This hotel was very wonderful the only downfall was our room wasn't ready when we got there we had to wait 30 mins.Which we found was easy to do because the hotel is near a lot of little shops and places to eat. An early wake-up call from the room next door (3 am) baby crying non-stop prompted us to go in search at 6 am for good coffee. Upon our return and an effort at getting some zzzz's, the occupants were still very loud and disruptive. Our stay at Sea Breeze was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helped with information and the convenience of selling tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. My only complaint is that the bed in our room had perhaps the hardest, most unforgiving mattress I've ever slept on in my life. Everything else was very nice.

Very friendly, helpful front desk clerk, excellent and tasty muffins. Only stayed l night but relaxing and quiet, yet right on the trolley line. We would go back again next time and use the trolley to all the local activities (Monterey Aquarium, Asilomar state beach, Monterey boardwalk). They took an average drive thru motel entrance and re-designed […] it with outdoor firepit, sitting areas and garden areas. The only drawback was the pool/hot tub was across the street at the Sea Breeze Lodge - their other property. Our separate cottage with one comfortable queen bed was older, but fresh and clean, quiet, private and very relaxing. Good continental breakfast choices and bench seating area around fire feature. Enjoyed walking to nearby lighthouse and beach. Plan to return!

My wife and I like the Pacific Grove area, which is south, and adjacent to Monterey, CA. (I suppose that technically, Pacific Grove is a part of Monterey.) Anyway, the Sea Breeze Inn is where we like to stay, having stayed there three times, and at their cottages once; the cottages are literally across the street. The hotel is modest and unassuming, […] which is fine for us. Our most recent stay was April 1 through 3, 2012. When we arrived, the heater would not work, and a gap in the bottom door threshold was allowing the wind to whistle through, further stripping what little warmth we had. A call to the office yielded a fairly quick response from their maintenance man, who addressed both problems effectively. The continental breakfast- muffins, protein bars, cold cereal, juice, and coffee- is adequate. We have stayed in another facility down the street, but the Sea Breeze Inn is substantially better, in terms of appearance and upkeep. The reception staff are quite personable, friendly, and helpful. We will continue staying there during our future trips to Pacific Grove. Read more

Experience wildlife - ants everywhere! (sink, bathtub). Sleep by starlight - they lost power for a day. Rough it - heater was broken so they came up with a space heater instead of a new room. Staff was nice....

Me and a friend were touring the area and needed a place to stay. We found this one from expedia and glad to have stayed there. The room was well kept and clean. Breakfast consisted of fruit and muffins. The only complaint is when going to the pool/hot tub at 9 pm (closing time is 10 pm) we could find no lights so that we could see what we were doing. […] Most rooms were either single buildings or were connected to one or two others. We were in town to visit the aquarium and the hotel was less than 5 minutes away. It's in a nice neighborhood. It was quiet. Front-desk check in guy was nice and helpful. We stay in the off season, it makes it more affordable for us, it is comfortable 'enough' considering it is not a 5 star hotel/resort. It is modest but we like that we can bring a pet too if we like... We love that it is about 2 longish blocks to the beach, a nice walk & close to downtown Pacific Grove too (however a more ambitious walk)....... The cottages/rooms were clean and must have been recently refurbished. The shower could use some new tiles, but the floor, carpeting, walls and the rest were clean and refinished. Also found it odd that towel racks and fixtures were either very nice or kind of ratty - even in the same room. The small fridge was next to the heater and you could not […] open the drawers of the armoire without hitting the fridge. We didn't use it, so no big deal, but I'd probably lose the ugly little fridge or slowly replace them when the budget allows. The beds were nice and firm and the place appeared clean and orderly. We got a really good deal and would stay there again for the convenience and price. In most cases we are looking for a nice, clean place to relax when come home to at night and night a resort, which is what more and more people expect from lodgings. Read more

My stay at the Sea Breeze was OK. The staff was very cordial and helpful. My only complaint was that I could literally hear everything from the guest next door. I mean everything!!! That did not make for a relaxing weekend. However, once I complained to management their loud noises stopped.

I have stayed at the Sea Breeze Inn and Cottages numerous times and will keep going back. I love it! The location is perfect - I can walk to the beach, walk to downtown Pacific Grove for dining and shopping - but it is quiet and peaceful. They have been steadily renovating the rooms - luxury beds, linens, etc., but the price is still wonderfully affordable. […] This visit free wifi had been added. Hotel was located just a short 10 minutes from cannery row and was a pleasant surprise. The room was a small cottage but decorated very nicely. Bed and mattress as good, bathroom was small.
