Carlton Hotel - Istanbul

We had a pleasant stay here. The service was good, staff was always ready to help answer questions. Our room was fine, our sons had rooms that could use some upgrades but were overall fine. The breakfast was good. The location was good with plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood and the tram close by.

The location is ok, close to Grand Bazaar. The Hotel staff lacks friendliness big time! We arrived in a minivan and with a large group of family, one of the Hotel staff suggested to us to park on the sidewalk and made a special price of 10TL "just for us", the whole thing came across rather fishy... The front desk staff greeted us with the question […] what rate we got for the Hotel and was very unhappy that we got such a good rate through Expedia. Lacks professionalism. For a 4 star Hotel I expect them to speak better English and have better manners with Hotel guests. The rooms are small. The crew that cleans the rooms did not really clean the bathrooms, just put new towels in, stains that existed on the lavabo in the bathroom when we arrived continued to stay there throughout our stay (I started ceaning them myself). All this does not deserve 4 stars. Pros: breakfast. Very good and the staff is friendlier. The Orange Juice is not included... which is kind of funny, but at least it is freshly squeezed. Read more

It is a well located two-star hotel rather than four-star hotel. The rooms are too small and quite neglected. It was dissapointing to realize that the free transfer service to the airport that is announced in their website is false. The breakfast didn't exceed the expectations. I would not recommend it.

The Hotel should be rated a three stars hotel not a four stars hotel. It is an average Hotel. Althouhg the floor carpets have not been cleaned in some time, beds were cleaned and comfortable. Bathrooms were also very clean and towels were changed daily. The furniture is appropirate, with mini bar. They have a terrible policy regarding air conditioning […] use which should be taken into consideration if you plan to stay during the summer months. The air conditioner will work for one hour, at times, for two hours, some other times, and then shuts. You will have to wait close to one full hour, to turn it on again. I asked in the front desk if there was something wrong with my air conditioner and was told that it was hotel policy to have air conditioners run like that. On a hot night, if you want to sleep comfortable, you will have a hard time doing it. Breakfast are ok. Beware that orange juice, fried eggs or omeletes are not part of the buffet, you have to pay extra for them. Hotel staff is nice and helpful. Read more

said breakfast was incuded BUT there is an extra charges for fried eggs and juices and we were not informed and aware about this till breakfast finished waiter brought a bill to us. is this a normal practice for all turkey hotel? room A/C was on and off on certain time, i think they want to save energy.

Location is ok, business center does not exist, nor they would not help you to print your iteniary. Room is very small and AIr Conditioning Installed right above bed which is blowing to your head what could make you sick. Breakfast is ok.

It was up to my expectation, Receptionist named "Muhammet" was found very cooperative and helpful. Staff is helpful and always more then ready to help or assist. Great service by them....Location is lil difficult to find but if we can get to hotel by taking train to Aksaray Metro station. Hotel is on 10 mins walk from there. Thank you!!!

La camera era in una posizione affacciata su un cortile interno con vista di case fatiscenti, veniva sommariamente pulita ogni giorno. La cena con poca scelta e con prezzi elevati rispetto ai ristoranti vicini. L'hotel non è da scegliere se si vuole girare a piedi, è necessario un mezzo per muoversi, la zona è periferica. Altamente sconsigliato muoversi […] a piedi la sera oltre il raggio di 500 mt dall'hotel, dove ci sono personaggi per nulla raccomandabili, i quali tenteranno di vendervi ogni cosa e insisteranno per portarvi con loro, diffidate da chi vi ferma e tenta di iniziare una conversazione, soprattutto nella zona vicino alla fermata del tram. De reis met de familie van 13 personen verliep perfect; óók de trans-fer vanaf het vliegveld SAW naar het hotel, die we via e-mail met het hotel afspraken was goed geregeld. Hoewel wij 6 drie persoons, rookvrije kamers hadden afgesproken, bleek dát niet helemaal uit de verf te komen. Alleen de slaapkamer van de drie jongens uit de familie voldeed daar […] aan, de overige kamers waren voor 2 personen (wat ook wel voldoende was), één klamer bleek echter nogal rokerig. Maar alles was soms iets gedateerd, maar netjes in orde. Het ontbijt is prima, de bediening keurig en prettig. Tenslotte kan worden gezegd, dat het hotel prima is gelegen op loopafstand van veel prachtige bezienswaardigheden. Wij hebben het er uitstekend naar de zin gehad. Read more

Kleine kamer, bloedheet, oude badkamer, vervallen. Bed klein en slecht matras. Ontbijt was er eigenlijk niet. Paar stukjes stokbrood... En jus de orange moest je ineens 2 euro voor betalen! Belachelijk! Thee vulden ze niet bij op kamer. Gehorig, heel gehorig en geen internet zoals wel stond aangegeven. Was ook duur!

l'hotel Carlton si trova a cinque minuti dal centro,una zona molto tranquilla.Il personale molto disponibile e gentile, una buona colazione e discrete condizioni di strutture e mobilio.L'unica nota storta era la moquette delle camere. L'hotel di trova in una zona tranquilla e poco turistica di Istanbul. Molto vicino alla zona Universitaria e accanto a bellissime moschee. Dalla nostra stanza, al settimo piano dell'albergo, potevamo ammirare in tutto il suo splendore la Şehzade Camii. In una posizione abbastanza centrale, lo staff è molto disponibile anche se non tutti parlano Inglese, I tavoli esterni offrono la possibilità di pranzare, cenare o soffermarsi per bere qualcosa e fare quattro chiacchere.
