"good value for the right price"
The hotel was exactly as expected. Make sure to have your room face north (facing the bay). Great view, much less street noise. The one bedroom suite is roomy and larger than expected. I would stay there again. Location is close everything in the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel at good price for great location"
The hotel riviera is in a great location--walking distance to Stanley park, Coal Harbor and Granville Island and close to hundreds of restaurants. I was expecting the hotel to be dirty and/or a bit worn for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. The elevator is slow and the internet spotty, but those were minor inconveniences.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
we were promised a balcony and a view. We got no balcony, view to a parking lot, and could hear neighbors when they talked (thin walls). We had a "bachelor" suite, so maybe your experience would be better in other rooms. But we were pretty upset. Also, we threw sheets on the floor, but housekeeping merely folded it and put it back on (not changed). […] Location was great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay for the money, with awesome service!"
Myself and 3 classmates shared one suite for 6 days, and had an excellent stay! It was a little musty when we first got there, but after we opened the balcony door and aired it out a little, it was fine. And I am extremely allergic to mold and would not have been comfortable if there was any whatsoever! The owner and all of the staff were super helpful […] with where to go and what to do, answering any questions we had. They were wonderfully accommodating, when we needed something that was above and beyond normal good service. The location was excellent, an easy walk to all of down town, and the room was much larger than expected. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us without constantly tripping over each other. The elevator (like most of the other reviews say) is a little ancient, but never gave us any problems. If you are looking for location, space, and service, for a more than reasonable price this is an excellent choice! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for a week"
We stayed 5 days in this hotel. It is like a small department, comfortable and at walking distance from some of Vancouver's touristic sites. Employees were kind and they were helping us with our tours.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pass On This Hotel"
This is an old run down hotel they are trying to pass off as "renovated". I would only recommend staying here if you get it for a really low rate. Otherwise there are so many hotels in this Vancouver area to choose from that this hotel is certainly not worth the rate we paid. Also, we asked for a wake up call and didn't receive it leaving us rushed […] to get out of there to catch a train. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old, run-down hotel"
This was the worst hotel experience that I've ever had. Extra charges for a crib, early check-in, baggage scale. W finally got into our room after 3 and went to put our kids to bed but the room wasn't clean yet and housekeeping was still working. At 9, we got a knock on the door from some people who were assigned to the same room; an apology call followed; […] then the manager called - unfortunately our kids were woken up by the continuous commotion. Once the rooms were worked out, the people next door started moving their luggage in - the walls were so thin that we were kept up until after 11. In the morning, I went out for coffee with one of the kids and when we returned i struggled with the front door while the hotel clerk just sat and watched. I will never stay there again. "Don't like the new changes."
They took down the drapes so now when the sun comes up the sun comes right into your room and wakes you up. We stayed early May and the sun came up around 5:15 waking me up. Who wants to wake up at five in the morning when you are on vacation??? Also, they are now charging for parking - they didn't before. I was surprised by this change. In addition, […] some of the hotel staff are completely clueless and have no idea what they are doing and take forever to get it done. You wait around forever and ever when you want to check in. "Best hotel to stay in Vancouver downtown"
This hotel is close to all good restaurants and the hotel staff are very friendly . I think I would probably stay here for my next visit The rooms are pretty good and spacious with free wifi and full kitchenGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, ok hotel"
This hotel was in a great location in Vancouver (walking distance to downtown, yaletown, gas town, stanley park and granville island). Unfortunately, our room was very out dated and there were very obvious signs of use. The doors to each room would close as if slammed and we were continuously jolted from sleep as people went in and out of their rooms […] overnight. However the staff were all very professional and we saw it is a good option if you just need a clean place to stay at an affordable rate in Vancouver that is close to everything. I made a mistake on the days I needed to book and Sam was so helpful in accommodating us. Our room was clean and the location to downtown Vancouver was perfect. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone. Thanks again Sam for the great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I would never refer any one to Rviera on Robson, Smelly rooms, bad management, bad customer service, unclean room, dirty floor, parking area extremely dirty and full of dust. customer service not friendly. has no professionalism.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location. old hotel."
the location is good on walking street. the hotel seem old. the elevator is dead when I checked-in. the room is clean but the washroom's lock is not working. There is no heater in the room. "Nice place good service gr8 location"
Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The staff as well as owner went above and beyond to ensure we like n enjoy our stay. Polite and helpful staff. The place is undergoing renovations but the team is doing a great job to make up for the inconvenience. Ideally situated in heart of downtown n very reasonably priced. Amazing service and the location and cost where great, but the room looked like it had better days, some of the blinds where falling down and it looked like it needed some paint and some updatingGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Walking distance to all must see sights"
It was our second stay in this hotel and we will be back next year. Great location, good value for your money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was huge, it was actually like an apartment. Furniture and kitchen were decent. No complains about room and equipment. Everything was clean. The problem was the elevator, it wasnt working and also, the room is noisy cause the A/c from the window. I travel a lot and I recomend this hotel for a short stay, low budget or party mode =) cheers.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"10 Flights of stairs can ruin a hotel stay."
