the hotel was recently remodeled and it was close to everything. the staff was extremely helpful and not overpriced for SB.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not Worth The Price"
Price does not match what you get. Rooms are smaller and not nearly as well kept as to be expected. You can hear everything on the street through the window and doors even though they are closed. Maids try to enter rooms early and despite do not disturb signs and letting them know to come back later. They attempt to come into the room regardless of […] speaking clearly and loudly through the door that service is not needed right now. Breakfast is not nearly as fresh or available as advertised. "Close to places to dine, and not far from beach"
I was not sure about staying at this hotel as my husband and I have stayed at bnb's in Santa Barbara. They can be costly and so I opted for something less expensive and we loved this hotel! The staff greeted us warmly as soon as we arrived. We parked our car in the lot and never used it again until we were ready to drive home. We walked everywhere, […] even to the beach. It was a long walk to the beach but we just took our time window shopping until we got to the beach. The room was a perfect size and the renovations that were recently done shows. It has an updated feel and we loved the sliding glass door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. We also had free breakfast downstairs which was a nice option. Would we stay there again? Most definitely!! Look forward to our stay again and again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, modern, spacious hotel near main strip"
Awesome location to the main shopping strip, a 15min walk to the beach / pier. Free parking, free breakfast, free wifi. Great staff. Highly recommendedGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was a nice value and the people were over the top nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
From the outside it looks a little dated, but inside the hotel/rooms was very modern.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just what we needed for my son's wedding!"
The outside of the hotel is nothing to look at, but the inside, pool, breakfast area and our rooms were great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice staff"
Great stay, great pool and great staff. We have enjoyed our stay very much, the breakfast was very good, the best in America.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location (to SB Mission & to State St)"
La Quinta was located somewhere in between SB Mission and the restaurants/shops on State Street. Walked to most places from Inn. Second floor room faced pool. Room was fine. However, there was a lot of noise from the fridge in room, and from all the squeaking floor boards from room upstairs. The place was okay for a short 2-night stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great staff, great service, great room. Very clean, excellant location. My only complaint is that they need a jacuzzi. Pool was warm, but could not replace a spa.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, good rooms and service"
Perfect location on the main downtown street (State), just 3-4 blocks from the main action. The rooms and the lounge seem to have been remodeled recently. Comfortable breakfast area. Courteous, professional service. The only drawback we encountered was that the walls between rooms seemed to be paper thin, since we could hear everything our neighbor […] did, and we didn't appreciate being woken up at 2:30am. Still, a good experience overall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We needed a night to break up our drive from Carmel to San Diego. Found a room at La Quinta Inn. The room had just been remodeled. It was clean and spacious. The staff was very nice and helpful with giving us a room close to the grass area for our dog. We will definitely stay here again. There is a park near by to take your dog as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is cute and has a nice vibe to it. HOWEVER, we stayed in room 108 - next the utility room. Avoid this room - between the loud humming of the fridge in the room, which we hd to plug and the knocking sounds that went on throughout the night I'm surprised I got even just the few hours of sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was surprised by how much I liked the hotel. It's nicer than other La Quinta's I've stayed in. The internet is fast, the rooms are modern and comfortable. It's just north of the main downtown area, but within walking distance. If you're a light sleeper, ask for an interior room because the street noise, especially in the morning, can be quite loud. […] Other than that, I had a great stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms are now absolutely fantastic looking! Right on State Street where everybody wants to be, shopping and restaurants and bars galore. Really like this hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Quaint boutique style hotel. Rooms have an upgraded feel to them. Perfect location to walk old town Santa Barbara. Pool was nice to lay by in the morning before check out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice update"
This hotel must have be updated recently because it's in really nice shape. It exceeded my expectations for a La Quinta. Very cute and modern. The location is just a bit out of the way, but it's a quick walk downtown or to the park with your kids.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great little place with excellent service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This La Quinta is fairly clean and conveniently located in Santa Barbara, especially at its price point. I stayed with LQ for the week while on a business trip, and overall had a positive experience. They seem to have recently renovated the hotel, so the facade and interior look more modern than other LQs. One of the biggest downsides was the incredibly […] noisy refrigerator in the room. It must be on its last leg because the motor was incredibly loud. I had to sleep with the TV on low to drown out the noisy refrigerator. Also, the room wasn't as clean as I hoped it would be––there were suspect brown splotches on the bathroom floor and the room's carpet could've used another vacuuming. "Not A Bad Option"
This is my second stay at LQ SB. It's a good choice because you can walk to the majority of State Street dining and shopping options from this location. Cons: heated pool, but no hot tub. If you are placed not in the main building but instead are in the separate strip of rooms (110 - 128), you are likely to hear street noise, including buses and other […] traffic. Breakfast is continental, which means LOTS of bagels, very sweetened yogurts, waffles, etc, but nothing with protein like eggs or sausage or even fruit salad. Rooms are clean (tho small), staff service has been consistently good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very clean, nicely appointed, pet friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Larger than expected room and bathroom and very clean. Bed extremely comfortable. Recent renovation was a definite plus. Very modern décor in common areas and in room. Breakfast was the usual LaQuinta breakfast and was very good. We would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"one complaint with the front desk"
