"Close to the Airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
It was a pleasant, clean and modern place to stay before we left Italy the next morning. The free shuttle service to the airport was a nice perk. The evening reception desk person was very friendly and also gave us great advise of a good place to eat in the area.

"Good value."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
All in all a great little B&B. Only small annoyances location on main street a bit loud, internet when it did work: it was very slow. Housekeeping only available before 12pm. So if you are not out of your room by then you won't have toilet paper, fresh towels etc. Good perks free snacks and and drinks.

"Book this hotel!"
I just returned from an amazing Rome vacation...and part of what made the trip perfect was the Hotel Ponte Sisto. From the beginning, the staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean and beautiful. The hotel is nicely located, and we walked to all points of interest (if you aren't into walking, the cab rides were fairly short with one exception, […] and that was because of road issues - the cab driver's GPS getting us slightly turned around). Restaurants and shops nearby, both on the side of the river with the hotel, and just across the bridge in Trastevere. Breakfast each morning was wonderful -- variety of fresh, cold and hot items, juice, coffee, tea or cappuccino. There is wifi in the courtyard area, and an internet outlet in the room. There is roof garden as well -- if you'd like to see a sunset or two. Critical? Just a couple of things -- First, I was hoping that the breakfast would be served in the courtyard area, but it apparently is only on Sundays (or at least when we were there) -- the day we left. The main breakfast area is large enough, but can get warm with so many people coming and going. We read earlier posts suggesting that we request a courtyard side room, which we did, in order to avoid nightly street noise. We could hear the occasional loud person on the street, and so it could probably be louder street-side...however...this would probably be true in any hotel. Overall...there aren't enough "+++++++" tp put behind the A! Great!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a 4-Star..."
If Ponte Sisto is a 4-Star hotel, my wife is Angelina, and my name is Brad Pitt! Please do not get me wrong this was not a disaster of a hotel. The staff was accommodating, the breakfast buffet was splendid and the location was a plus. However, they advertise air-conditioning and an over-worked fan does not equal A/C. We went in April and the room did […] quite stuffy at night. Opening the window is not an option because that invites in a cacophony of sounds- Vespa engines and police sirens. Also, though the interior was quaint and charming, the exterior was drab and lifeless. The location of the hotel makes for convenient day-trips and easy access to Trastevere, but is not in the best part of town. To be honest there were no safety issues just a general feeling of "quasi-slum" with the graffiti and the homeless guy with his dog in the alley. A plus though is there is a nice market across from the homeless guy. Why I picked this hotel was the location. The location is great. The Vatican, the Pantheon, The Colosseum, Piazza Navonna, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are all easy to access. Full disclosure: I booked this hotel as part of a package so I do not know about rate / value, but I suspect we got a great deal. Additionally, I only have two Italian hotels (this one and the one in which we stayed in Florence) as a base of reference. I would recommend this hotel but caution the potential guest as to traveling when the weather would not impact a good night's sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Roman Holiday"
Our stay at Hotel Ponte Sisto was an excellent experience. Quiet, safe, clean and in walking distance to everything in old Rome. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Lovely restaurants in Trastevere were close by to the hotel. The hotel breakfast was plentiful and varied. Hotel Ponte Sisto bath and bed linens were of high quality. February was […] a wonderful time to be in Rome. There were no tourist crowds or lines at museums, sights and restaurants. Weather was perfect for travel. Sunny warm days ((60 -70 degrees) and cool evenings. We were able to have lunch everyday at outside cafes. La dolce vita! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good quiet hotel in Rome"
Nice hotel in a good location, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet place to stay in Rome. we stayed here for four days in February 2011, the only negative point I would like to make is that the check-out time is too early (11 am) and the use of the internet too expensive (E3,- for 30 minutes). Besides these smaller points […] our stay was great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It really doesn't get better than this is Rome. Close to everything, but tucked away on a quiet street away from the tourist mob. "Perfect location, fabulous staff"
The Hotel Ponte Sisto was perfectly located, professionally staffed by caring people (who spoke English very well), and maintained thoughtfully with regard to convenience and cleanliness. The room was a bit small and spartan, but then I did not go to Rome to stare at a hotel room. All in all, a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very Nice Hotel"
The Ponte Sisto Hotel was quite nice. The center patio area at the hotel was very beautiful, and everything at the hotel was well maintained. The hotel staff was quite friendly, helpful, and either spoke English, or was able to understand what I was trying to say in my very poorly expressed Italian. : - ) The sleeping area of the room was basic, but […] comfortable. The bathroom was constructed of beautiful marble, with a full shower and bath. The only negative experience that we encountered during our stay was that the temperature control of the room was very limited. The entire hotel either has cooling or heating, not the ability to switch back and forth between both. We were traveling in November, during an unusually warm time; which in turn meant the room was hot with no way to cool it off, due to the cooling system already having been turned off for the season. Unfortunately this seems to be a common limitation with hotels/ buildings in Italy. The location of the hotel is great, and is not in the main tourist area of Rome. This was exactly what we were looking for, however I know some travelers prefer different. We have/ would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect Location, Wonderful Hotel!"
