"close to all must-see sights, great value!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
When I booked this hotel, I didn't expect a whole lot from this hotel because it was so cheap. But after staying there for the entirety of my trip, I have to say that it was the best value for my buck. The hotel is conveniently located in District 1 right next to Binh Thanh Market. It's location makes it convenient to walk to all the tourist sites such as he War Museum and the Reunification center. The service was great and I would defiitely stay there the next time I go.
"Would try them again, but need some improvements."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Rooms are very nice and roomy, and good location. They could improve on their service and maintenance. The phone did not work in my colleague's room which was inconvenient for wake up calls, etc. My room had the vanity light burned out. Also, had trouble with my key card and they were very slow in responding. Breakfast was okay, but had much better at other hotel we stayed at earlier in our stay. I do like their rooms so would probably give them another chance and hope that the service/maintenance issues were a one time thing.
"Good hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
I like the hotel. Breakfast was good . Had some new dishes everyday. The hotel was convenient to all. Fleas market is only two blocks away . Good to by some souvenir t-shirts. Make sure you bargain, t-shirt average price is 90 dong. The foot massage was good. You can print your email at the business computer and pick it up at the receptionist desk. The only thing is that they could not scan my document but that is a lot to ask for. Overall, I like it and would stay here again.

"Central Location and Good Price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
It was a great value given the price and condition of the hotel. The hotel is quite small, but it is very clean. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. Very close to Ben Thanh Market, only a few blocks away.

"Great location"
I thought the hotel was great. I would suggest a cooler area for breakfast though!
"Classy, traditional hotel"
The hotel was a nice change from the big, modern hotels that cater for travel groups. Beautiful traditional decor. Both, the roof top restaurant and the breakfast restaurant, offer an excellent view of the river accross the street and the city. Live music at the lobby while you enjoy tea or drinks. In sum, great ambience.
"Hotel Majestic in Saigon"
Fabulous. Can see the Saigon River from the hotel. Great location, great hotel. Would stay there again.

"Majestic Saigon Hotel Magical"
This was the first time I have travelled to Vietnam solo, so my hotel experience would make or break my visit. Not only was I pleasantly surprised by the location on the river and within walking distance of so many sites in District 1, the charm of this colonial hotel and the ambience of its several rooftop restaurants overlooking the water ... but […] I enjoyed the best croissants at the sumptuous breakfast buffet this side of Paris! The spa was a delightful respite after a day touring the coutnryside. This hotel is a great value and I recommend it highly. Read more
"Classic Hotel"
This is a first class hotel. The classic style makes you think of Saigon back in the 20's. The rooms are huge, clean and full of modern amenities. The staff was very helpful and great. The breakfast on the roof terrace over looking the Saigon River was just amazing. It was a great start to the day. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The pool is small […] but it was a great place to get away from the crowed and noisy streets of Ho Chi Minh City. This hotel made my stay in Ho Chi Minh city are real pleasure. Read more

"Good older hotel"
An older hotel that has been updated over the years but will need to do more to compete with newer 5 star hotels. Excellent breakfast. We did not use the restaurants. Comfortable clean room with outstanding staff service. Good location but a bit noisey at times due to the intense traffic during rush hours.
"Classy"
This is a classy hotel in a great location. The breakfast is phenomenal and the rooms have great character. We stayed here two separate nights, bookending a bike trip to the Mekong. One night we were bumped up to a suite, which was gorgeous. The basic room was also great.
"Majestic has lost its Mojo"
Just has a dated feel and should create a more nostalgic theme with the long history of the hotel. It was very bland and it didn't feel so unique like a hotel of such history and character should have.
"This Hotel is great"
The Majestic Hotel in Siagon is a great hotel with great facilities and is in a great location. The hotel staff are pleasant and friendly, good breakfast also.
"Ok, not excellent"
This hotel was reasonable value for money. It's location was excellent. The breakfast was fine. The two beds joined together was problematic and made for an uncomfortable night's sleep - we spent 5 nights there. Our only complaint was the drivers we organised through the Spring Hotel didn't speak english, even though this was stipulated as a neccessity. […] We paid a premium rate for both drivers. The first driver was friendly and his vehicle was modern but as he didn't speak any english we didn't get to do the things we wanted to and had no commentry at all. The second driver had an old car, he spoke no english and was sullen and a careless driver. Altogether a difficult and at times scary 4 hour journey. Read more
We had a great stay with you and all our expectations were met.
