"Clean and comfortable"
I'm very familiar with the Hotel Mead because I used to live in Wisconsin Rapids. The hotel's employees are very courteous, and the hotel is quiet and well-maintained. The decor and TVs are a bit dated at this point, but everything is in good condition and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The outside needs attention. The parking lot surface needs redoing. The planters at the front door need flowers or plants and the grass around the parking lot needs cutting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
T he Hotel Mead made it easy to get around town. Close to the river-walks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was top shelf as far as I am concerned and was great for the cost. Staff was friendly and helpful and the pool was nice and clean as well as the rooms. I would recommend for sure.Genuine Expedia guest review

Stayed at the Hotel Mead while in Wisconsin Rapids for a figure skating competition. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean room with all the expected amenities plus refrigerator and microwave. Easy check in and check out.
"Great place to stay!"

For decades, I have been putting up business and personal guests at the Hotel Mead. It is a great place to stay or to have your next conference. There is one restaurant and one bar in the hotel. Ample parking. Nice pool. All accommodations one would expect.
"Very Nice Hotel with Bar/Restaurant on Site at Affordable Rates"

I last stayed at the Mead 12 years ago and I would have to say it's as nice now as it was then. From what I recall I believe they have also reduced room rates since then as well. When I first went to book rooms it came up $170 and I figured that was per room and wasn't shocked based on past experience, however after looking again that was for 2 rooms. After looking at the other hotels in town, that's right on par with the others and the Mead is as good or better than anything else I've seen in town. Plus you get the bonus of dining and a bar on site. Our room was very nice and clean, with a flat screen TV. Bed's were a little firm but I slept well so no problems there. The lobby and common areas are very upscale and nice as well. Service at the front desk was fine, We stopped in the bar for a night cap and it wasn't busy but the bartender was friendly and they had a decent selection of beers on tap and they were reasonably priced. I'd never been in the bar before and it was very nice and also upscale. We had a double room, and my brother had a king 2 room suite that was only $10 more. The hotel provided him a crib and he was very happy with his room as well. My daughter loved the pool, but was disappointed that the hot tub was not hot. Must have been down for service or something. We decided to have the Sunday brunch before checking out. After getting my first plate I was not happy to find that the belgiun waffles and omelet station promised on the sign were no where to be found, however after inquiring with the waitress she said we could order those from her. The food that was on the buffet was very good, but leaned more towards lunch fair than breakfast. Just french toast and sausage for breakfast fare, but we got the waffle and omelet we ordered and both were good so no harm no foul. Service was a bit on the slow side, but we got in and out in an hour so all in all we were satisfied. My brother got room service breakfast which had a better selection of breakfast items and both the food and the prices were very good he said, so we'll probably try that next time. We will definitely stay again next time we are in town visiting family.
"Reastaunt staff could b more efficient. My tray sat out the door all night"
Overall my room was wonferful the House keepers were pleasant, room was comfy and clean. Clean & accommodating but what wrong with the kitchen.seems u have a wonderful menu just lazy, lax staff u fail there! Time for your kitchen golf to buck up. There was a young lady Jodi waiting on us, lovely girl but was obvious she was being streard in the wrong dirrection by her trainer..I grew up in the bix, what happened to team work?

Only stayed one night as I was in town for business. I had wanted to stay here in the past as it seemed like it would be the nicest property in the area but it was booked (State Cross Country Meet). The lobby area was inviting with Christmas decorations and the gas fireplace going. Staff was pleasant. I was with two others and we ate dinner in the bar. All had soup and sandwiches which were good. Room was comfortable as well. First night in a hotel bed usually isn't the best for me but I slept really well. Would definitely go back.
"Reasonable place to stay at Wisconsin Rapids"

For the price the hotel is a bargain. It was once perhaps a luxurious place to stay but today you get a nice big room and dining on premises. Breakfast was not free, but you can order something for a very reasonable price. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and I would happily stay here again. The food in the restaurant is acceptable, but not exciting.
"Nice hotel at a fair price"

I have stayed at the Hotel Mead several times over the last few months. I have found the rooms clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff has been kind and helpful. They have a nice sports bar to relax in after a long day. The only complaint I would have about this place is checking in and out can take a painfully long time due to the fact the people behind the desk have to take phone calls for reservations and deal with walk ups at the same time.

Found this place on YELP. . Called them directly for a great price. First room, the A/C didn't work, so Scott got us another room right down the hall. Second room had not been dusted! Top of TV cabinet, headboards, lamps, and there was this weird film, like a baked in gunk on the mirror in the bathroom. Also, the water temperature in the shower was lukewarm. It never got much more than about 85°. Pool was a little cold.. that should be around 88°. Hot tub was very nice. .. But there was this planter box that was old & moldy looking, across from the hot tub. Gross!! Restaurant. . Cafe Mulino, was good. I had the pan fried wall eye, and my husband had the 12 oz. Rib eye. I thought his steak tasted like the one you used to get from Ponderosa, but he liked it. Wild rice was undercooked. Great cheesecake. Had breakfast on Monday morning. . Eggs Benedict were overcooked by 30 seconds, which means the poached eggs were not runny & oozing when I cut into them.(poached eggs should be no more than 3 minutes). There's plenty of room to improve, but it was OK..
"An average night"
I received a free night at this hotel from Ho-Chunk casino. I bought my mom up this way so we could see her sister, and to do some gambling. I arrived at the hotel around 9 P.M. Parking wasn't a problem, and we proceeded to the front to check in. At the main entrance, several people were outside smoking, from, what appeared to be a wedding party going on inside. I ended up having to walk through smoke when I came in the building because they were all standing right in front of the door, and not off to the side. I see the front counter, and I check in without a problem. As we are headed to our room, we notice that the pool is closed for maintenance. I was disappointed when I saw that, as I was looking forward to going for swim, after a long day. We get off the elevator, see the ice machine, and that our room isn't far away. We open the door to our room, and the lights were off, but I was able to find a light switch with ease as I entered. The room was clean, the beds were made, but it was a little stuffy in the room. I turned the air conditioning on from the wall mounted thermostat. There wasn't much air pressure, but the air was cold. We then noticed a refrigerator, that wasn't supposed to be in the room, only to discover that they gave us the wrong room. We were supposed to have two queen beds with no refrigerator, but instead they gave us two double beds with the fridge. I wanted to work out, so I took the elevator down to the pool and fitness area. The elevator showed that the fitness center and pool were on the lower level. I get off the elevator, and it felt like I was in a dungeon. The pool was locked, and there was a maintenance area in the small, dark, hallway. I went up to the lobby to ask how to get to the fitness area. I had to take a difference set of elevators down to the other side. The fitness center was typical for any hotel fitness center. I tried three of the cardio machines. A stair climbing device didn't want to work right. I then tried one of the ski like machines and it felt rickety, and cheap. I finally get on a third machine, another ski machine. I got a good cardio workout on the machine. Towels were provided. There were also two restrooms and a drinking fountain. There were two other lifting machines, along with some small dumbbells. I came up stairs back to my room, ready to take a shower. I turn the shower on, and the head on top leaked a little, causing it to look a little strange. The water pressure was fine. With the water all the way on hot, it was slightly below room temperature. It only got colder during my shower. We watched a movie, and then went to bed. The bed was a little hard but I prefer a softer bed. I had four pillows to use. Most of the pillows balled up, and one was flat. I didn't sleep too bad, just felt a little stiff when waking up. In the morning we both took a shower, and after the second shower, the water was still nice and hot. I was able to make coffee in the room, and it wasn't too bad. All in all it wasn't too bad, but I've been in places that were better.
