"Great business hotel in centre Sao Paulo"
09/04/14 Roy1306 Deurne, The Netherlands
Great breakfast with a lot of choices in bread, eggs, jams and fruit. Hotel has a real business based staff and similar rooms. Several international TV channels and wifi in the entire hotel. Unfortunately not for free! :( Several really nice restaurants in the neighborhood.
"Terrible wi-fi, good location"
07/19/14 seymourstuff London, United Kingdom
This is meant to be a modern hotel - as two freelancers travelling, wi-fi was a key consideration in choosing the hotel, which we were willing to pay a little extra for. The hotel itself is nice enough and otherwise modern, with a good spread for breakfast and a fantastic location but the wi-fi was key for us and it was terrible. You could also only connect one device to the wi-fi at a time so we had to switch between laptop, iPad and phone - absolute pain. The air conditioning was right above the bed which meant we couldn't turn it on without waking up with a sore throat. The staff didn't lock the balcony. For these issues, we unfortunately cannot recommend - not suitable for our purpose.
"Good Funtional Hotel in Good Area"

We stayed at the Tryp for 5 nights during the World Cup. First of all, as previous reviewers have commented, the hotel is in a good safe area with plenty of excellent shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Special mention to the little pasty shop across the road which serves fantastic Chilean empanadas (I would leave a review if I knew the name of the place). As for the hotel itself, when we arrived and were led to the room, it was still not ready (thought the hotel computer would have been able to tell this), however we were immediately upgraded to a superior room - no complaints there! The room was more than sufficient with complimentary dressing gown, slippers and coffee maker. It was also a good size. The breakfast was an excellent spread with everything you could have wanted. We did use the pool on a couple of occasions which was well kept. Only small moan would be the annoying design of the area which would block the sun at certain times. Complimentary wi-fi was put to good use. Some other reviewers have complained about the noise but I must say this was not an issue for us - only noise of note were from passing aircraft. Staff at the front desk were helpful although they did have a small problem understanding our accents which was amusing.

Stayed here for one night during the World Championships because the Tryp Iguatemi did not honor our 3-day reservation (see review). As such, the hotel is a nice building in the same safe area of SP. But the big difference with the Tryp Iguatemi is that noise levels in this hotel are much higher! Both the street noise and the noise of other guests coming back late or getting up early. It must be that this hotel has been built with much less noise insulation. If you want to have a good night's sleep, avoid this hotel !
"Average hotel in an area good for walking to resturants...."
02/13/14 Mark H Port Saint Lucie, Florida
Stayed here for business, the hotel was clean and functional. The resturant was decent with a nice breakfast buffet, cooked to order eggs and plenty of the standard fare you would expect in Brazil. The rooms were standard and clean, a little noisy for my taste (i go to bed early 10pm) each night, but it didi quiet down by midnight. There are plenty of restaurants within walkng distance and a little shop on the corner that has all you need. Would stay again if in the area. Pool and gym were closed for remodel.
"Good for business"

TRYP São Paulo Itaim Hotel is a good choice for business travelers. It's a clean, comfortable and very well located hotel. Besides that, It also has a swimming pool and a fitness center in case you have the time.
"Excellent location and great staff... but..."

Location couldn't be better! Cute neighborhood with everything at an arm's length... A variety of restaurants and many tea and coffee shops in walking distance. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious! However, the room could have been better. No coffee machine in my room - only for "superior" guests. Also, my phone rang at 10pm every night during my stay - only a dial tone when I picked up. Very irritating when you're on a business trip and need your sleep! There was mold growing on the walls in my room - in both the bathroom and by my air conditioner. The gym was minimal, but the outside pool was very beautiful and well kept. This hotel has an excellent price for the location. However, I may try another hotel somewhere in the same neighborhood next time.
"very good hotel if you want to wake up before 7:00am"
08/26/13 Claudia O Rio de Janeiro, RJ
The hotel is quite good, the bedroom is comfortable and clean, king size bed, assorted breakfast (breads, fruits, cake, eggs, cheeses etc), well located. But there is one huge problem: the bedroom door's lock is very noise. It is impossible to close the door without make a loud noise. And, on top of that, the corridor floor has a kind of material that make lots of noise if you are not wearing either a tennis shoe or a soft sole shoe. So, after 7:00 am, when people start to wake up and walk around, it's impossible to sleep. For me, this is hell.
"Great Hotel, Great Staff, Great Location...."

Can I say 'Great' anymore times!!?? But that truly was my experience at this Hotel. Sao Paolo is not for the 'faint-hearted'. It is a massive city and the traffic is legendary. But in the area, called Itaim and being in this Hotel, it was a retreat of calmness against the backdrop of sheer chaos, in the rest of the City. The Hotel is in a great, safe area. Reminded me of the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Lots of small shops, great restaurants, shopping in walking distance. Very upscale residents and the young, hip and beautiful at the clubs and bars. There is a fabulous Park ( Ibirapuera Park) about a three kilometer walk from the Hotel. Just beautiful, safe to walk too and packed on the weekends. Lots of fun!! I stayed on the 16th floor, great view, room was spacious, big bed, comfortable with all the amenities. Nice touch with the robes and slippers. Nice LCD, work table, coffee maker and very fast WiFi. Nice pool and gym on the roof. The Hotel is beautifully kept, staff extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, what a spread, even having an omelette station. And the price, was very reasonable for all that's included and considering the area. All in all, GREAT time!! Would diffidently stay here again and recommend it highly to all.
"quite ok, but with some problems"
04/30/13 prekrasnayaTonya Moscow, Russia
Well, there`s nothing special abour the hotel, it`s comfortable and good located with nice staff but no different from any other. Besides, I experienced some problems during the stay. The light in my room didn´t work just the next day after arrival! So I had to change the room!!! (that means, pack all my belongings again!) The cleaning service: touched and changed the position of my clothes too much, came several times very early (9 in the morning) while I was still in bed. The guarantee method upon arrival doesn`t work! The recepcionists told me that the money was just frozen at my account but in reality it was a payment, so i still haven`t got my money back (250 reals)!