"Well-located and very comfortable Majestic Saigon"
The Majestic is well-situated overlooking the river and within walking distance to most sights within the tourist part of the city. We had requested a large room to accommodate three adults, as we were traveling with our adult daughter, and the room we got was large and well appointed. The extra bed was more than just a folding cot, very comfortable. […] The décor was very nice, in keeping with the French-colonial air of the building. The bathroom was very large, with all the high-end extras. The rooftop terrace was lovely, overlooking the main riverside avenue and the river itself. A generous breakfast buffet was served there, including a wide array of fresh fruit, sushi (if you were so inclined), a large choice in meats, cheeses and side dishes, as well as bespoke eggs. An extensive dinner buffet was also served there with all the wine you could drink and your choice of individual steaks, shrimp or pork to be cooked to your taste on the grill – we enjoyed a good “splurge” meal there one night, although many very good, economical restaurants in walking distance. It was a wonderful place for before and/or after dinner drinks as well. The pool was nice and the gym was adequate, although the charge to use the sauna or steam room was excessive. Staff was friendly and efficient, though the concierge desk tended to push expensive tours, when it was much cheaper to negotiate flat fares with taxi drivers out front. For those without a laptop, there was a computer available for Internet access, although there was a charge. Overall, it was an extremely satisfactory hotel for a special indulgence. Read more

"Fantastic"
The Majestic Saigon was truly majestic. Yes it is an old hotel but it has kept its elegance to this day. Beautiful lobby, larger than normal room, very elegant bathroom. Breakfast at the 5th floor was very nice with a beautiful view of the river. Only negative comments I would have would be the size of the pool which is really more of an over-sized […] lap pool and can get pretty tight in the afternoon and the prices of their drinks...even for western standards, its robbery so better just go out for drinks. Service was excellent as expected. The location is perfect! Its right in front of the river and steps away from all the great shops, restaurants and historical sights (e.g opera house) of District 1. Overall great hotel! Read more
"Majestic Hotel"
Good Hotel, great service, good location; strong recommendation
"Great hotel & location"
Had a great stay in the Majestic.. the location is great - and right on the riverfront in district 1 and nearly everything was within walking distance (If not motorbike taxi about $1/2 away. Staff were great and they left us chocolates and a card in our room as it was our honeymoon! Definatley reccomend this hotel - has so much character about it and […] the breakfasts are amazing! "relaxed luxery on Majestic Saigon"
the hotel is close to the "pulse" of Saigon and also an oasis in a very caotic city. Our room was cooled and classy and likevise the poolarea and roof-top bars. The staff is highly professionel and very helpfull in regards to organizing trips etc, and never missed any opportunity to improve our visit. Higly recommendable.
Staff at Hotel Majestic Saigon pleasantly and non-aggressively service oriented.
We bought some vases and the conceige help us to pack the vase into boxes. Not professional though but can see that it is an effort work piece. Really appreciate their act
"Great Location"
A very nice hotel, and well located for most holiday maker needs. The hotel appears to be about to undertake some major renovations, so would suggest potential guests ensure their room position is suitable. Walking distance to most destinations, and some fabulous restaurants nearby. I personally enjoyed Lemongrass, and a little Frtench joint around […] the corner, whose name escapes me. A bit further afield, and at the top end of dining experiences and budgets are Nam Phan and Au Manoir de Khai.... treat yourself Read more
"Not a 5star hotel - don't go there!"
We spent altogether 4 nights in this hotel in the beginning of April 2012. And were quite disappointed. It's really not 5 star quality. Rooms are outdated and service so so. The only positive in this hotel was location near city center and the beauty of the building (outside). And breakfast...a bit unhygienic that e.g. cheeses and cold cuts are not […] in cold with 35C. Out of the 4 nights we managed to sleep properly only 2. During the 3rd night the airconditioning in our room broke down at 1am (it made terrible noise and no cold air was coming) so we had to go to other room in order to be able to sleep. Well, the next day they managed to fix it. Last night during our stay we woke up 7.30 am into terrible noise as there was some sort of construction going on in the hotel. Very nice!! And if you're planning to make any organized tours e.g. to Cu chi tunnels, don't book from hotel. Tours in the hotel are over twice more expensive than for instance in Saigon Tourist office. So go there! And hotel Spa didn't look too attractive either, go to My Spa instead! Read more
"Wonderful classic hotel"
Majestic is a beautifully classic hotel in style with high ceilings and traditional decor. The room and the bathroom are spacious with all the modern equipment you expect of a five star hotel. The stay was most enjoyable.
