We initially had a room that was lovely, but had no sound barriers, and unlucky for us, we were at the beginning of the corridor which was housing a team of highschool baseball players. It is abit out in the middle of nowhere but that is what makes for the views out of the hotel. It is an older hotel that has been maintained and has large rooms. We were happy with our choice for a long weekend getaway. Would stay here again.

We were looking for a place to stay that was closer to Traverse City where we spent most of our time. This was not the place to stay. It took between 45 minutes and an hour to get to Traverse City depending on whether it was day or night. Roads were dark and windy so we took an alternate route at night which took longer. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. All the furnishings were up to date and looked like they were fairly new. We felt limited to where we could go to eat because we were at least 15 minutes away from the closest town. The outside pool did not have any lights so we could not enjoy it as we had planned and the directions to the pool […] from our room were not well posted. Had the King Studio suite, would highly recommend. Room was large, bedding very good quality, large deck overlooking the ski run. Ordered in room service several times as we had a very long, large dining table and the food was very good and took less time than if we had gone to their restaurant. Wanted to spend one day at the beach so we tried Torch […] Lake public beach, but there is no beach; drove north to Fisherman's Island State Park, sandy beach but rocky along the shore. The views were beautiful and the grounds were lovely. It is a rather "remote" location, so if you're not golfing or skiing, it is rather far from larger towns like Traverse City or Petoskey. Though it is centrally located.

We stayed at the summit village and had booked a king studio. We arrived late, close to midnight and when we got to our room, it was a room with two double beds. I called Dale at the front desk and we arranged to move to a king room in the morning. When I went to the front desk in the morning, Dale had booked us in a one room condo! The staff and service was very good. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. It was only my wife and myself on this trip, but there were plenty of family activities offered. The only thing was that there was a musty smell in the room.

The hotel should designate an area where the balconies of the rooms that face a certain direction are truly smoke-free. There were so many smokers outside that I could not enjoy my balcony. Ghost town. I'm guessing there's more activity during skiing or golfing season, and I was in between. There was no breakfast other than sit-down for a charge, but the biggest thing is that the water pressure in the shower was VERY weak. That was a major letdown following a long day of physical activity. They need a new water pump!

Even though we got this hotel at a discounted rate it still wasn't worth the price. I've heard other people say it was hard to find, which is true. They had plenty of signs EXCEPT at the entrance of thier drive. We drove past it twice. The hotel looks like it hasn't been updated in 20 years, although the baths were updated. The lodge was beautiful and well maintained. The lodge restuarant's food was fabulous. Our suite was huge, beautiful, new furniture, comfortable bed and huge patio overlooking the ski slope at the summit and breathtaking landscape. The room and lodge was way above our expectations for the cost.

Very clean, comfortable room. Very close to our destination. We all slept well. Nice clean pool area. Only complaint was with ordering of a crib for our infant. Asked for it at 4:30 pm and had to call back at 10:00 pm before it was delivered so we could move him from our bed so we could lay down. Otherwise, extremely satisfied with stay.

The location was not exactly what we wanted but, it was such a nice experience that in the end, we were happy to have stayed there. The service, room and golf experience were perfect. We have almost always feen greeted with "golf snobbery" when the five of us try to play up north. Cart issues, not enough sets of club(3), no collared shirts, etc... I would of been better of sleeping in my car, at least I know it was clean. Hotel was not cleaned, blanket and lamp shad both had holes, toilet and tub was not clean, stained with I not sure. The location is beautiful overlooking the hills and lake as long as you are on the south side of the hotel. People were freindly, rooms were adequate, but overal maintenance of the facility is really lacking. Metal roof flashing swinging in the breeze, wood rotting, and a few ants crawling across the bedroom floor definately detract from the surrounding […] beauty. Drunk teenagers out front of the lobby one evening offering my wife and I marijuana kinda put the icing on the cake (just spoiled kids the parents let get away with too much). But, we made the best of it since it was a short 2 day stay in that location with last minute planning. Hotel staff (Michael at the restuarant) was very freindly, and helpful. The hotel seemed to show only 5 or 6 rooms available, but for as big as this place is, and as few people that were there, I find it hard to believe this was not just a marketing ploy It did seem to fill up when we checked out Friday. I should add that this did have the largest and most well equipped fittness center of any hotel I have been to with respect to nautilus and free weights. Read more

I was there on the off season on business and it was quite and comfortable. I didn't use any of the new fitness facilieties but they looked very nice. Only issue was that the signage to get there is horrible. Print a map so you can find it.
