"Great Location, excellent staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed here on our honeymoon, couldn't have asked for a better place for the money. The staff was extremely helpful with speedy check in/out. Concierge staff was on their A game the entire time. Room was cleaned daily and very comfortable. The bar was nice but a bit expensive ( but that's London). Vauxhall tube station is only a five minute walk which isn't bad at all. There is a grocery store next door that has about everything you need. Was a great stay.

see all hotels in London"clean, near tube and food, nice bathroom, no desk"
My title sums it up largely. The room was clean, nice tube and Hyde/Kensington park/palace, lots of places to eat nearby, the bathroom was nice and the desk had the depth of a laptop and it not workable. Also, wi-fi is free only in the lobby. I paid for the wi-fi in-room, but this only works for one device poor room. (so i couldn't use my laptop with […] it once i register it by logging on with my iphone in the first instance). really convenient location though, just a couple of hundred yards from Bayswater tube station. "Great Location"
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel - great location close to two Tube stops and good surrounding area for resturants and some shopping. Rooms were small, bathrooms very small - could have used a little more cleaning, but for the price it was terrific
"Happy traveler."
Great hotel for the price. Would stay again.

"Small, Cramped room in great location"
This is possibly the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. Even the bed was a smaller size than the standard US twin. This is fine if you are a tea-cup sized person or a child, but everyone else should know that if you book a single room, you might not be able to move in the bed and/or stand up all the way (ceiling height was also a concern). Having […] requested a quiet room, I was surprised to be placed by the elevator and even more disturbed to hear the opening and closing of the elevator doors all night long. Everytime the elevator was used on any floor, I heard a sound similar to a chair dragging across a wood floor overhead. After listening to it for an hour, I realized it was the elevator. I was very dissappointed in the front desk's lack of concern when I told them about the noise the next day. Simply for the value and the location, I might actually choose this hotel again if there weren't better options, but I would pay more for a double room. Better yet, I would look for a pricier but more comfortable option elsewhere. It's worth the $ for a well-rested opportunity to enjoy London without aches, pains, and grogginess from attempting to sleep in a mini-bed in a mini-room. Other than that, I found it to be an excellent location very close to the Bayswater Underground Station, easy to get there from Paddington Station and near lots of restaurants. The afternoon desk staff were helpful with area directions. There is free wireless, but ONLY in the lobby, and although the lobby carpet is looking pretty mangy, the room was in decent shape and very clean. Read more
Good location, close to many restaurants, Kensington Gardens, 20 minute tube ride to central. Room was small but that's what we were looking for. Only complaint was late check in time was not accommodating to an early flight arrival. Overall good experience!
"Nice hotel in great Notting Hill location"
Very nice typical small European-style hotel. Clean, quiet, good location, easy to and from nearby Bayside Tube station. Half a block away from a renovated four-story shopping mall/arcade with Cinema. Near reasonably-priced restaurants. Within an easy walk to original Ottolenghi. Wish Wi-Fi was free, but that's a luxury you don't always find in Eur […] ope Read more
The shower didn't work and when we called maintenance, they asked if we really needed to use it. The staff had very little knowledge of London and spoke broken English. They told us to come back the next day and ask different staff members for assistance. If you pay for extras with your credit card, they charge a service charge.
"Stayed from 2/13-2/16"
I just stayed at the London House this past week and I was overall satisfied with my stay. This is a no-frills hotel, clean, in a good area, near lots of restaurants and 3 tube stations (Queensway, Bayswater, Notting Hill). My only complaint is that the staff was pretty unfriendly and that the rooms are small. If you don't care about rude workers at […] the front desk who will ignore you if you stand there, then this is the place for you. It didn't matter to me that the room wasn't huge. (You're in London. How much time are you really spending in the room?) I felt that I got a really good deal on this hotel and would stay here again. Read more
"Cheap and good neighborhood"
Close to Baywater station, which means couple of minutes with the tube from all interesting places in central London. It's clean and the room is OK but floors are a bit noisy, or maybe I was just unlucky; neighborhood has a good variety of restaurants open late.
"Small but clean"
I had a twin room that had just enough room for 2 twin beds a closet with a safe and a bathroom. The hotel was clean, quiet and close to transportation, shops and restaurants. It was convient, clean and nice but not a show stopper.
the worst hotel i ever stayed, the bed is to small for grown person to sleep in with comfort. the bed is kids bed, bathroom towels not changed daily, poor service.
"London House Hotel - Good Value"
Found this Hotel to be a good value. Clean. Comfortable. Good location and easy to get to from airport by train. Lots of places to eat close by. Very helpful staff.