I thought the staff was inattentive and the 'regular' price of a room is ridiculously overpriced for what is offered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is a place for bed and shower. The elevator was not working during my stay. I stayed on the 1st floor. 20 min walk from skytrain station or take bus no. 5 from City Center station. Close to Coal Harbour. Very low shower water pressure. You need to try your key card at least 3times before your door unlocks. I like the fact that there are fridge, microwave […] oven and stove in the room. They shut off the heater during the day unless you request them to turn it on. There's a thermostat in the room tho. Renovated in 2013 but it is very low quality Reno job. Very clean room and great value for downtown location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel .. But the staff was awful!!"
The hotel itself has some very nice Rooms.. But the desk staff and management went out of their way to be Unfriendly and unhelpful. "Mini hotel on shopping & eating Robson street"
The rooms are big like apartment suites in this hotel. Full kitchen and two queen beds, non-carpeted floor so it feels cleaner. The location is great for trying delicious yet inexpensive Japanese and Korea cuisines, and just a few blocks from the fun shopping on Robson. Walking distance to downtown, mall, movies and the Orpheum.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Did the job"
We stayed at this hotel because the price and location were great choices for us. The 2 queen room was huge compared to most hotel rooms and had a complete kitchen. However the kitchen area smelled musty and gave the whole room a funky odour although we got used to the smell. The furniture was pretty banged up, the baseboard heaters were creaky and […] the street traffic was loud. I expected the sound of traffic being on Robson street but what they don't warn you about is the annoying dinging sound made when people are crossing at the crosswalk. This might've only been noticeable for us because we were in the corner room closest to the crosswalk and had hangovers which made us susceptible to annoying noises. The bathroom was small but quite clean and did the job although if you like really hot showers you will want to look elsewhere. We had to turn the shower to the hottest it would go and even then it was lukewarm but bearable. I appreciated that the bed linens didn't consist of haggard comforters with mysterious stains but were rather perfectly white sheets. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Party animals next door."
The hotel clerk was very nice and asked us if we wanted to upgrade for which we did. The room was big, but tired looking. It was clean though and the beds were not bad. The windows are very old and the air conditioning unit was very loud. Needless to say there was a lot of street noise. The worst part was the loud party going on in the room across the […] hall which started at 1:00 and went to 4:00 a.m. I thought we had checked into the hyena den at the zoo, but then realized that even animals have more sense and respect than the idiots next door. "Riviera provides great location and view at an inc"
After a week of work, we were in town visiting friends for a night, and the Riviera provided us with a downtown location very fairly priced. "Sam" provided us fantastic service and the ocean-view was incredible. The front desk was able to recommend some local restaurants and bars that lived up to expectations. The pricing is great for the downtown location […] (especially for 1 night) and although the Hotel originally appeared small in the foyer, the rooms were very open and large. A fully functional and operational kitchen was a huge bonus - especially if you want to self prepare a dinner or breakfast. Overall it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend it. "Perfect for what I needed."
Great location, close to the sea wall for morning runs and just a 5minute walk to pick up healthy groceries at the Whole Foods market. "good location but noisy"
From the outside, the hotel looks much worse than it actually is. Room was quite big, but we got little sleep due to the obnoxiously loud karaoke party on our floor. When we called the front desk around 1am to ask them to shut the party down, they did nothing. They had me booked into the wrong room when we arrived, and made me pay extra to go into the […] room I originally booked online. the hotel was slightly run down, you could see the building was aging. The elevator was the worst, there was graffiti, missing tiles, let alone the elevator was extremely small. I had a wonderful time staying here. The staff were very friendly and attentive, at any hour. The room was clean, modern and spacious. "Riviera, hotel of problems"
Only stayed for the night, When I checked in with my girlfriend, the service was incredibly slow. During the day time check it, they have some 20 year old kid running the show, who by the way was extremely rude. Stood there and tried to up-sell me after I had already payed for my stay, all while staring at his phone and not even giving me the time of […] day. Was very unimpressed by his service. After the service, the room was decent, everything seemed to be in place, nice and clean. But then things started to get rough, The toilet broke several times, maintenance had to come and fix it again and again. I got so fed up I fixed it my self after the 3rd time. Yes the THIRD time. Was really good if would Hav been better if we were offered complimentary breakfastGenuine Expedia guest review
Toilet kept continually filling, looked at by hotel tradesman, but still had to quite often lift lid to flush. WiFi was hopeless either in the room or at reception. The room is not as big as it looks online. It looked great for 3 people, 2 in the bed and third on the fold out lounge - NO, had to put son into own room at our cost. sGenuine Expedia guest review
