Entire stay was excellent. From Disney Magical Express ride from airport, check in, children activities, friendly staff, restaurants. ..all top notch.Genuine Expedia guest review
Check out Jiko- amazing food! Great views. Friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful views of the animals; hotel is beautiful; however, we needed to have a late checkout since our flight didn't leave until 6:45 & they didn't let us have it. This was very inconvenient especially with kids!Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent! We had a room with a safari view. It was so great to see how well the animals were cared for and how content they seemed to be in their environment. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Great food. Great scenery. Great atmosphere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We ate at the pool area after getting food from Mara. The flies were terrible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Greatest hotel for kids."

"Animal Kingdom Lodge"
Loved the view & balcony...Aruscha view...giraffe, "pumbas", zebras, Great pool area, public areas Disney transportation on bus from Animal Kingdom is slow Gift shop is not anything special. There must be better shopping elsewhere.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel but restaurant prices very high"
Great location and nice activities for the children. However, $100 for three for dinner was over the top.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in a great location"
Staying in one of the Disney resorts is definitely the way to go. This one provides a unique opportunity to see all kinds of animals right from your balcony. The views, along with fast and easy transportation to and from all of the parks, make this hotel worth the expense. We loved it!Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice hotel...BUT no longer worth the $$$"
Hotel is beautiful inside...food was delicious...staff very accommodating. I have stayed in Disney Resorts before-they are extremely expensive-I knew that already..but I had always been willing to pay the price for one reason, and one reason only: You could Fast Pass most of the rides which increased my family's enjoyment of the park exponentially. […] Now you have to arrange Fast Pass rides online...and only 3 Fast Pass rides in ONE park in one day-I had the Park Hopper Pass so I was in all 4 Parks. The staff will tell you you can Fast Pass more rides inside the park-BUT- not until the time has elapsed for your last Fast Pass... Personally, I will no longer stay at Disney Resorts as there is no longer any benefit in doing so. Instead of paying the $400/night to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge I will stay outside Disney-pay $109 for a very nice hotel with free hot breakfast-take the free shuttle to Disney that most hotels now offer and save myself $300/night. I am sad to say goodbye to Disney Resorts but in this economy my money can be better spent elsewhere. I can no longer justify the expense with the changes in Fast Pass. "Great hotel on Disney property"
We had a great stay. The staff was nice to talked to and answered all our questions. The room was clean and my soon loved the towel animals the house keeping created when they cleaned the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Watch your knees when sit on the pot"
It's a Disney Resort property so you expect it to be over the top, first class, and expensive. Is it over the top...in some respects yes, there are wonderful, "authentic" decorations everywhere, African game animals right outside the resort, and lots of attention to little details. Is it first class...in some regards yes, but I will direct my comments […] to our pool view room - the room faced the pool for sure, but there was a jungle between us and the pool, the furnishings were too big for the room, thereby making the space feel small, the bathroom door just about clears the toilet, and there is very little light in the bathroom. The maid kept shorting us on glasses and towels...but other than these minor issues it is a great place to stay. Is it expensive? Depends when you go and how frugal you are. We ordered food in, bought water off property and ate out. If you eat in and dont have a plan, I hope you have deep pockets as it can get pricy quick. Remember there are places just off property that can feed you for far less. Best featuers IMHO, the Magic Bands and free parking at all the parks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Animal Kingdom Lodge was wonderful. A beautiful lobby area with amazing overlook areas to watch the animals meandering the grounds was magical. The knowledgeable staff from various countries within Africa were very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had room view of the savannah and it was amazing. The hotel itself is gorgeous and really gives you an African vibe. We will be staying here again in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Animal Kingdom- worth the costs"
I would return to this majestic facility. It is beautifully done with the African- inspired theme and lodge is welcoming and warm like the Grand Californian. We liked our pool view room because of it's close proximity to the lobby. And viewing the animals was easy to do right off of the lobby and while looking through the hallway windows. The dinner […] buffet is a must with the diverse foods of the culture in an attractive setting. Rooms are beautiful, but bathroom has little shelving and counter space. Also very limited drawer space. The spa provided a nice massage but the bathroom/ shower was not well maintained- even difficult to find drinking water other than a drinking fountain in the middle of the workout equipment. Pool is very kid friendly- not so much for adult use. Busses to other parks were easy to use and frequent departures. Overall an above-average experience and I would stay there again. "Great hotel for young kids"
Super thrilling for young children seeing the animals run wild next to your room!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful and magical Disney hotel"
I booked this as the second half of my daughter and I's Disney trip. First part was Art of Animation. This hotel was booked for my part of the trip, the more relaxing half. We enjoyed having the animals outside our room. I highly recommend it! Watching zebra's, giraffe's, cattle and birds outside our room was just simply amazing. I said it was magical. […] I wanted to have a different experience at a hotel and this was it. The place smells heavenly and was very clean. We ate at BOMA too and enjoyed it. I did leave some expensive sunglasses on the bench by the bus at our resort and they were not returned, but no surprise there. The buses were not as full as the Art of Animation which was a huge plus! There were always seats available. They did not run as fast as the ones at the Art of Animation, but I really liked sitting down after a long day at the parks. I highly recommend this hotel. I did my first part of the trip at Aof A with 3 meals a day and did all of the wonderful character dining from Sunday -Thursday. That left any left over meals still available to use on that Thursday before midnight. Then on Friday-Monday, I did not purchase a dining plan and it was more relaxed as we did not have to be at character events in the morning and evening. By doing this, it allowed me to stay in a nicer place at the end of the trip. My daughter and I are light eaters anyway. We only got the 3 meals per day in the beginning b/c we had so many character breakfasts/dinners. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We booked this extra night because we just did not want to check out...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at The Grand Floridian, Boardwalk and the Villas at the Boardwalk. The Animal Kingdom Lodge was, by far, my favorite! The hotel was beautiful - from the drive in, to the lobby ( magnificent!) to the room. The setting was lovely, the staff helpful, friendly and extremely polite, the room immaculate and very comfortable and everything ran […] smoothly and as it should! We stayed in a Savannah room and were thrilled watching the animals outside of our balcony. We had giraffes, zebras, assorted hoofed creatures, a myriad of birds, wildebeest etc. The animals were beautifully cared for and the setting natural and restful. We took advantage of some of the special opportunities offered in the Animal Kingdom, such as the Wild Africa Trek and the Night Safari. They were expensive, but well worth the money! And a healthy percentage of the fees go directly into the Disney Conservation Fund which, as my research showed, gives funding to many of the very important conservation efforts going on around the world. I particularly recommend the Wild Africa Trek. You will see many of the animals at much closer range than would otherwise be possible - and talk with research specialists who are involved in the preservation of many of these threatened species. The Animal Kingdom Lodge also provided a number of restaurants. We ate at two of the nicer ones and had wonderful African inspired food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No good to see animals"
We hardly see the animals from our room. It's not worth to stay for seeing animals.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was always clean, and my family and I loved the view and all of the animals that were there. I was able to wash my clothes there as well which is great and I even used the workout room and got a quick workout in my vacation. Overall the stay was great!Genuine Expedia guest review

