"On the way to Yosemite."
07/09/14 Kolimpia London, United Kingdom
We stayed here on 11 June 2014 in room 109. The cost was $132 inc tax and a continental breakfast. Check in was good, and the people friendly. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable with air conditioning. For breakfast, you had to go to the reception area to collect and take back to your room. Wash room facilities were fine, and we had no complaint. For our evening meal, we went to Pops family restaurant just across the car park of the Lodge, which was recommended by them. The restaurant was excellent. We thought that the charge was a little high, but appreciated that the town was just before Yosemite.

The hotel served its purpose of providing accommodation out of Yosemite (although it could be closer). It was clean and comfortable and the welcome we received was excellent - the people were very friendly and accommodating. The only downside was the pool was not operational and the days were over 100 degrees.

Thankfully we were only booked at this room for one night during our 10 day vacation. It was awful and all we could do to stay that one night! The place was absolutely filthy! Dead bugs all over both window sills, moldy/nasty shower curtain & tub faucet. The tile entry floor had obviously not been swept nor mopped in quite a while. The coffee maker was dirty/unwashed. Our room was also infested with other spiders/bugs. I did complain and the Manager (she was nice) and did take $19 from our bill. She blamed the bug problem on 'being in the mountains' but filth is filth regardless of the locale. The room was WAY over priced at $119 to begin with. $60-70 range would be more appropriate. We were up & out of there at first day break. I can honestly say I would camp out before I stayed at this place again!
"Better than expected"

Stayed at Oakhurst Lodge 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised, rooms were nicer than I expected for the price. No issues with the plumbing as previously described. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We tend to like to take the chance with the older style Motor Court motels because they can be a better value and this one did not disappoint. Just be prepared for the gate in the middle of the parking lot that surrounds the building that burned down last year.
"Needs more remodeling, old hotel"
06/05/14 Luv2gohike Springfield, Missouri
I wasn't happy when we pulled up. It looks like an old 60's hotel and when we walked inside it was. Sure, they have remodeled, they put in new carpet and new bedding but the old mattresses and the old vanities were just awful. My back hurt for 2 nights, tossing & turning on the old beds they have. The Wifi didn't work the whole 2 days we were there. We had spiders too. We killed about 5 in the 2 days we stayed there. You could see daylight through the cracks around the door so we knew how the spiders got in. There weren't any black out drapes on the windows do we were up by 6 am every morning from the daylight. The only good thing was that it was a short drive to the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park but otherwise I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
"Excellent base for visiting Yosemite"

Good value motel, room was large and spacious, bed was comfortable and everything was clean and in good condition. Only one complaint was that the hot water was erratic. It got warm enough to step into the shower, whereupon it instantly went cold again - not a pleasant experience. The breakfast was good with a choice of items on offer, including fruit juice and coffee. Would definitely stay again.

I was a bit skeptical about staying at the Oakhurst Lodge when we drove up - first of all, it's NOT A LODGE. Looked a bit like a crummy motel. BUT, after seeing my room (room 14 has a higher-than-normal ceiling with ceiling fan), was pleasantly surprised. OK, it wasn't the most glamorous of accomodations, but the bed was very comfortable, pillows were just right, and the shower was just right. The only things I would mention in the negative are: the shampoo sucks - smells like dog shampoo: I couldn't find another blanket - usually there is one stuck in the tv armoire or in a dresser drawer. We also had a Continental Bkfst.
"Shower not Working"

On my way to Yosemite I arrived late at night, Everything seemed fine until I got into the Shower. The Water was only dripping from the faucet. So in order to wash myself I had to scoop the Water from the faucet with both Hands over my body. After a long day driving all Day I was not in a mood at 10 pm at night to address the issue with the Management. Obviously this is not an issue that happened recently, which was confirmed as I talked to Lodge Staff the next Morning. I was told that they just went trough renovation but are having plumbing problems. Since this has been known for some time I don't understand why they even would make the room available for the Public? I had left the morning Manager on Duty with my comment and complain form, however till today nobody has gotten back to me or offered a refund as I would think is appropriate in the hospitality Industry. The morning Cashier only adjusted my Bill by a few Dollars as she did not have Authority to do so. I understand the Lodge is in process of beig sold so there is likely little interest from the current Owners to take care of the issue. This was my worst experience at an Hotel ever, Oakhurst Lodge did a good job Leaving memories lasting a lifetime. Hopefully the new Owners are willing to take care of the problem.
"Besser als gedacht"

Unterkunft im Motel-Style, aber sehr sauber und geräumig. Kann uneingeschränkt weiter empfohlen werden. Punktabzug wegen Lautstärke und Baustelle. Preise kurz vorm Yosemite Nationalpark sind natürlich etwas höher. CanAmera.de
"Мотель в 30 км от въезда в парк Йосемити"
05/22/14 Fedor120396 Moscow, Russia
