Northview Inn and Suites - Huntington

The spa/Jacuzzi was out of commission so that was unfortunate but the kids loved the pool. Wish they had queen size beds instead of fulls but so be it. We were satisfied overall.

Place was alright. Took 5min to get in my room because the handle was all messed up. Had to pull door in and then lift handle up to gain entrance. Service wasn't very helpful- went down and asked if I could quickly borrow a pair of scissors and all I got was a "well we used to have a pair.. Don't know where they are.. Sorry about that".

The heater / air conditioner has a "more hot" to "more cool" spin dial making you get up all night until you find the right temperature. The TV was an older CRT with a green tint. The bathtub had obvious and poorly done fiberglass repairs.

At check-in, there was no one at the desk (about 5:00 p.m.) and one of the guests checking in ahead of me had to look for someone to tend the desk. The girl on desk duty was in a nearby room folding towels (or some laundry type task) and was not monitoring the desk for customer arrivals. Had no one looked for the desk attendant, who knows how long we […] would have waited for service? Once she arrived at the desk to complete our check-in, she did not even offer an apology for keeping us waiting or attempt to greet us in any manner. She seemed almost put out to be interrupted, or at the very least, could not have cared less that we had arrived. Very unprofessional. the bed was hard, the pillows were flat. It is very minimal hotel we should have saved the extra $30.00 a night and stayed at hotel 8. The staff was nice and helpful, but the accommodations were cheep.

The location was nice and I was concerned about being next to the movie theater but that was not an issue. You can see the sign for Wal-Mart from the parking lot and it is just a short distance away. This hotel was quiet and nice. All staff was very nice and took care of all our needs. The hotel does not have a business center but does have a few tables […] that you can sit at and do your work if you need that. Their breakfast is ok. The pool and hot tub was clean and nice. Bed was not very comfy - after 2 nights my back was very, very stiff. The room was clean and plenty roomy, however we were stuck in a smoking room - the room and the hall smelled like a dirty ashtray - we burnt a candle anytime we were in the room. The pool and hot tub were A+++ This is the first hotel I have stayed in that actually had a WARM pool!! […] Super clean and big. I didn't like the 10pm pool closure - we could see the pool and NOTHING was done with it from 10 - 12 (when we went to bed) so there was no reason to keep the guests from using it. Great location...close to Walmart and a movie theater. Continental b-fast was very basic...(sufficient) if you're not looking for a huge meal. pool areqa was fine but we were asked to exit the pool area during a store. Our overall opinion is that this hotel is a great stay for the price. We would stay here again if need be.

It is off the highway and there are no sign letting you know that it is there but for the price, that can be over looked. Staff was friendly, and the over all appearance of the hotel was clean. I was not pleased on our last night to find a baby bottle on the floor in between the bed and the wall. We didn't have any children with us! We thought we had […] dropped something on that side of the bed and I ran my foot down along the bottom of the bed and this baby bottle with juice inside came rolling out. The breakfast, although free, leaves much to be desired. I chose a mochachinno and got regular coffee from the machine, the gravy for biscuits looked like it had sat there overnight, the bagels were tough and muffins were so small it wasnt worth trying. For the price, it is a nice, cheap, semi clean hotel but I do recommend checking the floor around your bed. Read more

The pool was nice, not a deep pool, with the deep end only being 5 ft, but my 5 year old loved it. They moved our room away from a 16 year old birthday party that took up 3 rooms next to our room, that was a nice touch. The breakfast was a little less than other hotels we stayed in.

Not really up to the standards we have experienced in this hotel in the past. Somewhat dingy with security doors propped open. Lousy TV reception. Next stay was in a Days Inn which was superior, so that should give you some idea of quality.

When we got to our room, we turned on the air conditioner and it would not cool past its own area. The TV was so dark that we could not see the characters. We told the front office person and she had housekeeping fix it while we were out for the evening. She said the air conditioner had to be "unplugged and plugged in again to work". The TV was better […] but not good. The hallway had clumps of dirt in it both when we arrived and when we went out for dinner. The clerk said that the manager was out of town and the maintenance person was "off for the week-end". We felt like we would never recommend this hotel and would, instead, tell people not to use it.