Very nice to see African animals right off your porch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great view of giraffes, wildebeast and ostriches"
Overall a very good experience. The hotel decor is fantastic and they have lots of themed activities. The food is excellent - great for the adventurous as you can try all sorts of African cuisine. As the title indicates, many of the rooms look out over a corral filled with African wildlife. The buses run every 20 minutes to all the Disney properties […] and are much more convenient than driving, parking, taking a tram, then the monorail to get to the Magic Kingdom (for example). "Vey little wrong here!"
A truly great hotel/experience and the only areas worthy of a negative comment are the bathroom was tiny (std room) and dining in was expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Long Walk to room"
Hotel is okay, rooms are small, bathroom is small. We had to walk forever to get to the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was so amazing, I wish we could have stayed longer. The whole African inspired theme was just great, from the decorations to the restaurants and food to the employees. We really had an amazing time, I think my husband enjoyed the animals more than the kids. We highly recommend this hotel and hope to return again soon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Absolutely fantastic! Top notch, disney does not miss a beat!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge"
We were met at the bus and upon checking in we were shown how to link everything with the Disney app. Both of our kids were given big bags of candy for Easter. All in all, it was first class.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, but not great hotel for the price."
We had two room for four days. Rooms are small and lack many amenities (robes and slippers) you would expect for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The hotel was wonderful"
The tickets for the disney attractions where upsetting. The first day they could not find our purchased tickets in the system. They gave us a complemnetary ticket but that affected our seeing attractions. We had to deal with this for two days and it was very upsetting for the amount of money I had spent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Felt like I was in Africa."
Watching the animals from my balcony was wonderful. Walking around the hotel was amazing. Really enjoyed the African food on the breakfast buffet.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was excellent overall. We were a little disappointed by the lack of various animals we were able to see from our balcony, but we also were not there a lot of time. We were not impressed by the prices of food, but it is a Disney hotel, and we were able to order Domino's. The room service food just did not sound good to us and was pricey. Other […] food services had closed by 11 pm, we are just night owls. Staff was always excellent. Room was clean, a little smaller than we had expected, but was okay. Pool and jacuzzi were awesome, lots of room for everyone and the hours it was open was very accomodating. Pool also has a small waterslide that the kids highly enjoyed, and the life guards were very attentive. They also have life vests available for the smaller, non swimmers, we were very happy about that. Would recommend the hotel to everyone, but would suggest for the money that you are spending to plan to be able to spend some time at the hotel to be able to actually enjoy it. "Hands down, best Disney hotel!"
This is our second return visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge with my family. The kids love the Animal Kingdom Lodge so much that they wouldn't even go to Disney if we could not stay here! There is something for every member of our family to do at the hotel, from African drumming and watching the giraffes from the balcony of the room to roasting marshmellows […] at the campfire at sunset, not to mention that the three hotel restaurants are excellent! Worth every penny! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Felt like home"
This was the perfect spot for our Disney vacation. The theme was unique and fun. Great food choices. All the amenities you could need. The kids had a lot of options and we felt safe letting them have a little freedom. It felt like home each time we returned from a day in the park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My experience with the hotel exceeded my expectations. They allowed my family and I to check in early and when I asked about if any upgrades were available, they bumped me up to the Savanah view room. My family and I couldn't have been more pleased with the staff and the experience the Animal Kingdom Lodge had to offer.Genuine Expedia guest review

I saw my grandchildren for the first time in 2 years. We all had a great time. Your rooms and service were excellent. The dining room the same. Only glitch.....we took our granddaughter,8,she didn't get a wrist band, which created problems at the time......when renting Disney prop you should ask how many children.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There're some animals at Animal Kingdom. I can relax while watching the animals from the veranda. The food at the hotel's deli and restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed some African wine. The quality of the service was great. The crew members were very friendly to us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great experience! 2 yr old loved it. Only issue was expedia booked us for a King size bed in our room and the hotel put us in a queen with a bunk bed. Other then that, it was a good stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
