The hotel is wonderful roomy, great customer service. The parking garage alittle confusing at first and limited height clearance, check it out if you have a dually. You can hear the traffic when tvs off but not bad. Had a balcony suite like was like an apartment. Would go back again.

This hotel is enormous, comprising two buildings on opposite sides of the street. The location is great; it's right on the river and right next to the Muhammed Ali Museum and other downtown attractions. Besides their location, the hotel has no other above average qualities. The rooms look like they haven't been remodeled since the early 90's and I felt like I had walked into low-rent Holiday Inn.

My daughter and I were in Louisille to see the Nutcracker as my daughter studied with Lousiville Ballet. Staying at The Galt House is phenomenal. We were upgraded to a suite for free. The room is spacious, and extremely clean. There are 4 - 5 restaurants within the hotel - several with views of the Ohio river. The food for a hotel was also extremely good - if you go to the Magnolia Cafe - I strongly recommend the Hot Brown - a Kentucky tradition. If you're attending an event at the Kentucky Center for the performing arts, you can easily walk to the theater, and save yourself re-parking. Excellent experience in absolutely everyway!

We really really loved this hotel. We stayed in the suite tower for three nights. The room was huge, totally seperate living room, wet bar, two tv's etc. Coming from Seattle all the rates seemed reasonable but this was an absolute steal. You can walk anywhere downtown from here, museums, Louisville Slugger, 4th St Live, the restaurants are all excellent and the staff was polite and very helpful. Awesome steakhouse (Jeff Ruby's) on the ground floor. I won't even consider another hotel next trip down here.

The Galt House has alot to offer for anyone traveling to Louisville. We were only in for a one night stay and would have loved to have been able to spend more time just relaxing at the hotel lounges, restaurant, pool & fitness center. However, it is so close to the downtown nightlife, we had to take in a free concert @ 4th street live. The rooms are so spacious, you could just stay in and call up room service. Either way you will probably want to come back and stay on your next visit. We will see you when we come back.

The hotel was right on the river. Great location because it was close to the museums, parks, restaurants, and entertainment downtown. The rooms were large and well decorated. the HVAC system worked very well. Many restaurant/lounges in the hotel. Things needing improvement. 1. Signs to get to the hotel and ts parking were not good. 2. The pool is outdoors and not heated, at least that is what I was told. 3. Got double charged for a drink at the pool bar. 4. The hotel is divded into two sides and one side does not have check-in, business center, concierge, doorman, and valet.

If you are looking for a great getaway, business trip or just someplace to hang your hat, this Hotel is the place for you. Its right on the river and we had a nice river view even though we were on the inside street of the hotel looking at the other tower. The room was immaculately clean, open and spacious. Everything we could ask for was in this hotel. Great dining, beautiful pool overlooking the river and just an all around classy place to be. The information booth representatives were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It didn't matter what questions you had, they had the answer. Very professional and courteous. The only drawback we had was the elevators. It was hard to get on one, because they would be too full. We loved being there! We definately would stay here again! :o)

The Galt House was a good choice for our recent stay in Louisville, within easy walking distance of the museums, good restaurants, and Actor's Theater on Main Street, and a great view over the Ohio River. We also liked that it was right next to where the Belle of Louisville is docked, making it very easy for us to take a sightseeing cruise. We got a great price on a large, comfortable suite (bedroom and sitting room with a sofa bed), which was nice to have, since our son was traveling with us, and it gave us some privacy. It also had an extra sink and mini-fridge. The only downside of the location is the highway right next to the hotel on the river side; the traffic noise was somewhat disruptive when trying to sleep. Our room was on the end of the hotel near the river, so we got the nice view, but also the noise.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel when we came in town for my 20th High School reunion. I chose this hotel because of the great deal that Hotel.com offered, and because of the location. I read a lot of the comments from other guests even the not so great reviews because I wanted to be fully prepared. Well, I found this hotel to be full of charm, beauty, extremely helpful and courteous staff and over-all a very nice hotel. Yes, the beds were firm, but that's what I like. Yes, there are updates that could be done, but in my opinion, they are minor. I loved the decor, I loved the convenience, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.