"London House Hotel - Excellent location"
In London for a 1-day conference, I decided to stay at the London House Hotel due to its proximity to the conference venue and the overall value. It was only 4miles away and very easily accessible by tube, with two stations (Bayswater & Queensway) within a couple of blocks from the hotel. Very near to the hotel is Queensway which is packed with souvenir […] shops, restaurants of all kinds and even a mall just around the corner from the hotel. The staff was excellent and very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. Traveling to London and other european cities, I've grown used to small hotel rooms but first-timers beware if you're expecting an "American size room". The cons would be the paper thin walls, limited TV channels selection, no toiletries available (toothbrush or paste) and the WIFI which is only free at the lounge area but a £1 per hr charge applies in-room. Overall, I would stay there again as the location is easily accessible from the airport and within the city, great middle eastern restaurant called Halal (try the curry chicken), friendly staff, several tube stations within 2-4 blocks and safe neighborhood. "Small rooms but great value"
Small hotels in Europe have small rooms, and the London House Hotel is no exception. These are not for you if you intend to work in your room, for instance, but if you just intend to sleep there and spend the rest of the day in the city, they are fine, impeccably clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed (not always the case in many small hotels), and all […] what you need: a hair dryer, nice plush big towels, and basic toiletries. To charge for in-room Wi Fi in this day and age seems a little greedy, however, especially when it has to be renewed every day. The continental breakfast buffet is fine for the price. For more food, one can just go one block away, on Queensway, where there is an impressive collection of affordable restaurants, from traditional pubs to French, Italian, Chinese, Lebanese, Moroccan and other eateries, and for the discriminating gourmet, even McDonald's, Burger King and KFC! there is also a Boots (the excellent British pharmacy chain), and even a mall. There are two tube stations a few blocks away, the proximity of Kensington Gardens (just cross the park, and you are at the Victoria and Albert), and the tube takes you to Paddington Station just one stop away. This makes it a perfect location. The modern amenities give the hotel a spartan Danish look, but everything is clean, well maintained, the lift is large enough to accommodate two or three persons with their suitcases, and the personnel is pleasant and competent. I would recommend it. Read more
"the london house"
this hotel was in a good location however, i would never recommend this hotel. The lobby was unfriendly the desk agents were not very helpful especially the evening staff, the rooms were very small, the beds were on coasters so the single beds (two in a room) kept sliding and you could not move around in the bed as it kept sliding. The bedding two did […] not feel clean. our room was in the basement, stayed one only and could not wait to leave. never again! Read more
After reading reviews of many other London hotels, I feared that I would not be able find a clean and comfortable London hotel in a good location. I was happy to find the London House hotel. "London House Hotel"
Great hotel. Convenient to tube as well as Hyde Park. Many good resturants within walking distance. Very clean and well kept.
"Very nice and affordable"
Clean, good water pressure, comfortable bed. Those are the main things I look for in a hotel and London House was even better. Had a fridge and safe in my room free of charge and as small as the room was there were enough places to put a week's worth of clothes and more away and be able to walk around comfortably. Good internet connection for a fair […] price. Friendly 24 hour staff. Good neighborhood with plenty of food/shopping options around. Close to Bayswater/Queensway and Paddington Underground stops which was extremely convenient. I was in town alone and always felt safe at the hotel and within the neighborhood. But the rooms are small- if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room and are claustrophobic... look elsewhere. I'm not at all and enjoyed my time at this hotel. Read more

Stayed for a week and though room is your typical child's bedroom size, worked well and conveniently located to tube and restraurants and stores. my bathroom was so small that i couldn't wash my face or brush my teeth and aim my face close enough to the wall for the water to not pour all over my feet. "Great hotel for the price."
If you are looking for a hotel in a good location at a great price with friendly, helpful service, this is the one. Nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. Our room was actually a little roomier than I expected. The hotel has apparently been renovated recently so it seems to be in good repair. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. I also can't […] say enough about the friendly courteous staff. Everyone was very willing to help itch information and advice for all our needs. This hotel is also located within walking distance of 2 tube stations on different lines. This was a huge plus if you know anything about the London Underground. Bayswater Station was 3-5 minutes walk and was on the Circle and District lines. If you walked another 5 minutes you were at the Queensway Station which is on the Central Line. This saved us a lot of travel time to and from sites depending on where you needed to get off. Read more
"Great Location"
I had a twin bed room, so the room itself (and shower) were small, but the towels were enormous and fluffy, the water was hot, the bed was very comfortable, and the place was spotless. I was a block away from the action but my street was very quiet and felt residential. It was a 5 minute walk to Notting Hill and all its attractions, and is located on […] the Circle line, an easy to use line on the Underground. The free wireless in the lounge was a nice touch so I could get online and catch up on things before going out for the day and then again before bedtime. The staff was very courteous and attentive. "Small, but great!"
Free wifi in lobby. Small rooms, but if you are only there to sleep, no problem!
"Good value"
The London House Hotel is a great value for the price. It had convenient access to 2 different tube stations, making it easy to get around London. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful. All around, a great option for the price!
"London House - Good choice near Paddington"
Anyone who has tried to find decent places near Paddington knows there are a lot of tired, run-down pieces of junk out there. Pictures on the web always show a handsome facade, but the rooms can be beyond dreadful. Taken in this context, London House is a very good choice. The lobby is quite large, clean and modern, with free internet. My room was newly […] renovated, a pretty good size, and quiet. The hotel is a little west of Queensway, so it is not as close to Paddington as some others, but it is a very good choice. Lot's of good restaurants on Queensway. Read more

