A excellent hotel for those visiting or having to stay over after a Hospital treatment.You only have a short walk to the Hospital (Macquarie University Hospital)..The staff where very friendly and helpful,the only down side is having to pay the $7.50 a day for parking at the hotel.

We were spending most of our time in Sydney north of the harbour, so this was convenient enough. Facilities are simple enough. Parking is secure but uncover and behind the hotel. If you dont know your way around or are traveling to North Sydney or across the harbour, you might want to look somewhere else as parking and tolls would end up making your stay expensive compared to somewhere more convenient. I found the staff helpful and the room clean and comfortable. The only issue was traffic noise during the night with trucks travelling past and working in the area. The breakfast choice was good and plenty to eat. Restaurant nearby and great outlook near the Uni for walks. Shopping centre very close.

I would definately stay at the Travelodge again. The room was very clean, comfortable and extremely quiet. The tariff was excellent,very good value. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The movie channel would not work. Staff gave up trying after coming to the room and contacting the provider. That was disappointing. There was NO FOOD, only junkfood, available in the Hotel - not even something to microwave. I was pleasantly suprised by the quality and inclusions at this motel. One disappointment was that when I checked in I wasn't told or didn't understand that there would be a $50 holding deposit debited to my credit card. This would not be a problem except that I wasn't informed that it could take up to 10 working days for this amount to be reimbursed […] to me if it wasn't needed. I paid for my room and buffet breakfast online before I arrived at the motel, so I really don't think the security deposit was necessary. I feel that if they do this to everyone, someone is making money somewhere but it definately isn't me. Otherwise, comfort and quality was fine. I did go to get some ice from the ice machine, unfortunately there was nothing there to collect the ice in. We found the motel without too much trouble but the signage was not visible on arrival until you had driven past the motel, this could be addressed. Read more

The noise level was not being managed. I have other guests that were boisterous late into the evening like 130am and then there was a scuffle early in the morning by one of the guest raising his voice using faul languages at 530am. Overall, the staff were good but was not impressed with the management of the noise level.

I booked a room for 1 Adult and 1 16 year old child.The bed for my son was a sofa bed, but it didn't even have any sheets or blankets on it, just a matress protector..Considering I specifically booked stating 1 adult and 1 child , the room was dissappointing.There was also no mention of the $7.50 parking charge at the time of booking.

We booked this hotel for the New Year's, looking for a decent place to stay for a couple of nights not far from the centre of Sydney. Its is very close to Macquarie Uni its located North East of the main campus, its nice, but its a smoking free hotel it means that you can't smoke in the hotel as well as the rooms, breakfast is expensive around 18 AUS each day and the wireless is also expensive it will cost you 20 AUS a day or 100 AUD a week. Extremely rude assistant manager Lisa The Assistant Manager Lisa was extremely rude when I called to enquire about the location and facilities of the hotel. She was very impatient and rude in answering my questions. She was not trying to answer the questions but blaming me for booking the room without asking the questions through Hotels.com first. I can only say her behaviour was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. Only because I have already paid the room, I reluctantly stay in this hotel. When I enquired about Lisa at the reception on the day of my arrival, they told me that she is promoted. I cannot imagine how such an unprofessional person can be promoted to a more senior position. Extremely disappointed!!!! In contrast, the person who made the booking for me at Hotels.com was very helpful and friendly. This hotel provided all the basics needed for a short stay: comfortable bed, tidy room etc.. Location is semi-industrial and not that appealing. They charge for car parks but that was not clearly obvious at booking. Entry to the hotel from the carpark is not clearly marked.

If you need to be at Macquarie University - this hotel is right on the outer edge of the campus - great location. Sadly the service was highly variable - depending on whom you were talking to and I was woken unnecessarily by hotel staff on 2 out of three mornings I was there (7am & 8.30am), which helped me decide not to buy a further 13 nights at the […] hotel. Initial contact with staff was ok - not welcoming - no smile from the Gen Y concierge 1 for example. The room was very neat, very clean, very new and comfortable. The fridge was off so who knows if the milk portions were good or not (I didn't try them). I had to pull the fridge out of its cavity to turn it back on. Probably a previous guest had turned it off because as I discovered, despite being clean and new, it was quite loud at night. The TV picture was poor (grainy) and the aspect ratio of the image was wrong (it was stretched). I'd hardly pay $15 for a movie under those circumstances. By far the biggest issue for me was that on the first morning THE ENTIRE HOTEL was woken by the duty manager at 7am trying to get the attention of the guest who's car was about to get blocked in on their driveway by the road crew who were working on the sliproad. I was exhausted and REALLY needed the 2 extra hrs sleep I could have had that morning. Knowing that they have a twitter account they spruik their discount offerings on, I rolled over & @replied to @travelodgehotel asking why we were all woken. 9 days later I have not been answered. (NB - this is an example of EXACTLY how NOT to do social media). When I got to the desk later that day I asked why the entire hotel had been woken on account of one guest's car instead of it being towed. I got a fairly sympathetic response from concierge 2. A colleague also at the hotel who spoke to the duty manager in question got NO apology for her poor judgement and was served up some attitude instead. L'hotel est tres eloigne de sydney, a plus de 20 minutes en voiture. Il n'y a pas de salon. L'ameublement est tres simple et tres rudimentaire. Il y avait des toiles d'araignees sur les fenetres des chambres et pas de personnel pour les nettoyer! !!!!