This hotel was everything we could have asked for and more. They arranged for a private car upon request to pick us up at the airport and it was the start of a great stay. The driver was prompt and got us to the hotel with ease. We had mentioned to the hotel that we were on our honeymoon and they gave us a bottle of Italian wine in our room when we […] arrived. The entire staff (save one surly waitress that we only saw once in the bar the entire 5 days we were there) was more than helpful and courteous. When we had a question about how to get somewhere they'd pull out a map and show us the route, even making reservations for us one night at a hard-to-get-into- place. We met so many nice travelers by spending our down time (5pm - 7pm) in the beautiful courtyard that the hotel has. We would sit out each night and meet tons of people, laughing and sharing stories about where we'd come from. The location is more than ideal. We walked to EVERYTHING, except the Spanish Steps, which we didn't have time for. The Campo Di Fiori is only a 2 minute walk away and is a fresh produce market in the morning and turns to a hip, restaurant scene in the evening. A great meat store is in the Campo as well and has a huge selection of everything pork - cured, dried, smoked. yum! There is also a small grocery store directly next to the hotel where we bought all our wine, snacks and water which was extremely convienient and I would reccomend highly - the prices cannot be beat! Our room seemed small at first (we are used to the huge American rooms) but I must say that after our 5 days there we were very happy with the size and it seemed very cozy, not cramped. It helped that everything seemed like new and was extremely clean and modern, very modern. The breakfast (I found out later) was very typical of what we found in all the hotel's we stayed at during our long trip in Italy. Meats, cheesese, pasteries, but my husband loved that they had scrambled eggs and bacon. We didn't find that anywhere Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will take my husband to this hotel on my next trip to Italy"
This hotel was very nice and very comfortable. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was fairly large, upscale and very clean, with a hair dryer, and converter plug. The courtyard breakfast buffet was a beautiful place to begin our days in Rome. The location is great - a very short walk to Campo di Fiori and 10 […] minutes to Piazza Navona. I would highly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Definitely a Keeper"
This hotel is tops in almost all respects. But, contrary to the hotel's in-room information, the Ponte Sisto's dining room is actually open only for breakfast, unless you are attending a meeting or special event (i.e., not for dinner for ordinary guests). When, around dinner time, my wife asked at the front desk where the hotel restaurant was, she was […] told, "We don't have a restaurant." No .information was offered by the front desk on any of the several good restaurants in the neighborhood. Apart from this lapse, we loved the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"My Rome Hotel"
The Ponte Sisto met my expectations. This was my thrid time in Rome. I have to say the hotel, made my best time. It's in a perfect location. Close to all the attractions of Rome a bit away from the noise busy areas such as Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, or the PAntheon. Yet you can access these areas within 3-7 minutes. The staff is very professional […] and top notch. They very helpful in so many ways. Specifically using the city's public transportation. All I had to do was tell them where I was trying to go and they would make a plan eithe by foot, bus, metro or taxi. The only down side is that the room was small. But this was not a big deal. The Ponte Sisto is well kept and extremly clean. They granted my request of a quiet room. I will definately return in the future. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel Ponte Sisto-Thumbs Up"
The breakfast spread was wonderful. It was nice to get up, go downstairs, have breakfast and then go back up to the room and freshen up before we went out. The staff was great. They made reservations at restaurants for us regularly. They also were able to print our online tickets for us. On the last day, I had to print our boarding passes. The link […] which I forwarded did not work so they spend about 20 minutes to figure out how to print the boarding passes. I definitely recommend the hotel. "Not bad"
After reading the reviews I may have had it built up to be better than it was, room was very clean and staff were friendly, no wifi whatsoever which was a pain, location is ok not great and as Rome is hard to navigate we spent a lot of time trying to find the hotel (drink was not the reason). I would recommend however there maybe better locations near […] the pantheon. If you do stay then pay for the breakfast, 15 euro may seem costly but it is not, all places to eat in the area are the same price if not more expensive and less quality. We found the Ponte Sisto to be a nice, friendly and efficiently run hotel which was conveniently located for all the major sights of Rome and for the many reasonably priced restaurants of the Trastevere district just across the River Tiber. "Great hotel, but..."
The Ponte Sisto was a great hotel. It wasn't much to look at from the outside (but that applied to most hotels we saw in Rome), but inside was very impressive. The small lobby was clean and tidy, and check in was a breeze. The rooms were clean and very well kept, with smart, well stocked bathrooms. There were a few negative aspects but nothing major […] - the beds were a bit hard and the TV had no English channels. What we did find annoying was that although there is free internet in the rooms, it is wired and not WiFi, as such smartphones etc were useless (unless you hook up a laptop and create your own WiFi hotspot). As there is no free WiFi anywhere in the hotel (including the common areas such as the lobby), we did feel that this was a bit of a let down for a 4* hotel. The location of the hotel was ideal for all the major attractions, and we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. So why do I not recommend this hotel? The noise from outside! Our room faced the main street which seems to act as a main throughway, and virtually every night until the early hours the noise was unacceptable. It could well be that rooms on the other side of the hotel are quieter, or the fact that we visited at New Year was to blame. But either way, I would look at other reviews to see if people visiting at other times had the same issue. We may have simply been unlucky, but I would not stay again unless I knew I was at the very least allocated a room away from the main street. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is steps away from the Tiber and within walking distance to all the "must see" sights of old Roma. Once inside the rooms were spacious and extremely luxurious and outstandingly clean. The breakfast room was beautiful and the food fabulous.