"majestic Hotel"
great location and friendly staff. Rooms were a good size and bed very comfortable. I didn't have much to complain about during my very brief stay, however I would say the rooms are a bit dated and in need of some attention.
"Disappointing - poor security"
Very disappointing; (1) hotel security is lax, booked a pool view suite with private balcony, first morning after showering at 8am found 3 members of the local public on my balcony, turns out there was a conference in the hotel and they just walked onto my balcony via fire escape (2) rooms and general hotel very tired and old, would say its a 3 star […] hotel not 5, carpet in hallays looks like hasnt been replaced since 60s (3) taxis the hotel uses exclusively (saigon tourism) are not reputable, it was the only time in Saigon a taxi had a corrupted meter and tried one over on me, why the hotel use them shows serious lack of judgement (4) currently under renovation with outdoor tiles being replaced and a lot of drilling, starts at 8am. Overall my most disappointing hotel and Asian city experience to date. Read more
"Majestic Hotel - Saigon"
We were so looking forward to staying at the Majestic as we had some fantastic recommendations but we were a little disappointed. Unfortunately, the room had quite a strong a damp smell and the floor looked as if it had experienced some water damage. The toilet dripped constantly and I am not one to complain so I expected the cleaning staff to report […] it. There are plans for huge extensions at the Majestic so perhaps this is why they are not attending to all maintenance issues. Read more
This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a nice, historical & charming place with comfort & luxury. The outdoor pool area is lovely - a well kept secret. The food is good but still quite expensive. The view from the top restaurant is giving you the right atmosphere of Saigon! Great location as well for shopping, walking along the river […] or even sightseeing! - Just one thing to be aware of was the busy street & an amazing traffic on one side of the hotel.. which makes it as a challenge to cross the street ! - but unfortunately all streets are like that in Saigon.. Just walk slowly, very slowly always going forward, never back and they will just avoid you .. Good luck! Read more
"Hotel Majestic Ho Chi Minh"
Everything worked very well. The room was more than nice. Breakfast was excellent, location best possible and the staff was polite and helpful. We really recommend this hotel.
"Excellent"
Hotel Majestic Saigon has perfect location and is close to all major attractions. Very nice hotel with old charm. Staff very helpful. Excellent breakfasts and free internet.
"Best hotel in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)"
Best hotel in Saigon...and we checked out the Continental, Caravelle, and other top rated hotels.
"Not the very best but pretty good"
For the price the Majestic has to be the best in town. There are better 5 star hotels in HCMC but this is a third of the price. Thoroughly recommended unless the pool is a must have - that's not 5 star at all but everything else is.
"Stunningly beautiful hotel, captures a bygone age"
Good location, not brilliant, just good. Hotel itself is magical. From the huge marbled and wood reception area to the magnificent bedrooms - all gorgeous. Courtyard pool is small with few loungers. Rooftop breakfast is delicious with a full selection including freshly prepared eggs to your choice. Not cheap - but worth it! Stay before they spoil […] it with a planned hideous re-development (2015) Read more
The hotel has a good location and is well appointed but the reception staff were not friendly. It is expensive and they wanted to charge extra for the jacuzzi. There are plenty of other good hotels that give you more for less.
"Colonial style in heart of Saigon"
We had an excellent stay in this well kept colonial hotel at the very heart of Saigon. Phenomenal roof top bar. Kind and attentive staff. Highly recommended!
"nice authentic experience"
perhaps not as stylish as the 'international' hotels but warm and charming and with a great location and super breakfast
hotel is a little loud but very nice and cozy. definitely above average standard for vietnam. on the first night they had an event upstairs which made it very loud but was over early. location is very good, surrounded by restaurants and shops. if i went for tourism, i would try to stay closer to the opera.
