"Travelodge Sydney Not What they Advertise"
We booked at the Travelodge because they advertised all rooms had data connections for internet. When we arrived we were told that any rooms below the 13th floor were not 'hooked up'. We could upgrade from the average room for $30 AUD and then have the priviledge of paying an additional $20AUD for internet access for 24 hours. We pointed out that they […] advertised ALL room had data access and they moved us (after two days) to a small room where the ventilation system blew directly in our faces all night and the hot water did not work properly (as if there was air in the pipes and it would come and go from full force to nothing). The staff was pleasant and helpful and the rooms were clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Uncomfortable, Overpriced & A Cold Welcome"
Keep looking and you will find better located, more comfortable Sydney hotels for the same price, or less.....seriously. It's definitely not the worst hotel in Australia...but I wouldn't stay there again. Honestly, I think I'd prefer a hostel. I don't need a lot of "service" from the places I stay....but I left the Travelodge Hotel Sydney feeling under-serviced. […] Reception was cold and didn't really seem willing (or able) to help with even simple requests or questions. I don't expect much from budget priced hotels....but I left the Travelodge Hotel Sydney feeling like I over-paid. I don't mind doing a good amount of walking to see the sites of the places I visit....but I left the Travelodge Hotel Sydney feeling like I had to walk too much to get to the places I wanted to see. I usually prefer to stay at places just a little outside of the "city center".....but left the Travelodge Hotel Sydney feeling like I wasn't really "in Sidney" when I was in my room. Again, keep looking. You'll be glad you did. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
For the price you pay in Sydney, it was a decent place to stay. It is close to a rail station, which is great if you need to get to the airport. The room was small but decent and it included a flat screen tv and fridge/microwave. The only drawback was all the noise at nighttime. I only stayed for only 2 nights but it was very noisy due to all of the […] young students staying at the hotel. At times, it took awhile to get an elevator. I asked the front desk if there were stairs available and surprisingly they said no. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good place to sleep in Sydney"
Standard clean hotel with small rooms. Usual expensive WiFi and a truly awful buffet breakfast for approximately $20 per person. Great fro an inexpensive stopover but dont eat there!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Travelodge - Sydney"
I liked this hotel overall. The location is ok and there are a number of restaurants and shops within a few blocks. We had to ask for towels a couple of times. On one day the staff did not clean the bathroom very well and left a towel on the floor. The front desk person didn't seem to care. The front desk staff was very helpful on other occasions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Travelodge on Wentworth"
This is my third time at this hotel because it fits my needs well at a reasonable price. Room was clean with a great shower, microwave and small refrigerator. Staff brought extra towels within 5 minutes and gave good advice about city locations, bus routes, etc. Hotel is about a block from the Museum Tube station and the free bus which runs 7 days a […] week in the downtown business district, including to Central Station & Circular Quay. There are pubs & fast food places within a 5 to 10 minute walk, which felt safe, even after dark. I would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good value for money for Sydney, near to Hyde Park and within walking distance of many of Sydneys attractions, clean fresh bedding, clean bathroom, friendly and helpful front desk staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The good thing about this hotel is its proximity to downtown Sydney - about a 10-minute walk to George St and another 10 minutes to Central Station. Other than location, the hotel is nothing special. I had booked a standard room and at check-in, I was told that there was no guarantee as to whether I would get a queen size bed or 2 twins, so they gave […] me 2 twins and one of them was unused. My stay there was unmemorable - will definitely consider staying elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Super nice staff let us check in early after exhausting trans-pacific flight. Price was right. Warning: no internet in the cheap rooms or in the lobby (except coin operated). YMCA down the street has internet 24H for cheapGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I recommended before- No more!"
My previous 2 stays at this hotel were great! This year, was awful. I specifically requested a certain room, and was told at check-in that it was unavailable- which I understand as room requests are just that, requests. HOWEVER, I was offered another room identicle to the one I requested, which I accepted gratefully before going out so they could get […] it ready. Upon my return, I found out that they had given away my identicle room! Even though I had specifically agreed to it prior to leaving, and left with the assurance that when I returned it'd be ready for me. The room they gave me instead, they kept insisting was "better" because it had a king sized bed. I didn't WANT a K sized, I was perfectly happy with a Dbl, I wanted the sofa with the Dbl which I made them aware of when I checked in. When I expressed my displeasure at not having the room I was promised only a couple hours earlier, they said there was nothing to be done. This hotel lacks customer service. I was a returning customer who spent over 4 weeks (over 3 years) at their hotel. I should have recieved a room with a sofa as promised when I left. I stayed for 11 cramped days, without the convenience of having a sofa for myself and my SO to sit on during the day. My SO had backaches from sitting on the bed all the time. Also, my SO got an itchy rash all over his legs/belly while staying in this hotel. We moved to another hotel & rash disappeared. We suspect the bedsheets needed washing. "Never go back again"
This is a much over rated hotel. The room has all of the basics, including shower no beth tub. The hotel location is kinda convenient. The hotel staff is the worst that I ever been in counter with, they did not clean my room, and provided full of excuse. I learned my lesson, and would not recommand any one to stay there.Genuine Expedia guest review

"It's a travelodge!!!"
