The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.

The location of this place is great (right next to Rialto bridge) which makes almost everything in Venice an easy walk. Room was smallish with some amount of street noise but not too much. Breakfast was good with a nice tasty selection. One disappointment was that wi-fi internet acess was not included in the room price and the price was about 20 Euros per day (minimum charge) which is somewhat ridiculous.

This was a quaint little hotel with a great location directly between St. Mark's and the Rialto Bridge. The front desk spoke English well and were helpful with advice and followed through on our 3am wake-up call. The room was clean and decorated in traditional Venice style. With the high prices of Venice hotels, this hotel is very reasonable for what you get.

Stayed here for four nights May, 2009. Great location, pleasant dining room, excellent breakfast and the shower unit had, unusually for a hotel of this standard, a proper power shower. But what about Room 58. One realises that one gets what one pays for but to describe this "room" as a Superior Double was a serious abuse of language. It had the appearance and lay-out of a converted corridor. One shudders to think what the lesser Classic Rooms were like.

Even though we paid before we went, we were presented with a bill on check out. We were billed for a double economy (we paid for a double superior) and for items from the refrigerator that we did not take. We had to go to the lobby to get toilet paper because it was not restocked and we ran out. We also had to go get soap which we ran out of, but then found a used bar of soap on the shower door frame later on. (gross). Two people could not walk by the foot of the bed at the same time and the shower was the smallest one I had ever seen or used (we travel around the world and have seen a lot of things). The computer is broken a lot at the front desk. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was great, though looking back we wished we had stayed across the street or at the hotel a few doors down. Breakfast was nice with cereals, fruits, pastries, and cheese slices. I would not come back to this hotel.

We had room #27 which got noise from both the 'street' and also shared a wall with the breakfast room. That coupled with the most uncomfortable pillow I have had in a long time made for not a great nights sleep. The breakfast was ok and the location was good. 5 minutes from St Mark's and Rialto Bridge. Venice is very expensive and touristy. I recommend only staying for a night or 2 max.

This was our first visit to Venice and so we wanted to see all the highlights that the city has to offer. The location of this hotel was perfect for this. We stated in room number 45 on the second floor and it was very quiet, apart from a heavy snorer in the next room which we could hear due to the thin walls! This didn't bother us much though! Our room was perfectly adequate with a small verandah to look out from - you could watch the gondolas going by which was lovely! The breakfast was very nice - the usual continental variety of meat, cheese, breads, croissants, cereals and they brought fresh supplies out right up until 10.25 and breakfast finished at 10.30! I felt that 2 full and one half day was enough to see the sights which we had intended - Basilica, Doge's Palace, a ride on a gondola, up the Campanile (a must for the panoramic view but don't go at 12 midday like we did when they rang the 5 bells - deafening!!) the Rialto Market and just generally wandering around the streets getting lost!! Rialto Bridge is magical! The only complaint I have is that although we had asked for breakfast at 6am due to us leaving early for our flight they had not prepared anything for us. All in all a brilliant hotel in a fantastic location - and a trip which has given magical memories for ever. Everyone should visit Venice!

But we were moved the following morning to room 34, a clean, white-walled room, with no smell! Perfectly comfortable, and worth 4's all round. Plus a complimentary bottle of prosecco and biscuits when we returned that evening. Breakfast was minimal, better off going out and getting some fruit beakers or cakes elsewhere. Perfect location though, very close to San Marco and the Rialto bridge if you can find your way through the narrow windy streets! Overall I'd recommend the hotel if you can check your room first!

Literally get off the water taxi or bus at the Rialto bridge and walk the 4 mins to the hotel which is smack bang between the Rialto Bridge and Saint Marks Square. I booked this Hotel for an extended weekend stay for our 5 year anniversary. The great reviews convinced me and I was not disappointed. The hotel is easy to find and in a very central location. It takes about 5 minutes to get to St. Marks or Rialto bridge from there. There is plenty of great restaurants and shops just down the street and while all the little alleys can be confusing the map supplied by the hotel makes it fairly easy to navigate through Venice. The hotel is very nice and the rooms very quiet. The staff is very professional and nice and our room was spotless every day. The included breakfast was a great way to start our days and was way better than I had expected. There is only two criticism I have and they are very minor: 1. The internet provided even the public pc was not free. 45 cents per minute or for the wireless 20 Euros a day or 8 Euros an hour. In this modern day and age I would expect at least some form of free internet even if it is just a public pc like the one provided. We always check in online for our flights the night before and to have to pay to do that just seems a little silly. 2. The pillows were very, very, very firm but that would only be a problem for some people. So if you like a fluffy pillow bring your own. I would definitely stay there again but I doubt we will ever go back to Venice. So you should stay there instead.
