The hotel was nice overall. the biggest problem was getting towels, after room was cleaned,sometimes they left towels and sometimes they didn't. After we left tip for maids, than no problem with towels.

My room was not ready for occupancy: 1) after flushing the toilet droned on loudly. I asked to have it serviced, but it was never fully remedied and the sound made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. 2) room was dark because the lightbulb was burned out in the one bedside table; 3) no wash clothes in the bathroom; 4) refrigerator was unplugged […] and the cord was behind a very heavy credenza that I could not move in order to plug it in. Also, when I returned after a hard day of work, my keys would not unlock the door. I had to go all the way back to the front desk to get them re-calibrated. Service at the restaurant was excellent and the view from it of the ocean is outstanding. Hotel is very conveniently located for both airport and business. If the housecleaning-room upkeep were improved significantly, I would return. But I'll try a different hotel next time. Read more

Staff in the hotel especially Filipinos are very courteous and accommodating . I also left my laptop in front desk and they are very quick to call. They are diligent in cleaning the room daily. The BEST thing about this place is that it's beach side hotel for less than $100/night. You will compromise the other stuff (cleanliness, service, etc). Even after calling ahead to confirm, our room was still set up as 2 twins, not a king (twins pushed together). Cleanliness of rooms is questionable. Carpets- bad need of replacing. Bathrooms- barely […] clean. I suspect they just spot clean the important parts. Also, the bathroom door is slatted. As in- you can hear/smell EVERYTHING. And NOTE: no bathroom vents/fans. Getting our room cleaned- housekeeping frequently did not replace our used towels with new ones. Had to call nearly every time. Unpleasant housekeeping lady- had left for breakfast early, and came back late afternoon, thinking we had given them ample time to clean. No dice. Around 3p, one of them shows up and was super irritated that we're in the room. Didn't even give us a chance to vacate! Key cards- continuously did not work. Constantly going back down to get new ones. By check out, was handing them a fistful of unusable key cards. Bottom line- I knew what I could be getting due to price, and I definitely learned from my experience. I won't stay here again- I'll pay extra for a better hotel. Read more

Bad service! No proper management! We recommend to frequent travelers who know way around the island like us since this hotel is far from the main tourist area. Need a rent a car. Filthy carpet and bath tile grout, louver bath door offers no privacy, bath towels are not replenished, no phone directory/instructions, lamp shade falling apart, outrageous prices at onsite bar/grill. The only thing going for this hotel is the infinity pool and its beachfront location.

This was my third trip to Guam. The previous trips I stayed in big hotels in the main tourist area. This time I decided to stay in a smaller hotel. Pros: First, Cheap. Second, Away from the main tourist areas. Third, A nice soft sand beach, rather than the course coral sand in the main tourist area. Fourth, right on the beach. Fifth, usually they give […] quick service. Cons: First, the room I was in was poorly lit. It seemed like they were trying to save electricity. Second, the Internet connection was poor, and I was constantly being kicked off the server. The server didn't recognize that I wasn't online and my time, (which was only 10 free hours of service) disappeared while I wasn't connected. This is the fault of the Internet provider. They should have pinged me to see if I was still online. Third, in order to get ice, you have to go to the front desk. I've never seen that before. The only rationales I can think of is that the Island has to be careful with its resources, or that they are trying to save money. Fourth, the hotel restaurant and bar were overpriced in my opinion. But then again, I'm rather cheap. Conclusion: If you want to have a nice tropical vacation, spend less, avoid big hotels, and stay away from the main tourist areas the Hotel Santa Fe is perfect. Major disappointment! 1. Lack of communication from the beginning to the end. Upon arrival to the hotel at 3 pm, our room was not available until 4. We were given no information or instructions about the hotel regarding the facilities or events, verbally or in written form. We were never contacted by the manager. Invasive Music making it impossible to rest at night. The room that we requested was Ocean View. This lounge is next to the beach, then the open parking lot goes up a slight incline to the hotel and then to the rooms, our hotel room was center audience in a natural amphitheater from 9 pm until 2 am. 3. No authorized staff to deal with the problems at night. We had the sound of water leaking in the ceiling of our room began at about 11 pm. We contacted the front desk and the maintenance man came up at midnight, then said he would check and we never saw or heard anything from him again. Next, our toilet backed up and we were first told that they would send someone up right away. I waited for 20 minutes and I called again to the front and was told the maintenance man would be in at 6 am. Loved our experience there. Especially the beautiful beach access! Best ever! The hotel itself needs updating. Advertised as a room with a King sized bed. We arrived at 9pm with teenage daughter only to find that this hotel's idea of 2 beds in room consisted of 2 single beds; very hard for a couple to sleep in a single bed! Next day we asked for the king sized bed as they had no double beds and all they did was push the 2 single beds together, put a pad over them, new sheets and that was it! Had to call […] front desk to request a 3rd pillow, duh! Never had enough towels although asked daily. Borrowed iron from housekeeping and when they cleaned the room, took the iron although I still needed it that day! Had to call down again to request (on the same day!!). Housekeeping departments on Guam have gone from filipino staff to chuukese (islanders) and they don't do as good a job. Left a toothpick on the floor in bathroom the entire time we were there and guess what? Never was swept up...... They have laundry facilities (wonderful) and you can walk to Shirleys, a real nice local restaurant. Had a real friendly 'house dog' that everyone fed and was real nice. It's a small 5 story 'boutique' hotel painted pink, and was 'okay'. Definitely a motel not hotel situation and I have been in the hotel profession since 1977 all over the world. I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Santa Fe for a week in September. The accomodations were adequate, and I liked the location -- quiet and away from "hotel row." Since I had a rental car, it was easy to drive anywhere on the island from there. What I particularly liked about the location was being able to walk out to the island is front of the hotel […] and being able to see a blue starfish as well as sea cucumbers and some small blue fish. I didn't try the restaurant at the hotel, but it looked good -- sitting right on the beach. I liked being at a small hotel that had a swimming pool and jacuzzi as well as a beachfront location. The air conditioning in the room worked well (and the halls were cool as well), and it was nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. The only thing I didn't like was the old cigarette smell that just stays and stays even though the hotel is a non-smoking hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel, and I am planning to return for there for a week's stay during our Christmas break! Read more