Checking in on Sunday 3/30, I was asked to give a credit card for "incidentals" if there were to be one, I proceeded to give my M/C. However, on Checking-out Monday, around 11 a.m. I asked to have a receipt of $.00 balance, as I did not use the credit card for ANYTHING! Whatever we used in the hotel was ALL paid in cash. Therefore, I believe I should've […] been given a final $.00 Balance receipt. I was adamantly denied one by the front desk man. I susequently asked to speak with the manager. He insisted I did not have any balance as ALL purchases show as paid in CASH, and "they" do not give receipts with no balance. However, since "they" swiped my credit card when I came in, I wanted to make sure, there were no charges on my card. The man told me, I had to go through Hotels . com.....So, here it is....Can you please respond? Thank you....Miriam Corrigan Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Room appeared to be recently renovated, and nicely done. You would not have expected this modern a room based on the exterior of the hotel. Good location for SB business travel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Was in Santa Barbara for a wedding and although I've driven by La Quinta many times, have honestly not looked twice at it. Upon some research I did get a look at the lobby, pool and rooms and decided to give it a try. The place is under some construction, which is what it is, but found our stay and the staff to be very helpful and the overall vibe, […] charming. Still not much to look at from the road, but very pleased once inside the doors and would gladly revisit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location and comfy beds"
We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is only a few blocks up State Street from Paseo Nuevo and the best shopping and dining areas. The interior of our room was new and well kept and modern in decor. The bed was extremely comfy and the lay out was designed. The only qualm would be the sliding glass door, which didn't provide much privacy but […] we had a great stay and we got a great deal in February. I totally recommend this hotel! "Glad it was within walking distance of theatre"
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. My two complaints are the refrigerator is our room buzzed and the restroom door is a sliding glass door. It's sexy and beautiful but I need my privacy in the restroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best of them all"
I drove cross country & stay with La Quinta for my dog. This one is by far the nicest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Too noisy in the morning (6am-8am) from the garbage truck getting in and out of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close of courthouse"
I had personal business to tend to at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and my hotel stay was superb!! The breakfast was delicious to start off a busy day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was nice! The hotel is currently undergoing renovation which is the only reason I gave the hotel facility/condition a 3. Staff was nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

There is construction going on that stared at 7 am. It was horribly loud. Make sure construction is finished before stay. I had a new room and it was modern and beautifulGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice renovated hotel"
Stayed here for 4 nights over a December visit to California and was very pleased. There are a number of old motels in SB that are being renovated and this one is particularly nice, which a clean, bright boutique hotel look. The room is not huge, but the bathroom is particularly well done - spacious and nice looking. Nice TV, small fridge, the standard […] desk and chair, but also an arm chair and a very comfortable bed. The upper State St. location is a plus from my perspective - very quiet compared to the lower State scene, but still an easy walk from anything you'd want to do downtown. And you're well placed for a nice morning run up to the mission. There are some things you can't change in a hotel like this - the rooms open onto the exterior of the hotel, but it's really everything you'd need for a SB vacation and much nicer than the average two star hotel. I'd happily stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was great about our stay with the exception of the construction. I wish I knew that the hotel was under construction. Not noise I want to hear when on vaykayGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice newly remodeled rooms but:"
The room we had was newly remodeled and was very elegant and modern. However, excessive street noise woke us up at 6am. The WIFI was intermitant and unusable. Parking was limited due to construction and there are not enough spaces to accommodate all guests. Things should improve once remodeling is completedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were nice, however the shower head and handle we're not properly installed so they came off easily and water would go everywhere. There was construction going on so there was not enough parking for all the tenants, we had to park in the street. The breakfast was good, the design of the hotel was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service and rooms"
The staff is very helpful and friendly and the rooms were spacious, recently renovated, clean and very comfortable. Great value for your money. And, at the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. I will definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Customer service was very good and the bed was super comfortable! Just note that it is a good twenty minute walk to the center of SB/State St. It is a nice walk if you're not in a hurry (and why should you be in Santa Barbara?)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Renovated rooms. Late check out and nice breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
No drinking water in room, refrigerator in room sound so loud on and off waking me up all night , Good area easy to excess to shopping dinning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location to enjoy Santa Barbara"
This hotel is located toward top of State Street, with LOTS of shopping, restaurants, wine shops, etc in easy walking distance (the main shopping starts about a block down the street and continues for about a mile.) Or room was small (not even a table) and the bed was not the most comfortable but the hotel staff was helpful and friendly, everything […] was very clean, a simple breakfast is included and again, it's a GREAT location to enjoy Santa Barbara. Would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Outside door faced Cantwell's Market, so at 5am the delivery trucks showed up, and then the trash trucks. Remodel going on and nice, modern. Upscale bathroom and shower, but shower water pressure on floor three was very weak. But the beauty of Santa Barbara overshadowed any hotel negatives.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
