course nothing was ready and we were put in a nearby taxi. The taxi driver was called by Capella 10 minutes into the drive and told we would pay him directly. I of course had already paid them at checkout. This was somewhat infuriating & I know I was not the only person having problems with the transport that day. My advice would be to arrange the car service FROM the airport but go to the taxi service around the corner and arrange transport back....it will certainly be cheaper (70 us dollars) and less of a hassle. They were not organized. Still overall, it was a superb resort! Would go back in a second
