I stayed in Hotel Compostela for one week, and was very happy with the place. The room was pleasant, bed was good and it had an overall clean feeling. The staff was friendly and helpful, and spoke willingly English with me. I would go back to the hotel, should I go back to Santiago. The hotel was just on the door step to the old town, and all the attractions […] were in easy reach. The property was in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good. My only comment is I wish I had been provided another bar of soap in our room for the 3 days stay for the 2 of us. I would highly recommend this properly.

We walked the Camino de Santiago and wanted a nice hotel to rest and recoup. The Compostela was perfect! It was a short 8-minute walk from the Cathedral - close enough for convenience but out of the hectic tourist crowds. A great find! The hotel looks old and outdated from the outside. Imagine our surprise when we walk in and find ourselved in a modern-minimalist environment! This hotel is situated in the very heart of Santiago and is a suitable location for seeing the main sites- the Cathedral etc. Nearby you have access to the bus-stop for the airport, numerous cafés, restaurants, shops and there's also a Burger King if you arrive late and find places are closed. This is modern and well-decorated hotel close to all of the main attractions in the city. The thing that lets it down is the lack of room service. You can only order-in during normal restaurant hours which is not so helpful if you arrive late at night or during the afternoon. I was cold and wet on arrival and just wanted to relax in my room, eat a sandwich […] and relax for a few hours. Very good modern hotel. There was no food except at breakfast, but this was no problem because there are so many excellent eating places within a few minutes easy walk of the hotel. Hotel staff were very helpful and advised on local sites and many eating places. Be warned - many of the rooms lack natural light with only a very small window positioned very high up in the room. The stark, modern decor will not be to everyone's taste. It was not to ours. Unless you are lucky enough to be put on the 4th floor (we got our room changed) you will find you are negotiating your way around the corridors that are horribly […] dark: the automatic lighting is slow to respond. The whole place feels very impersonal - like an airport. There were silly things, too, which let the place down: the safe in our room didn't work and the shower had to be fixed on the first day, and the room looked as if it hadn't been recently dusted. On the plus side: the manageress was superb and one of the reception staff was especially willing; the rest of the reception staff were poor and one was downright rude when there was a crisis one night with many guests complaining because an alarm had gone off and we could not sleep for the noise. This particular character lost his cool completely, insisted he could not understand anyone who did no speak Spanish and would do nothing until, fortunately, some Spanish guests made very forceful complaints. We loved Santiago de Compostella - it is a beautiful city - but we were disappointed with this 4 star hotel. Read more

Estupenda ubicación. El hotel limpio y muy cómodo, el desayuno de buena calidad y variado. No tiene parking pero hay uno público justo enfrente por 12 € al día. Volvería encantada.
