This place sucks! It gives dive/cheap hotels a bad name! Dirty, old, not maintained, and dingy/dark. I would never stay here or this chain again.

Easily my worst motel experience ever. We check in late evening and head for our room, there are people hanging out by our room that wouldn't move so we could get by with our bags. Room is 95 degrees, AC off, and room smells like smoke. Toilet had dried urine on lid and bowl from previous occupant. Tub not clean. One fourth a roll of toilet paper left […] with no new roll anywhere in sight. No alarm clock or box of tissues. Towels smelled clean but most had dark stains. After first night, went to lobby at 9 am for toilet paper and more towels. No continental breakfast. Desk clerk said room serv will clean room soon. Left for the day, returned 11 pm to find TP almost gone and no new roll anywhere. Urine stains mentioned previously still on toilet. Towels restocked. Went to lobby to mention toilet not cleaned and ask for a roll of TP. Clerk mentioned room was cleaned by staff. I disagreed and asked again for a roll of TP. Clerk got defensive and was not at all polite but gave me the toilet paper. I thought about asking for a partial refund, but decided since charge was already on my c-card, it would be difficult to get them to run a credit on it. This motel had a 1.5 star rating out of 5 stars when I booked room. I would not even give it 1 star. I have stayed in rooms that were two-thirds the cost and were 5 times cleaner. Price was high compared to other Hotels during this trip. Room had dirty towels as if it had been used but not cleaned. We also had to get clean towels from front desk. Biggest problem was the panhandlers "on the second floor".

I'm sorry we could not give a better review. For the price we were quoted we expected more. We were told there was a hot breakfast..not so.. corn flakes and do-nuts. Also no clock in room, no coffee maker. We needed and had requested a cot for adult daughter,after looking ot the room realized there was no way a cot would fit in and we had to make other […] arrangements for her. Did not resemble anything like the web site. Cigarette burns in blankets, bed cover and drapes. No fitted sheet, just a loose flat sheet on mattress. Good thing we had our own blanket and a pillow with us in car. No remote for tv, no clock/radio. Bathroom shower and shower curtain was all moldy, shower mat on tub floor was falling apart. The pillows were awful, but the bed was somewhat comfortable. This is an old building and in need of rennovation. The front desk clerk was very pleasant. The decor was very dated. Bathroom sink had cig burns and the furniture was damaged. For the price, it's probably acceptable.

I wasn't looking for the Ritz Carlton, just a place to stay for two days for SIU orientation. Staff was friendly but the place is disgusting. The promised coffee at 7:00 a.m. does not exist because it is "winter." The telephone in the room does not work, the family staff resents your waking them up, and the towels and linens are what I save for cleaning. I even had to clean up the bathtub before using.

1st - we had a confirmed reservation for 2 full size beds and when we get there they said they only had 1 bed. We showed our confirmed e-mail and he said that was not what we reserved, and we could go down the street at a different hotel, but he would not refund the money there, we would have to do it on-line. We stayed here to attend SIU Orientation. The location was great. The first room they gave us couldn't open with any key. They sent someone down to help open the room. He was unsuccessful so got us in to a different room. I'm hoping that this room was not supposed to be occupied. It was kind of nasty. The side of the TV was smashed in, there was no […] clock or hair dryer, no toiletries. The shower was completely defective. The only reason to ever stay here would be if you are checking in late, leaving early and just need a place to TRY to sleep and take a shower. Basic is an understatement. We arrived about 10:30 and had to ring a buzzer to wake the clerk up in the back. This hotel is not a good one. I was invited late to be a guest/speaker for a Southern Illinois University group during Homecoming. This was one of the few places left with vacancy. It's no surprise why either. I did not have high expectations but this place was a disaster. Pulling back the comfortable revealed an unmade bed, and only one sheet (no fitted […] sheet or blanket). The television did not work (it did not even turn on). The room became warm and I turned on the AC before I left. When I returned the housekeeper had shut the AC off so my room was hot.