"London House in London England- good value"
The hotel was very clean and had very comfortable beds, room was small but standard for England. Air conditioner worked almost too well. Good value for the price, albeit hotels in London are off the charts. Stayed in the family room downstairs; did not eat breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on food. Very close to a Tube stop (3 minute walk […] ). Read more
"Great location, comfort stay"
The hotel has good location, there are lots of shopping and restaurants around. The hotel has been newly renovated. We requested a room for 4 pax, It was spacious with 1 dble and 2 single beds. Although the bathroom is a bit of small, and lack of tables which made eating or drinking within the room very inconvenient. The room is clean and staff is very […] helpful and friendly. Overall, very please with the stay. Read more
"Penny wise & dollar foolish!"
The hotel was adequate and well located for London sightseeing. Tube 2 blocks away. However, they nickle and dime you to death. There no free wifi which we needed to check things back in US. They want money to use theirs! When we did to print out boarding passes there is no printer! You have to save the stuff to some sort of file and email the file […] to the front desk! Then what prints out is 20 pages of worthless garbage! The room a/c shuts itself off automatically after so many hours of use. Room gets very stuffy so you wake up and turn it back on. Windows open but next to adjoining rooms with zero security, so windows must be kept closed. TV is only a few free BBC stations. They wanted about $10 USD for canned fruit salad and dry cereal for breakfast! Great places just around the corner. Skip their breakfast & go local!! Read more
"Clean, but something was missing"
Great location, but the staff was not entirely helpful. The rooms were verrrrry small as were the bathrooms. Everything was an additional cost there, which made things a bit more complicated. Plus, the beds were more like cots than mattresses. If you need some place clean that is close to the Tube, this is fine. However, I would never recommend it to […] anyone. Read more
"london house hotel-very small rooms"
Shockingly tiny rooms! Good service, clean. Nice stuff. Very narrow beds though. Not planning on coming back to this place.
"Great Place to Stay"
The staff was helpful in giving directions. They were nice. The rooms are so cute and clean. It was modern and we paid little for a great stay. I would tell everyone to stay here.
"Nice Hotel"
Room was pretty small, but it was clean and comfortable. Front desk was very helpful. They have free WIFI, but having no laptop I used the pay computer which did not work well at all. Breakfast is 6 pounds for a continental, which was easy but I thought pricey for what you get.
"Small room, fair price"
This hotel is near the Bayswater underground station, the neighborhood is noisy. The hotel gave us a really quiet room which was very small but adequate. (no chair to sit and read) You can pay a little more for a bigger room. The concierge was very helpful in directing us, setting up for a taxi, giving us a wake up call, etc and was kind enough not to […] charge us for a lost room card.. For a few pounds you can do a small load of laundry. The provided internet service is a few pence for 15 minutes, the service is slow. WiFi coverage is spotty in the hotel. Our window did open and the A/ worked. Nice clean and modern bathroom. Read more
"London House Hotel"
Unfriendly staff with exception of bell hop who was always cheerful and helpful. Room was tiny and very stuffy. Had to pay to use internet in lounge. Internet service slow and inefficient. We would not recommend this hotel and will find other accommodations for our next visit.
"London House Hotel"
Dreadful front desk personnel. Very rude and unaccomodating. Rooms were the size of a postage stamp and the condition of the facility is sub-par. Would NEVER stay here again.
"great location, comfort and great staff"
Very comfortable stay. Has a small fridge, a/c, dryer, safety box. Easy access to tube station, lots of restaurants close by. However, rate is expensive.
"One Night in London for the Theater"
Clean, nicely updated and affordable. The room was a bit small, but I'm not complaining. I would return again...which says it all.
The room is VERY tiny, but has everything you need (i.e. frige, air conditioner, shower, toilet). Considering the location and London, I believe it is good price. This will not be a hotel for you if you need space.
"London House Hotel."
We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The staff was very hospitable. The room was no frills, but the bathroom was clean and fairly spacious. Bayswater was rather bustling and urban, but the other side of the neighborhood, Notting Hill, was great with lots of restaurants and shops. Television had very few channels and wireless internet was extra. I would […] consider staying here again. Good value for the buck! Read more

"London House Hotel - great location to see London"
Clean reasonably priced hotel in a very convenient location to catch underground to central London. Rooms are small but sufficient, not much reason to stay in room with all there is to do in the local area. Good shopping and plenty of food options within short walk.