The staff was very helpful. The room and amenities were acceptable. Main point of contention was the breakfast buffet .... over-priced and not very good .... but it did afford me my first taste of "Vegamite"!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I got a great deal from Expedia on this hotel for 3 days. Although it is not next to any of the sydney attractions, it is in the city and walking distance from the train station. The hotel was clean and well equipped for the price I paid. Definitely different from the Travelodges in the US.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Travelodge near Hyde Park"
Centrally located in downtown Sydney. All must see sights convenient to city bus and /or tours. City buses are free, prepaid or pay- when- using and are colored differently for identification. Had we known the bus system was so good we would not have rented a car and saved the money. Food was good and convenient especially "Harry's Singapore Chili Crab" […] restaurant which was just a short walk from the hotel. The famous Opera house, harbor tours and Darling harbor were all accessible by bus. We especially enjoyed the "Blue Mountains", about an hours ride by train or tour bus, the harbor tour, the Opera House tour and "Darling Harbor" with its restaurants and shops. Lots to see, a week isn't enough. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Sydney location"
We stayed five nights. The hotel is close to everything in CBD Sydney. We could walk everywhere or take transportation within a block. Our room was small, but adequate since we mostly slept there. A small refrigerator, microwave, sink and dishware allowed us to keep some food in the room. there was a hot water pot, coffee, tea and accoutrements in the […] room. Internet service is only available in the lobby for a cost. It would be nice to have service available in the room. The buffet breakfast is OK, but a bit expensive, although not much more than other restaurants in Sydney. The price was well worth it and much cheaper than other hotels in the same vicinity. We would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Super! Do this Hotel!"
I really liked/loved Travel Lodge Sidney on Wentworth Ave.! It was easy to find just streight up the street from the subway station. Two Coles supermarkets one near China Town and lots of nice places to eat if you want. The Hotel's central location is great...and the neighbor hood is quiet and super clean for a city...compared to my city it's unbelieveble! I […] don't normally stay in such a nice hotel so I was suprised and gratified by the condition of the place...yes it could have more cleaning but I'm not the manager! Staff was friendly and so was the cleaning staff and the upsupervisor...very good! The hotel is only 10 year old so...don't expect the Marriot folks...please?! "A good budget hotel in a great location!"
Although our room (2 twin beds) was a bit tight, the beds were comfortable, reading lights were good, the mini refrigerator and microwave were convenient, the bathroom (shower only) was well-designed, and closet space was adequate. The reception staff was friendly and well-informed. and they provided us with good directions and a great walking map. […] I also appreciated the safety deposit box behind the reception desk. The hotel is well-located just a block away from Hyde Park and the Museum Stop metro station and very close to the main shopping areas around Pitt and George Streets. There’s also a free bus shuttle stop just a block away on Elizabeth Street that makes several stops on a loop route to the Circular Quay and runs every 10 to 15 minutes, 7 days a week. One of the best finds was a YWCA (5-11 Wentworth Ave.) just a block from the Travelodge where you can purchase a full hot breakfast with unlimited cups of coffee or tea for $10 AU, and wireless internet access ($2 AU for 1 hour connection) which is much better than the Travelodge whose similar breakfasts cost $16 AU and $2 AY for 15 minutes of connectivity). With a full lobby all day, it is evident that the Travelodge is a very popular hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nicely Priced and Located Hotel in Central Sydney"
Hotels in Sydney (as is much of Australia) are relatively expensive as compared to those in the US. "Nice hotel, would stay there again"
The hotel was nice and clean. The apartment was a studio and if I had to do it again I would rent the 1 bedroom. At the end of our stay we needed an extra night and we were put in a 1 br and it was worth the extra $$. There is a washer and dryer and a full kitchen. The staff was nice and helpful. The area was OK but not great, the views were nice (the […] hotel has 29 floors). The location is 1 block from a train station on George St and you feel like you're staying on 42nd street in NYC. Don't get me wrong I felt totally safe, it was just very "downtown". "Great service in central Sydney"
Very nice center city hotel, close to transit options and tourist sites. Room was small but comfortable, amenties in the little kitchenette were very useful for light meals and snacks. Hotel staff were very helpful and efficient. When I reserved the room, we did not need a handicap room, but by the time we arrived, I was on crutches and without my asking, […] we were given a handicap accessible room. Did not use the breakfast buffet option; not being big breakfast eaters it seemed a little pricey for what we would use. "Good location, would stay here again."
It was my first time in Australia and it was a very pleasant experience. The location of the hotel was perfect. With the train, it is only 2 stops away […] from Circular Quay. The room was clean and decent size. The staff was very friendly and helpful. "Awesome hotel within walking to all attractions"
The hotel was excellent and will stay there again when i go back to sydney. It is only 2 blocks from the train station and hyde park and only about 20-30 mins from sydney harbor and bridge. They provide free coffee in room with cream in the fridge waiting for you. The rooms were big and comfy. Beds could have been softer. Only problem my mom and i had […] were that the room keys provided, you have to use to go up the elevator but the keys would work only 20% of the time so you end up riding the elevator when they dont work. It was not only us it was like this for others to. But other than that minor annoyance the hotel was located well and very clean and the staff was friendly. 5 stars. "Basic hotel, but excellent!!"
Travelodge met my expectations very much so. We were not looking for a hotel with opulence, just a basic, safe and clean hotel with a central location which was essential for we did not hire a car. We were able to walk to Darling Harbor, Circular Quay, the Rocks. We also got it at a great price (thanks to a strong greenback) which was sweet!! The staff […] were very helpful in setting up tours for us and how to get places like Bondi Beach. We had single beds which were small but comfortable. Bathroom was different from what we're used to in the States for there was no separation between the shower (no tub) and the rest of the bathroom so when you shower, the rest of the bathroom floor gets wet (though there was curtain that contained most of the water), but, this was not a big bother. I do wish there was a an internet connection in the rooms though for we used the internet to do research and make reservations at the various destinations we visited on this trip, this is my only complaint. I will definitely stay there again when visiting Sydney. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
