I checked in at midnight and was given a key to a room that was already occupied. Then I had to wait for them to bring up new keys. Then the new room smelled like smoke. I could tell they were doing construction on the hotel when I checked in as it was in pretty bad shape. Then the construction workers started pulling up carpet and pulling off wallpaper […] right outside my door at 8am. I called the front desk and they said that the noise would continue all day and they did not even offer to move me to a new room. When I asked to move, they said I would have to come downstairs and get new keys and then move all my stuff to the new room. I was in my pajamas and merely wanted a quiet room to sleep in for another hour. Very badly managed hotel. Skip this place. Read more

Hotel is well maintained, clean, and has a good breakfast. Our only complaint was we stayed on the first floor and if people are in the room above you, you can hear every foot step, everything drop on the floor. Bottom Line: wasn't a quiet hotel from the noise of other occupants.

The room was good except for a broken towel shelf and lack of water pressure. The breakfast was not well monitored and guests had to wait for hot items. Also, the breakfast only lasted until 9 am. When checking out at 9:15 I asked for some coffee and the front desk said "No, we don't have any more." Not I'm sorry or anything.

I thought the accommodations were adquate for our needs. The location off the freeway was excellent and the room was clean,. Staff was helpful with our quesations on the local fair for dining. All in all an ok experience

I pass through Topeka quite often and usually stay at the Marriot. I was trying to save a few bucks, so I booked the night at Best Western for my son and I. I was very pleasantly surprised. As other reviews stated, the beds were hard. Fortunately for me, I don't mind this so much. The staff was helpful in rounding up some menus for places that delivered. […] My room had everything we needed and we were comfortable there. I had a nice large, pet-friendly room. It was very clean and fresh. The staff was very helpful. There was plenty of food at the breakfast buffet, and the dining area was clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The clerk at check in was not as friendly as he could have been. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was o.k. Gravy was very salty and lumpy. I stayed there for a conference and it was easy access to where I needed to go.

Don't expect to be blown away by this hotel, but for what I needed it was perfect. Was staying by myself so only one bed in the room and the room was very spacious. Everything appeared to be updated and I didn't have any issues. The only concern I had was that after 11 pm the main lobby closes and you have to enter through either of the side doors. […] The side entrance near my room was extremely dark at night and being a female, I did not feel safe. I booked this hotel for a short business trip. The hotel was well rated and inexpensive. Upon arrival I was treated as an old frined. The room, gym, pool and buildong are in good condition and clean. The breakfast is better than average for a hotel in this price range. in myopinion this is the best hotel for the money in Topeka. Great job!

It was raining when we arrived but could not park under the awning to check in as the clerks husband and kids were in the lobby playing on the computer. Room was noisy and they did not refill the milk during breakfast

it was a great stay. Right off the highway. I also liked the breakfast it hadd waffles, eggs, bagels etc. I did not get to use the hot tub it was closed by the time we got there other than that a great cheap place to stay if your passing through.

I decided to stay in Topeka because all of the hotels in Manhattan, Kansas were sold out due to the Kansas State season opener that my sister and I were attending on September 3rd. Would definetly stay here again. The room was a litte warm when I checked in but it was 103 outside too! Cooled down nicely by bedtime. Staff very nice, hotel very clean. Bed could have been a little softer but still slept fine.