"A Hotel with Character"
This is a great hotel well situated in terms of access to the city centre and riverside. Plenty of character - you can imagine how it was in the days of French control of Vietnam - service was first class. Try out the roof top bar - it's just fantasticboth in terms of service and views over the river. Go at around 5:00 pm and watch the traffic below […] - chaotic, mad but works! Look out for Fleur - she's great if you want to know about the hotel or have a problem. We had a small issue with the room (which was more our fault than the hotel) but that was sorted out quickly by Hotel.com Read more
"Hotel Majestic - Ho Chi Minh City"
The Hotel Majestic is situated right on the river near the ferry. It is on a noisy street but the windows are well insulated. The room was very large with high ceilings and the decor matching a 30s style. The shower is in the bath with a step up to it which would not be convenient for everyone. The breakfast was good and the setting lovely, outside […] terrace overlooking the river. The swimming pool is very small but again having that óld style'feel located in the middle of the building gave it charm. This was our first visit to Vietnam so cannot compare it to other 5 star hotels. The staff were pleasant and helpful and there were always taxis on hand. Read more
"We will be back"
Having stayed at the Legend Hotel on our arrival in Vietnam for 4 nights we decided to give the Majestic a go on the way home for just one night. neither hotel disappointed but the Legend was more of a business and newer establishment. the Majestic is A truly beautiful hotel with friendly helpful and attentive staff.they allowed us to check out late […] and the pool area was set up to allow a last minute swim, shower and even clothes dryer before heading to the airport later in the afternoon. the rooftop bar is a bit pricey biut its what you expect for the view. great location, stylish & elegant - we will be back. Only hint is that room 409 was under the breakfast room so a bit of clunking early in the morning but not a big issue considering we were there for one night and all the extras they provided. great value. "hotel majestic saigon"
Lovely hotel exterior but the room is a little small. Overall it was an enjoyable stay. The staff went out of their way to help us in every way, including of finding us a very good french restaurant, Le Bordeaux. Location is lovely and convenient. Would definitely stay there again :)
"Hotel Majestic Saigon"
My wife and I have just returned from our second visit to the Hotel Majestic Saigon this year and were a little disappointed with this second visit. We had previously stayed in the older part of the hotel without street or river views compared to the Saigon River with balcony suite for this visit. We believe that the newer rooms overlooking the river […] are not worth the extra $'s and are not authentic or comfortable as the original rooms in the older part of the hotel. The reception staff were not very friendly or helpful and did not even bother to wish us well when we checked out. I would not stay at the hotel again even though it is in a good location and has a great bar on the 8th floor overlooking the river. Read more
"great location"
good value for money.
"The Majestic in HCMC - great location but noisy"
Overall a great hotel. The only drawback is the noise level in the rooms. It is located at a major street next to the river and the honking motorbikes make sleeping a little difficult. Everything else - comfort, service, etc. - was great. A special bonus is the breakfast area on the rooftop. This is certainly one of the nicest breakfast areas in luxury […] hotels I have visited so far. Read more
Beautiful hotel, good location with nice river view. I stayed there for 4 nights and looked forward to returning to my room after each day's activities. The breadkfast spread was good but after a few morning of the same spread, I wished for some changes to the menu. The door men doesn't seemed too happy with their jobs. Hardly a smile and even showed […] annoyance when I returned an umbrella to them. It's a shame as they are usually the first personnel that guests will meet at the hotel. Apart from the nit picking, I enjoyed my stay. Read more
"luxury in Saigon"
we only stayed here one night for our last night before leaving Vietnam, we were not disappointed! The beds were like huge marshmallows! so soft and heavenly! The fine dining restaurant was a bit disappointing though, I sent back my tuna steak as it was overcooked, and they had no pate, we were the only diners that night.
"The Majestic Saigon is truly majestic"
We got upgraded from a deluxe room to the junior suite. How can we ever complain?Beautiful stay: big charming rooms, good breakfast on the roof terrasse, friendly and helpful and throughout professional staff, convenient location.
"Fabulous stay at the Majestic"
We stayed at the Majestic on our first 4 nights in Vietnam. We chose the place because it has some style and history and is not just another concrete 5 star hotel and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, and the pool was great. The best part is the view from the bar on the 5th floor where we had drinks and breakfast. Breakfast was […] excellent. The beer prices premium.
